  1. I thought McCormack looked quite good at times. Certainly, he linked well with Grealish when getting it down and playing in the space in front of the defence. He was started up front on his own a few times with the ball being slammed up to him, may as well play me up there than do that.
  2. He backed the wrong horse. Backed it really well. Backed it so well, it was incredibly hard to fail. How Bruce managed to strangle this squad into not going up is quite a feat. Yes, he should have sacked him last summer. He should have sacked him in pre-season. He should have sacked him in September. He could have sacked him at the turn of the year. His big error was trusting Wyness and Bruce.
  3. I won't blame Xia for backing his manager. He's unlucky that he found one as bad as Bruce.
  4. Agreed the market was skewed by a couple of wild transfers. £30m for Drinkwater a perfect example of that. Grealish is twice as good as him.
  5. We have to. Most important thing we do this summer is get a group of staff who play football.
  6. Paul Cook is the man I'm warming to more and more.
  7. Moyes a huge step up from Bruce. Another level.
  8. Barring a big change in style, we'll be much worse off. He's certainly been the only thing worth watching in our side for most of the season. Remarkably, wasn't central to plans 2016-17 either so we've only really been had 6 months of him in a starring role. Only a real truckload of money will soften the blow.
  9. He'd have got us up automatically with players like Grealish.
  10. He was ambitious which I like. Without his investment, we'd be in League One now. With it, we should be Premier League. Di Matteo, carcrash. Don't know what happened with his appointment, but that was a big error. Since then, he's been let down by everyone he's employed to help him along. Wyness and Bruce, both total failures. I read the statement as Bruce is staying. If we're about to hold a fire sale, that's a disastrous decision. He's finished.
  11. We should be going for Jordan Hugill on loan from West Ham. Or even a swap with Hogan if they'll bite. Only reason I mention that is because they were linked so heavily before we signed him. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10743373/west-ham-still-looking-to-sign-scott-hogan-from-brentford http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4129118/West-Ham-make-breakthrough-striker-Hogan.html https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/jan/17/west-ham-strikers-david-sullivan-gold-simone-zaza-scott-hogan https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/12/31/west-ham-transfer-news-shane-long-brentfords-scott-hogan-alternative/
  12. So... Bruce has got them wrong. A new man might get them wrong. But Bruce already has? And we should stick with the man who has definitely already got so much wrong? I don't understand. "Wonder season" Give me strength.
  13. Because of Doc's presence on twitter I think some are getting a tad expectant about what's coming out the club. No news is bad news with Bruce staying. ---- Sorry vive, can't get rid of this quote. I agree fwiw!
  14. Bruce has just failed with one of the best squads in the league. He couldn't handle it all without sniping at fans either. Dean Smith might be able to, who knows? We know Bruce can't without cracking under the pressure and flopping in a play-off final.
  15. Dunno if this is your opinion or part of your web search? He didn't do badly in England at all for me. His squad with Hull was preposterously bad and he nearly kept them up, would have been a miracle. Then he was flying with Watford and when Everton got involved it all went a bit tits up and the team seemed to get upset at him being linked with another job. Watford did as they do, sacked as soon as their manager at the first sign on trouble and stayed up. Before Everton were linked they were around 8th or something and looking very good. He'd be a fantastic appointment.
  16. Such a waste last season. Crap league, incredible squad. We could have had a field day. We'll likely never have that chance again. Wouldn't have even taken much with how good our players were. Just play some football and attack teams. Winning games is good yeah, but that feeling could dry up horribly in the coming seasons.
  17. Trains really well organised from both ends I thought. Bit of a wait both ends as well, but what can you do when you've got that many people and x number of trains. Trip down from Moor Street on the 9.15 a dream.
  18. If we signed Mitrovic in January we would have fallen short all the same. And you'd have found a different thing that we were lacking. The manager this season has cost us. He's done. And worryingly, could even be staying for next year.
  19. Wolves showed a well drilled 352/343 can work wonders, I think it helps not many teams play it outside the Premier League. Sheff U also did it well this season. As did Paul Cook's Wigan in League 1. I have zero faith in Bruce implementing it well.
  20. He can be an ok player in this league if he quickens up on the ball. Not carrying it, just moving it on in possession. He'salways looked too ponderous for us, but Forest/Barnsley fans have said he looks good at times. We can use him as a squaddie if we pass the ball.
