Comparisons getting a bit stretched now, but it's not just any PL fan, like Burnley or something - It's like a Man Utd fan wanting Man Utd to play, and win, and entertain like City. I think they probably all do. If we had a shit squad I wouldn't care, but the team is there, the manager's ambition/ability isn't.

If we don't go up this year, Bruce's failure will hang around like a bad smell for some time.

Sterling if you took him right now would yes. Sterling at the start of the season before Pep got hold of him wouldn't I don't think. His improvement has been fantastic. And he still can't finish! He should probably have approaching 30 goals in the PL this year, never seen someone miss so many sitters.

They've consistently played more attacking football than us and have more points because of it. If we had played attacking football more often, we'd have more points. We still could go up. But it's going to be a battle instead of a cruise.

Easy to say now, after they've played free flowing football for much of the season. Funny how they've looked good, be interesting to see how they'd have been under Bruce. Probably similar to us now, in a good position because of their individual quality without having looked much good. Bearing in mind all our vital "championship experience", ours is better for this league.

At times we have individuals that turn it on, we look good when they do. I'd like us to try and play more as we have the best squad in this league. Teams with resources 10% of us try and get results.

Maybe it's a change in my own thinking, I definitely used to be win at all costs. Now we're outside the top flight, I do want to see some attractive football. If this was in the PL and we were grinding out wins, I would not have a problem. I now know certainly, that in this division, I'm bored to tears watching this "winning football" under this manager. It's Pulis/Sam/Bruce ball guff whenever Jack Grealish doesn't play well. No issue with the occasional smash-and-grab. Snoddy's winner at Bramall Lane, the topsy turvy match down the road at Hillsborough, gritty-ish derby win at home. Not dominant fantastic football displays, but don't care a bit, they were fun. I'd like more most of the time when we're the biggest club in the league with the best squad. Best season the 80s and all that, great, breaking records is good. We're in the division below, we probably should be setting records though? We've not been here since the 80s. It's been said to death and some agree and some don't, but using Brentford as they're floating around the last few pages... If we played like they do, with this squad, we'd be top of the league and monstering our way to the Premier League. Looking forward to Bruce leaving whenever that is.

Steve Bruce wasn't around then.

He has claimed responsibility a few times this season after poor results. But it's all bull. He doesn't know what's wrong. He can't manage or motivate this incredible squad. Even in our good run of results, we weren't playing as title winners do. It was frequently individual moments from individual players winning us games, or scoring. We are such a poorly managed team. Bruce wasn't a bad choice when he came in, but he's never put any sort of stamp on the team. We still look like we've got no proper formation or style half the time. He will never get a job this good again. He's done. Should have been sacked before the end of September. Grealish getting fit saved him. If we can sludge our way to playoffs, I still think we could win a one-off final at Wembley, but I don't see us beating anyone across two legs.

The real top top ones, initally yes. But I don't see why their owners wouldn't try to make Wolves one of their bigger clubs. Due to the PL money, Watford quickly surpassed Udinese as the side all the better players go to in that cluster of clubs the Pozzo lot own.

Yeah people are obsessed. It's a good addition to coverage and discussion, but it's going too far where people are looking to it first as a barometer of how good a player is. It can go both ways though and make a player seem like they're not performing, like this case in Grealish. Or it can "boost" a player's/team's performance if they rack up numbers in key areas but aren't contributing much.

Do the last two matches make it clear we don't? Maybe we can agree whatever it is isn't being executed consistently. Current issue for me is that no attempt has been made to make us less reliant on Grealish. It's up to him 100% of the time to get us up the pitch. It's up to him to feed Snodgrass and Adomah. He decides how we play because he goes looking for the ball. This was clear right through our great run. If he gets injured our season is over, we could drop out the playoffs. I hope Bruce sees this and can change personnel who won't let him down.

Cardiff game off is good for us. Let their games pile up and their small stretched squad get tired. We can put pressure on with wins.
