  1. I disagree if one of you is crap at the job and the other is excellent. Performance should have a big fat impact on people's wage IMO.
  2. Not read that too many places to be fair? Zatman's post is the most positive thing I've read about him since he was at West Ham.
  3. Good job we tied him down and didn't use his wage to offer Delph his entire £55k + Delph's existing. Wandered about and didn't mark from the corner. Looked to be a zonal system though, so maybe can't blame him for that.
  4. Pulis' football at Palace was much better than Lambert's has been for the last two/three years. Lambert has it perfectly set for him to be fair. Even if he does get sacked, which he won't, but say he walks when we lose nine in a row and Burnley turn us over... He'll STILL be exempt of blame for some people. Obviously he won't get another Premier League job for a long long time because other fans and clubs can see how bad we are but our own fans still can't. Good for him.
  5. Spurs are struggling at the moment. Ploddy and slow, they will be nervous. We need to fly out of the blocks tomorrow and really get into them. I can see nothing but a flat, drab performance and a loss by two or more goals.
  6. Absolutely class! Great shout! Mike Ashley, there's a guy who can run a club! If only we had him so Lambert had room to spread his wings and get us playing that stylish game he seeks.
  7. His crossing is excellent. Best at the club by a country mile.
  8. Sadly I can see this happening. Bertrand seems to be a completely different player under Koeman. It's funny, Bertrand was OK under Di Matteo when he won the Champions League. He was also ok under Rodgers at Reading. It's our style of football under Lambert that sucks confidence from players and leads to so many looking crap consistently. Bacuna is a player who always looked raw, never having the ball at his feet won't help him to progress.
  9. Tim Sherwood has done absolutely nothing in football management.
  10. 23 caps for England u21 and played 100 games for a team challenging top 4. Westwood has not come close to that. So? Francis Jeffers is the all time U21 leading scorer. NRC played central midfield and couldn't control a football. He couldn't pass it 10 yards to a teammate. He was a joke. Challenging for top 4 is very kind. There was only one season we did that, and we blew it. He was typically terrible throughout that season though if you're wondering.
  11. Not sure I've ever despised a player quite like I despised NRC. What an abomination he was. He'd half get it under control, then rotate himself around it, then point and shout out of the side of his mouth. Then pass it out for a throw in to the opposition. Christ, I hated watching him. Westwood is a bazillion miles ahead of him.
  12. I wonder how far we can go before some accept Lambert isn't good enough. I'm interested. 8/9/10 losses? Golden scenario for him for sure. He'll never get a job this good again.
  13. I know you did the wink thing but I've seen a couple of comments like this. No one on here puts possession above anything else. The result is the main thing. But it is a fact that over the course of a season the teams that keep the ball better finish in the top half of the league. Also the way we play most of the time means that when we do come up against a poor team and can have more of the ball we have no idea how to use it because clearly the team are not set up or coached on a possession based game. This is also evident when playing lower league games. I don't think games like last night should be used to mock fans who put value on their team keeping hold of the ball more. I don't think it should be used to mock fans who want more possession, but it does raise the point that the clamour around the possession stat is overplayed. I'm not advocating our usual style, but take the Hull game for example. We won that game, comfortably. But there's people on here who aren't happy with the performance because we didn't have enough of the ball. Then compare that to last night, we lost comfortably but dominated possession. It has to be used in context. Too many people seem to be focused on possession alone. No we didn't. We were clinging on by our finger tips at the end with no control of the game. We were comfortable at half time, but gradually got more and more nervous after long spells without the ball. Then the last 10 were awful and terrifying to watch. We had more shots and possession than any other game this season because we were playing bottom of the league. If we averaged 65% rather than 38% I have a feeling we'd be a little better off in the long run. You have to take into account the fact that we played last year's top 5 already as to why we're averaging 38% so far. We averaged 45% and 47% in the last 2 seasons. Personally I'd rather we stick to the counterattacking style, because we clearly are not good enough to break teams down while they sit back. 65% against the worst team in the league and not being able to score pretty much backs that up. I'll just add I'd obviously love to win every game 2-1 with no possession but it's unlikely with a side as bad as ours. I want to see us have a bit of flexibility. Playing on the counter is OK against the big teams but it would be nice to see us control a game and win say 2-0 without hanging on at the end. I can't wait for the Burnley game... Going into it on the back of eight losses The last few years, half the time I don't think we are set up to counter, it just ends up happening because we sit so deep with everyone scared of getting the ball into their feet. We then break, win a corner, float it to the keeper and retreat back to our own box.

  15. Unlucky to be taken off instead of Sanchez.
  16. I quite like watching him going forward. He can control and pass the ball.
  17. Absolutely terrible. We need to keep starting him though because he's got it in him somewhere. Let's hope the manager can get him up for it.
  18. Those two crosses about 35 mins into the first half were funny. Scuffed two in a row along the floor into the same player. Classic Man Utd hype. This guy got England caps!
  19. Good job we gave Lambert a 4-year deal and not Delph.
  20. So... We've got Spurs, West Ham & Southampton to lose to...then it's Burnley in the battle for 19th place! Wonder if their budget is bigger than ours? I can't wait for dribbling and tears over the possession, and it being a meaningless stat.
  21. You haven't watched us for a while have you?
  22. Goal Monday please Gab. Near post stooping header in a 1-0 win, cheers.
  23. Fcuking hell. Missed this news. Jesus Christ we're in trouble.
  24. Great post Accurate post :thumb: We are stagnant. The manager needs to pull his finger out. He's sadly managed to convince many it's impossible to pass the football, and it's probably leaked through to the team. He will never get a better job that this. Don't waste it Paul.
