Kept it out but very nearly went straight through his hands. Looks nervous a lot of the time, even with his reactionary saves. Hope he settles down.

This guy ain't much good. Don't care about the goal. Blasted at him from 7 yards. Very tough. But the low save to his right, and the late header. Technique all over the place. Not good at all.

Villa have played well in about 3 games under Bruce.

You're getting yourself too tied up in this no 9 stuff. What will you do when we sign a good one if Bruce is still in charge? Another excuse will be found I'm sure. Because the team will still be turgid and look like they don't know what formation they're playing.

I think he's a good player for where we are. Real Bruce style short-term signing though. Expensive and will probably just be brought down to our current level of gash.

Yes. He's strangled us horribly. Once again I will say...if we were getting these results in the premier league, even with these vile performances. It'd be much more acceptable. But we aint. There's no benefit in trying to grind out results in this league when getting this squad playing would see us promoted automatically without issue.

And it's four this season. To go with the 35+ last season. Three wins and a draw though so it blinds people. Unsustainable muck. This isn't the premier league! If we were grinding out these results in the top-flight, against proper teams it'd be acceptable. We're playing garbage football against garbage teams in a garbage league. Sod the media reaction, he's got to go. But it's been that way since September last season. Hope the new owners make the best decision for the club and send him packing.

Quite funny how often people point to stats to try and degrade him. Absolute Rolls Royce. It's nice and easy to pinpoint those who either don't understand the game, or don't watch Villa. -
Pass and move/playing on the break/getting it wide/tikataka/gegenpressing. Whatever floats your boat. Having a distinct plan is key. We don't have one.

Last minute winners = good Steve Bruce football = bad What a treat those who currently enjoy watching us have to come. It'll blow your mind when we start consistently passing and moving. It's like it's been forgotten that we're in the Championship. This isn't the elite we're playing against. It's teams that we've got about 20x the budget of.

Didn't see today but interesting thoughts. Can't wait to see McGinn. I'm not a big fan of Hourihane as he disappears constantly. His goals make him valuable though so I agree, getting him in the team is worthwhile. I think some real wheels on the right hand side would give us some options if this played out as you suggested. -
This is a good shout. I just hope the improvement comes because it never did consistently for me last season. If we'd have played a bit more, we'd have easily gone up automatically. With a team this good, we can go up again. Relying on individual talent isn't really a tactic that's worth paying £2m a year for.
