  1. Mourinho is an awesome manager. He makes big big calls. But I think MON is the man to take us forward. Similarly to Mourinho he will not be forced into making decisions he doesnt want to and has a plan and sticks to it. I just prefer MON. Jose's Porto team did some great things way beyond them, but lets face it they had some seriously talented players. While he was doing that, MON was taking a small amateur local team and solidifying their place in the football league (I know these achivements were at different times, but in the context of the managers career's, very similar both being near the beginning), and taking Leicster into the prem. Different acheivements. Could MON have taken Porto to champions league? Id imagine not. Could Mourinho take a non-league team in ENgland into the football league? Id imagine not.
  2. The amount Abramovic understands about football could probably lead him to trying to get O'Neill. "Hmmm lets see, ooo that little irish man just beast my team, he must be a good amnager I will buy him"

  4. surely it would get infected? but wait till you hear mine........ Spiders have no heart or lungs. thats why is you trap them under a glass they dont suffocate
  5. I think he will come on in both games and get around an hour.
  6. great report, thanks a lot! I am going down to the next home one, last time I went was the team with the brothers Moore leading the line. I really like the sound of Stieber, but whoever saw a lad called Stephen Cooke play football will know how wrong things can go, no matter how much promise you have.
  7. I bet you enjoyed that!! What a fantastic win General.K ! Did you talk to any of the players after the game?
  8. I know Craig and he is a super lad who looked after my nephews in Toronto really well as he had said he would do. Saw him out running just after last season finished at about 8 in the morning, he will do us proud this season General! Normally I wouldnt bother backing this up as things like that dont affect players that much; but as a young man and player, that thread really could give the lad such a boost. He and players like him, have the attitude and ability to take this club into our bright future. It is at your discretion, thank you General.
  9. Whereas South Park has grown and got better and better, Simpsons started well, then entered legendery status around 4th season to about 6th and then began to slowly decline. The new ones now are crap. I think they need to go back to 2d animation, I hated the film when it all kept going 3d, the thing that made it so orignal was the fact the animation was so 'standard'
  10. Gordon will come and talk to us I reckon
  11. General, On a scale of crap to class, how good was today? I'll go with a fantastic
  12. 2 more, so 4 players overall in this summer
  13. Good stuff. We do need a keeper and a RB I'd say though
  14. Hi General, Firstly let me express my backing of the prices of the shirt. You may hear some criticism but I think many understand that the prices are standard and competetive. Plus the ST discount is there for added incentive. Down to business. Is it possible that you could elaborate on the release date of this season's away kit? We all have some idea of what it will look like, and you yourself have told us that you're very pleased with the design. But to release the kit on 7th September, by which time we will have played 5 games, 2 away from home, is in my opinion shooting ourselves in the foot. Less will get sold, and these kits have less longevity as away tops are normally re-designed every season, so need to be given the biggest oppurtunity while the kits are 'in date'. Of course there is probably some clever plan in place that counters this, but for the life of me, and my non-marketing mind I can't figure out what it is. Could you please fill us in? Thank you Sir Tom
  15. Few years ago, Makaay was unstoppable, I havn't seen him seince then, when he was on fire in Europe, could be a good player to have, but I dont want him coming in on double what everyone else in the whole squad is. Re: Hugo the goalie - I love getting linked to these unknowns, especially out of the blue, its so refreshing from all the Barton Parker SWP NRC lark.
  16. Oh man thats disappointing. Those rumours came from nowhere and were around for a while, must have been a reason we didn't act. Or maybe not?
  17. One thing Koumas can do well is play anywhere across midfield, could come in handy whe a bit short. Yeah probably 5 is too much 4 max I d say.
  18. Anyone heard anything of Koumas to us for 5m? Just whispers around today that we've made a bid? My baggy mate says he'll be pleased with 5m
  19. The best strikers in the game have a conversion rate of something like 1 in 4, and Owen is probably there or thereabouts. I agree that he isn't as good as he once was and losing his pace is probably the biggest reason why, and he wouldn't be worth the insane salary he would have wanted, but he is still a clever and effective striker. To state that he isn't good enough because he doesn't score on every chance is silly because by that demand you deem every strikers as poor. Of the five top scorers this season Drogba had third best shots/goals ratio of 20%, Rooney had 13% and Ronaldo 12%, while McCarthy and Viduka was best with 29% and 27% respectively. Some fair points. Wages we agree on. 100% is aggerated yes, but for me a player in the Michael 'I dont do anything but score' Owen mould must score 80% of chances. By this I dont mean shots to goals, I mean like the actual chances that come his way. When Van Horseface was in his prime anything that fell his way in the box would be in the net 8 times out of 10. Brazilian fat ronaldo has a career average of 4 goals in 5 games, thats what someone who does nothing but score should have; earlier in his career he was much more at barca etc, but in final year at madrid he was just a goal poacher. Id disagree that he is an effective striker, as has become clear in various games; I mean it is hard to guage this as he hasnt played for years but for example Euro 2004: Did nothing, one goal in 5 games ( i think, group games, 2nd round, quarters?), dispite playing with Rooney who was absolutley on fire. WC 2006, did nothing ,didnt score, heaved around looking slow and unfit, got injured as he does. Recent Eng B game against albania, did diddly squit, missed one good chance. Poor. Harsh I know he hasnt played for a while but its in my head. In conclusion, not for villa thanks!
  20. Afraid to say, even when fit, Owen is not the player he once was, and never will be again. From the age of abiut 18 to 23/24 he was incredible. Believe me that player has died. He's lost all his pace, and as a player who contributes NOTHING but goals, you have to finish 100% of chances; Owen has never and will never do that. When he was younger he could also create goals for himself, can't do that anymore as he's got no skill ( never did have) or pace (used to have that and steam past people). Dont want him at all.
