  1. Bent has been abysmal every time he's been on a football pitch in the last two years. Why he's been playing at all I don't know. Why he's suddenly started making appearances after being the worst player in a team that got relegated last year I don't know.
  2. First game of the season he brought Grealish on when we were clinging onto a 1-0 lead. We won that game.
  3. I wonder if it was a conscious decision to play him to get him to sign a new deal. Interesting how little playing time he's got since signing it. 188 mins before... 0 mins since... Selecting players ahead of him who can't run or control the ball can't be a good example to set.
  4. It's unfortunate. That's what happens when you turn so many people against you by doing such a bad job, they will look for more things to undeservedly blame you for.
  5. Great word for Aston Villa at the moment! Like his colleagues up top, Zogster obviously has absolutely nothing between his ears, but he can be effective in some spells because he's so positive. He will always attempt to run at players and take them on. Agbonlahor and Weimann can't control the ball properly and can barely dribble, so he offers something different (because he can very occasionally) and I actually think he might be decent against Burnley and their stodgy defenders. I'd start him again ahead of Richardson and would be dropping Weimann before him.
  6. Sanchez needed to come off. Lambert didn't want to bring an attacking midfielder on. Best option was to drop gabby back because of his energy and lack of opportunity up front. We needed to out a striker on as a result. I'm not sure it was the right thing to do, but why the **** is everyone struggling with the concept? I'll assist you. It wasn't the right thing to do I'm not struggling... I can't fathom the thought process because he's so incorrect. Darren Bent cannot move. Did you see him lurch around, you may as well have Given there! Put Grealish up front, put Cole up front, put Lowton on as an extra centre half, put Bacuna on to charge around midfield. We could have even then maybe grabbed another with Gabby latching onto another clearance in a piece of "planned football". I wouldn't argue about it - we were getting overun before the sub - making it \ not making it wouldn't have affected the result IMO. It makes me more sad than I would care to admit when we play so badly. It probably made no difference agreed.
  7. Classic Weimann tekkers there. Routine stuff. Did excellently in the move leading up to it though, really well played.
  8. Lovely player, so wasted at Villa.

  10. That Bent sub What in the flying piss is he doing? Did you see that little ball down the left hand side of the area that Bent tried to run onto? He can hardly move. I want to know what he shows in training to be coming on ahead of ever other player bar on that bench bar Given. Any of them would have been more useful. We got a point after our striker ran onto a clearance and the opposition keeper made an error. I hope to see some ambition against Burnley in the battle for 19th.
  11. Agreed, it must annoy him, but we still get outplayed by every team we play, even one's that cost less than those lot! Look how many lower league teams have beaten us! I'm standing by to spend my winnings on the Spurs and Southampton losses all on a bet on Burnley when they beat us. Similarly, watch how teams dead-bottom thump us, teams on bad runs outplay us, clubs in dry spells break them against us. We are a soft touch, and a crap one to watch as well, not even the sort that might occasionally win a 4-3. If Lambert was even doing a half decent job, the pressure on Lerner would be huge, with most fans feeling sorry for Lambert. But he's so sodding crap, it's hard for people to get past the shite on the pitch to begin to vent at Lerner. I'm gutted that we gave him that contract as we've signed our own death warrant and are going down. Get out of my club you amateur.
  12. He's not in the same class as Barry or Milner but we have a total shite squad now where we had at least a couple of players to soften when they left.
  13. Wonder if the away fans will turn when we lose to Burnley? Their budget is miles above ours to be fair, Lerner out!
  14. Welcome in a corrupt billionaire Qatari nutcase in the Summer and all will be well. **** the Champions League, spend seven-hundred million on players every window for three seasons and they'll soon scrap FFP when the world's best players are all at Villa not playing in it. 99% of the world has total apathy towards Aston Villa at the moment, probably about 90% of the fan base to go with that. We won't be missed when we drop.
  15. Complete conjecture. Bed wetting at its very finest. The only evidence available is our performance in the cup versus lower league opposition Out of five cup runs, we've been knocked out by: One PL side One Championship side Two League One sides One League Two side Now, in those five runs we have beaten a mighty: One Championship side Three League One sides So that makes us 4-4 in the cups versus lower league sides, but we've only beaten one Championship, whereas we've lost to three games to sides from the third tier and lower. Would it not be conjecture to say we'd be comfortably towards the top of the league, were we to go down as we so often struggle against football league teams? [/Con]
  16. Puns aren't too bad for me, but it's people who make endless, unfunny innuendo comments I can't stand. Guy I used to work with did it, and everyone hated him after about two weeks and started not reacting to them, he stopped. They didn't even work!! Someone would say 'Anyone want a tea?' and he shout 'OOOO WATCH OUT FOR JUGS IN THE KITCHEN' or some shit like that. Moron.
  17. The worst thing about us is that when we do go down, this year, or next, or the year after... we'll be down at the bottom of the Championship as well as teams rip us to shreds with their football. It'll only be then he gets the push, as we're fighting to stay out of League 1.
  18. Southampton -2 is 6/1 some places. Very very tempting.
  19. Our top scorer is not good enough. Some posters wouldn't even be happy if we had Aguero and Benteke as strikers. I would understand if Weimann had banged in even a moderate 25 goals in the last two seasons, but he hasn't. He has about 12 or 13? And he often can't control the ball, so whether he's good enough is up for debate. As we're absolute shit at the moment, I don't mind him being at the club personally. I would be happy with Aguero if he was our striker, I think most would you big silly. However, if he miscontrolled it as often as Weimann does, I'd probably criticize him after two years.
  20. He doesn't do enough Pellegrini. In the Premier League, against shit like Villa, you can get by because good players like Toure will eventually saunter through and ram one in from 20 yards. In the Champions League, teams are better across the board and are good enough to take you on. I worked at the City game and CSKA were OK, quite a tidy side, but City were coasting and just expecting to turn them over. Pellegrini barely adapts to any fixture, just names a 442 and sends them out without a plan. They're out of the CL and will probably come second in the leauge. If they win the FA Cup again it might save him his job.
  21. What does the future hold for us really? If we don't go this year, it will be next. Four year contract for Lambo still leaves a bitter taste when this was up in the air.
  22. He can't control the ball which will likely hold him back.
