  1. Cut out those yellows Fab and you're onto a winner.
  2. I think Long is a good player. Better than all our strikers bar Benteke. If they'd just spend £12m on Hernandez from Utd I don't think there would be much of a debate, but Long is better than him as well. Football is full of overpriced players... but if everyone is overpriced, does that mean no one is?
  3. Gawd, don't say that, don't you know Lambo has finally "solved" our left back problem with Cissokho? has anybody actually said that? Nah, but people aren't allowed to be positive about a Villa signing remember? http://www.villatalk.com/index.php/topic/11784-carlos-sanchez/page-62
  4. Swansea will be fine without Europa. Hull will be right down the bottom, especially without Long.
  5. Nonsense. He's technically rubbish. If he had any technique at all, he wouldn't shank every cross into row z. He didn't though. His shots were some of the only parts of last season I enjoyed at Villa Park. Genuinely smiled as he crashed another one 60 yards over the bar, not a thought in his tiny mind for the man in space. Really funny stuff. But he can control the ball... sometimes. I can't remember the last time the ball went to Weimann and he didn't manage to balloon it up in the air with his first touch.
  6. Which ones would you deem to be worse out of interest? Bennett is much much worse. Warnock went through a very odd period where it looked like he was trying to get sent off. At times for Liverpool last season it looked like Cissokho couldn't run properly, will have to see how he settles in.
  7. I'd like to see an attempt from Aston Villa at passing the ball. Some sort of plan on the pitch, not clueless looks at each other followed by a hoof to no one. Attack teams like he claimed he would. Some understanding that a system isn't working and a switch of formation at HT perhaps?
  8. I'd say he's technically better than a fair few first teamers. Certainly the likes of Baker, Bennett, Weimann and Gabby. No brain though, needs to be taught properly. I hope we don't have to sell him and we can bring him back when he gets some confidence back.
  9. Safety Not Guaranteed which fictionalises one of the oldest internet pranks going is...good. The performances just didn't quite do it for me though the characters grew on me towards the end. It's nagging me that it could have been a lot lot better with a better cast, and it was enjoyable anyway. Worth a watch.
  10. Savage will be a regular on MOTD and MOTD2, just not Football Focus. The way he's carved himself out a career is incredible. He has barely any vocabulary and can't form sentences properly. Edited Need to work on forming those sentences.
  11. Not good going forward you say? Stand by for Lambo to use him as a wing back in a 5-3-2
  12. Weimann is still hungry dont worry about that! ---- Gutted how it's turned out for Lowton. A very handy footballer whose athleticism would have probably stopped him getting to the very top, but one certainly good enough for our team. One of the only players who could control the ball, look up and pass it in the last two seasons.
  13. Cissoko was so bad for Liverpool last year it hurt. He was Bennett level, he couldn't even run properly.
  14. Just watched In A World... with Lake Bell and thought it was class. Really enjoyable film.
  15. He's miles better than Bennett, so I'd rather he went first to be honest.
  16. An experienced head in the middle would be nice.
  17. His squad number got taken off him. He wasn't wanted. Be interesting to see the backtracking.
  18. Surprised he's not left yet. I like him, he can't have been happy not making the squad towards the end of last season.
  19. Would have him LB ahead of Bennett no question
  20. Razorlight did have some decent songs yeah, but I think their lead singer was a helmet.
  21. Kasabian have always seemed chavvy. Chavvy people with a chavvy sound. A lot of my mates have seen them live though and assure me they're loads better in front of you rather than listening to a CD or on TV.
  22. Baines was poor going forward but couldn't do anything with having two men to mark constantly. De Rossi dropping deeper for Italy allowed both full back for them to push on. It was just at LB they had Chiellini who is never going to bomb forward like Darmian was down their right, he was MOTM for me. We never dealt with it as a team at all, poor vision from Hodgson. If De Sciglio had been fit, we'd have been ripped to pieces down both sides. Having said all that, I enjoyed the game. We looked dangerous and with a tad more composure around their box, we could have scored enough to win us that; and that's with Gerrard, Baines, Johnson, Barkley, Rooney all being below par offensively.
