  1. That's astonishing. So astonishing I'm not sure I believe it He missed the first game of the World Cup though injury. Nah, just giving Forlan a go Club career then.
  2. Suarez has pulled his hammy. When he doesn't start Barca's next game it will be the first match he's missed due to injury in his career.
  3. His performances haven't changed that much for me. He's continuing to do all the things he's always done well. The rest of the team in unrecognisable though, and he doesn't have people standing in the way right alongside him.
  4. Lambert signed some great players for not much money in his time here. Be interested to see if our scouting network lends a helping hand to Tim this Summer as I think they did some good work alongside Lambert.
  5. Last two posts really made me laugh. He is a bellend.
  6. There was a lot of running round cones and 5-a-side sessions that anyone could put on in the last year. Premier League club, Sunday morning training. No wonder we struggled.

I'll just drop in my weekly, he should be in the team as he's a good footballer. It pains me to think how much this side would suit him now, and how much he'd suit this side.
  8. He would be foolish to be anywhere else to be honest. The sort of confidence player he is, he's got a very good thing going here.
  9. Rust. Rust everywhere. Classic Gabby technique for that effort at goal
  10. Most fouled player again for us. Absolutely fantastic performance, and he still got some bits wrong. I can understand these ridiculous comparisons to players as good as Iniesta and Kaka because he looks every bit the part. Would anyone swap him for Raheem Sterling. He's happy to receive the ball in any situation and doesn't shit himself, he calmly controls it and moves it on. He will be in the next England squad I think, just to "secure" him; not sure how good it'll be for Villa to be honest.
  11. A Premier League club is now a nice little earner if you can finish 14th every season. Let's hope these guys want to do something with the team.
  12. Agreed, it's something that's been tried by Lambert and Sherwood and it doesn't work.
  13. Be interested to know what you thought of Okore's jitters. Pure defending, he's great. On the ball, he makes my heart stop.
  14. Ben Davies would be good, he's a better player than he's shown at Spurs.
  15. Stunning pass, Westwood at Norwich stuff. He's still weird. Say Cleverley went, I wouldn't want Bacuna coming into that position unless he's improved his awareness. He never seems to know quite what's around him, or where to be at any one time. His touch is still so off a lot of the time as well, it's like he doesn't just switch off positionally, he forgets he's playing football, then the ball comes and he's shocked and it'll go under his foot. I think playing him as an attacking full back against teams we can have a go at is an ideal spot for him in the squad.
  16. Charles goes for it. He goes for everything. I can't tell if it's confidence or inability to see a pass, I strongly suspect the latter. Probably about a sixth of what he tries comes off, and the rest of the time is him losing it, or putting others under pressure. He's rightly in ahead of Weimann, not rightly in ahead of Gil.
  17. He's so great to watch. In an age when technical nightmares like Sterling constantly break through and are described as "raw", which translates as "can't trap a ball", Grealish saunters about like pissing Balllack barely looking at his feet.
  18. He was excellent and will hopefully learn from that poor Lukaku challenge. Let his guard down once and it eventually led to a penalty, there was no need to try and nip the ball with your wrong leg there, just hold him where he is.
  19. If he doesn't get caught on the ball and cost us a goal this season, I'll be very relieved. He was great on the ball when he first appeared, what's happened! Needs to get back a bit of confidence on the ball, pure defending-wise he continues to impress.

Would really like to see him get a run where Zog is playing.

You missed out having a go at Sherwood. That's the issue, not what you've put above Like his internet bodyguards. Can't speak badly about the Messiah. We are aloud to have opinions and question his decisions for discussional purposes on a forum. The issue is that there doesn't seem to be any flexibility. There were valid questions about why he wasn't starting games, but surely over the past couple of months those questions have been answered by results on the pitch. The manager fancies others for whatever reason, it doesn't really matter why, and those "others" are doing the business. If given the choice between Grealish and Gil, based on what i have seen from both of them, I would chose Grealish Why is that? I'm genuinely curious. I love Grealish, and if one of the two had to leave I would choose it to be Jack that stayed - partly due to him coming through the academy/being a Villa lad and partly due to him being younger with possibly more potential. However, at this moment in time, I would argue (at the risk of being exiled from VT) that Gil has shown that he is at least as good, if not better, than Grealish. Because I think Grealish has much more natural talent and a much higher ceiling and should be afforded the time to progress. I also believe that he produced a performance on Sunday that was head and shoulders above anything Gil showed in his brief stint and I also see in Grealish a player completely in tune with his team mates, whilst for whatever reason Gil struggled to "fit". I accept that a lot of that was down to poor management, but I can only report on what I see. I do like Gil and I think he has a good future in the game. He's clearly carrying a lot of natural talent himself. But I questioned his decision making at the time, I also questioned his work rate and I think Grealish despite being the younger of the two is the more mature player. As I said, I do like Gil. That hasn't come across in this thread for a while because we seem to discuss the managers decisions more than the player himself! I do hope we see more of him towards the end of this season and in to next. Just not at the expense of Grealish unless his form really nosedives. What about the choice between Gil and N'Zogbia? Gil and Weimann? I know who I'd have, and I know who is the best player of those three. Think what sort of results we could be having if Gil was playing ahead of them
  22. Within five years that'll be back up to £600+ They have to fill their ground for now, and are going to try and lure people in. I would be over the moon to see them go down when they give Sam the boot in the Summer. Those prices won't look so clever if they can't get out of the Championship.
