One thing Lambert really does need to do is give Benteke a rocket up his **** arse. At least these players who are clearly not quite up top 10 standard like Lichaj, Herd and Albrighton put it in and fight for the ball after they've lost it (again), Benteke's attitude won't help a struggling team when he throws his arms around every time he's offside again or someone doesn't give him the ball. Very good player, but needs that winding in nice and early. Not having this midfield excuse, he's seen the ball plenty of times but keeps trying extravagant layoffs when he needs to hold onto it. He's been very poor last two games, today I thought he was very slightly better and won a few great headers.

What he does isn't pretty at all, he just gets the ball on target. He miscontrols easy passes a lot, battling well for the ball, but his technique generally isn't all that, it'll probably stop him reaching the very top. He's very effective, similar to Hernandez, love having him in the team.

I think Lambert has made moves to set up a really good transfer network for Villa. He's already shown his balance in the transfer market going both abroad and local to get the players he's after, so hopefully he'll be able to find the players that fit the bill. I'm happy with the cost and quality of every single one of his transfers. We've already got some bargains, let's hope we can grab a few more top players for acceptable fees. A player I'd love is Yacob from WBA, never going to happen, but hopefully we'll be in the mix in the future when players like that become available on a free.

Been a member of a gym for a month, as it came as a bit of a bonus at work. First time I've ever set foot in one and don't have any set plan whatsoever. Probably been about 12 times and I just lift things up and down until everywhere on my body hurts. Is it all a waste without some sort of plan and focus on one part of my body? I'm also not dieting at all, eat OKish most of the time but do occasionally get accidentally drunk and eat kebabs.

Like the look of Guidetti, but hasn't been playing at a hugely competitive level for a while. Put on a smidge of weight as well. Wouldn't mind a loan, but we need another forward as well I think.

Delaney was brilliant for us. Rock solid player for 6+ years, absolutely ruined by Bocanegra away at Fulham going in winning the ball and getting badly fouled. Might have been the 2-2 when Ridgewell scored twice, can't quite remember. Lowton looks a good player, needs to stop turning his back when blocked crosses, nasty habit that. Craigy G was much less accomplished at full back for us but you'd never catch him doing that. He used to wear them square in the face three or four times a match!

Anyone seen Chasing Ice? Quite fancy it myself, but can't be arsed if it gets too preachy.

Decent today. Battled well. Ireland is important to us as he's often the one who takes up the impetus and plays the ball forward, encouraging others to do so. Think Lambert played it safe by bringing him on so late, but he was making sure we didn't leave many holes at the back and give a silly goal away - we hung on and got a point, he was right. Bent, rightly on the bench again. Not the game for him, Benteke was getting the shit kicked out of him battling for every ball. Bent wouldn't have touched it. He'll be handy to throw on in games we are dominating but cannot score in, hopefully next week! Westwood very good again, Baker and Clark good against an experienced side. Bannan just needs to be more careful. Make sure with those passes through a crowd, he tends to give it away when trying to play positive which is a small bonus whenever he plays badly, he'd trying to do the right thing. Forgettable match, we've claimed a decent point in. Well done to all, Lambert is the man.

Bale is frustratingly fantastic. He could get into any side in the world, one of the very few things Harry's right on. I love Balotelli, he's so bloody funny to watch. Immense talent but doesn't have the work ethic to ever succeed. I think you'll only ever see the best of him if he gets angry and decides he wants to dominate defenders. Bale is the better and more useful player.

Not when he's playing shit and touching the ball 6 times in 90 minutes it isn't.
