I don't think he is. He's just miles better than Bruce and moved clubs this summer so was a bit more noticeable. Bruce being as terrible as he is, mean people pine for the average on occasion.

Agreed. I'm not 100% sure on total newbies though due to our squad. We've got utter cancers in there, training every day and it's not healthy. Richards and Gabby are bad enough, but now with someone like John Terry as well, it'd be hard for a left field choice to take charge. Just to say I rate Terry, and I do think he was a good signing, but we've made it an awkward squad to manage. I don't know the character of this Potter, it certainly could be done if he is confident enough. Wagner before Huddersfield looks like he'd have been fine walking in to our current dressing room for example.

I just think we're set up so well for someone to come and be a hero. Great chance for anyone. We've got a great squad for this league and are still(!) playing with so fear and caution. I think it really is as simple as attack some teams and results and goals will start to come.

Similar backing to us. They've just got a manager on a different planet. One with a plan. Doesn't have "English league experience", neither do any of their signings. Football is football. If you pass the ball well, and go at teams, you're going to win matches. He also had a pre-season and that's it. Not 9 months plus a pre-season. You utter failure Bruce.

Feel sorry for the doctor. Led up the garden path. It's going to be harder to pull managers in if they are employed as well now. Leaving a month into the new season, even for a suppose step up, never looks good to fans. It'll likely sour any current relationship they have. Convinced Bruce has f**ked it by not having proper coaches in place. Stephen Clemence? From Hull U21, to Aston Villa first team? Incredible.

Tim Sherwood would have better results with us. That's how bad Bruce is.

Would be a good signing. Would have been a better one last year when he was unwanted at Palace and we were splashing out millions on McCormack and Kodjia.

I think he's going to be a star somewhere. Away from Villa and managers like Sherwood, Di Matteo and Bruce is the best place for him. Wouldn't be surprised to see his next move be to a top European club.

We will improve on what evidence? Hope? Approaching 40 games under Bruce and he's delivered nothing. We look like a league 2 team playing away at Man Utd every game. Get out of my club.

Yeah, it's weird. Young was one of the most effective players in the league in that side. You're right with the price as well. £30m for Barkley who has done nothing for 2 years. £50m and up for Young easy. Money has changed it a lot, not convinced we'll be back to that level.
