Very true but Gary Shaw was finished by that age and Michael Owen had his best years before 23. No doubt he hasn't peaked yet and hopefully we can see the best of him.

I don't yet see why he will be any less of a player than he was before. Is this that kind of injury? It won't be a constant niggle, the only issue he might face is confidence. Does he strike you as anything but confident? Overly at times. I'm uber confident myself that he'll get back to form quickly. He is better than Lukaku yes. He found his feet quick enough in this league and then took it apart. He was coming back to form again when the injury happened. How small is small? Edit - basically, I think he's absolutely electric. He does miss the odd sitter, granted, but the unreal goals he scores from nothing make up for it in my opinion. Best forward player of my time as a villa fan (inc Yorke) and second only to McGrath overall. That's where I'm at. How many footballers come back from achilles ruptures as good as they were before? Does anybody know any footballers who have!

With Benteke though he's performed well over a small period. I think he's more than capable of being one of the best strikers in the world but he's now coming back from a serious injury and we don't know if he'll ever be the same player. I hope he will! I just hope we don't expect too much from him. I think he's better than Lukaku.

World class to me is Messi, Ronaldo and Suarez. Benteke isn't in the league, but we all have different interpretations of what world class is.

Good post. I'd say 5% was a little high. I think it differs with age groups. People over the age of say 65 who were brought up in a predominantly white England, its higher than that.

They spent 10 mil on Origi, they might have been better off giving him a chance instead of loaning him out and signing Balotelli.

I think Gordon Taylor is out of order stirring things up. You can point to a lack of black managers at this current time but I think if you're good enough you'll get the job no matter what colour you are.

I was watching that God awful MOTD programme on Sunday at lunchtime, the one where they discuss games and incidents without having any highlights or replays what so ever to back them up. Anyways, Kilbane was trying to argue how it isn't fair on Chelsea that City have got Lampard in on loan, when challenged, rightfully, that Chelsea let him go and can have no complaints he was flummoxed. I don't think he is a very bright boy, he is very boiring, backs down on his arguments too much and I don't like the gap in his teeth or his dodgy hair. You are a perfectionist... and the majoriity of ex footballers are thick.

To be fair Cahill is one of the best cbs in europe now. Townsend I think could have offered something in the world cup. At least he has a go. Delph is a given. He's a first team starter now for me.
