We won't be employing Steve Bruce this time round.

Henry is certainly exciting. Pairing him with Terry is suddenly looking expensive as they must have some decent coaches in there with them as well. I don't see either of them as a lead man on the training field. I still think the lack of the right coaches really did for Bruce. He started off badly with Clement and Calderwood and after a good bounce, Agnew didn't turn the ship around. Lampard/Gerrard have gone into their respective clubs with strong training ground coaches who they clearly knew very well. This would the main concern if Henry is brought in. But yes, exciting stuff though!

Lack of confidence does weird things to people. Only Grealish and unfortunately Hutton ever really want the ball in our team. If we can get some wins together, as if by magic everyone will start wanting the ball and this lopsided squad will pull teams all over the place. Not sure how many we'll keep out like, but we can score 3+ a game in this league.

We can go up. This league is garbage.

Speculate to accumulate. We aren't much a proposition for a top manager right now today. But we have a squad that could romp to the championship title and with a bit more strength, survive in the PL. Then, we're a better prospect for the career of a manager than Shakhtar, even with their UCL football.

Really surprised they've gone for it at this stage, just before a single game followed by a big break. Last int. window was the time these boys should have struck, we could have plenty more points. Removing the fool a huge relief though.

I know, he's terrible. Anyone with attacking ideas will get an immediate bounce hopefully. The players will feel as good as the fans. Potato-shackles free, this side can put together some great football.

Understand your point but Bruce is "big" for this league. He's probably the biggest manager down here, name-wise, and perhaps physically as well. I think the players will be invigorated by anyone with fresh ideas immediately. Certainly if they want to play football.

Same situation over 12 months ago.

He's not delusional. He's an incapable liar who knows exactly what he's doing. He wants to leave but doesn't want to lose the payoff. Don't particularly blame him for that. As well as all the other damage he's doing, our "easy" start to the season is being used up. When he gets sacked, the new man has to pick us up off the floor and content with a brutal Christmas fixture list. This is akin to Garde being given Sherwood's hospital pass. We've got max two games to get a new man in with the hope he can get some momentum from Swansea/Norwich/QPR/Bolton. After that it's Derby/Blues/Forest/Boro/WBA/Stoke/Leeds.

"I won't walk away from a challenge" Credit to him, he's absolutely taken Aston Villa to the cleaners. He's made so much money off us and produced utter bilge with zero to minimum effort. It will be so much more enjoyable watching Cowans and Delaney on the sideline. Better chance of getting promoted as well!

Excellent. He's a player I remember vividly as well. Two career matches! Can't believe so few.

So true you can say it thrice. He wants to Sam life now, Coming in short-term for big bonuses. He'll do better with that than being left to build something. He's done forever with anyone as big as Villa now.

Good time to get a player like this signed on I'd say. If his was at the top of his game, he may not fancy signing one.

I think that'd be a big win for him. He'll revel in saying it was the only the end when he struggled. We played this way all last season, he should have gone during his first summer here. His legacy for me is one of, if not the worst manager in 30 years. No one else has had us in the second division, facing weaker opposition almost every week. He's been given brilliant resources to build a team to play any way he wants and this is what he's come up with. Oh, and he keeps sniping at fans when he's had 99% support at 99% of his matches.

Been this way 99% of matches under him. Glad you can see it now. Sad that we've had poor people at the top who wouldn't take action when achievements could still be reached.
