  1. He stayed on because he works so hard I think. Won the ball chasing back a couple of times after that one really bad miss. I'm inclined to agree with you, but I think Deano could see he was still having a positive effect overall.
  2. We're so great though aren't we. After we get rid of that keeper, get a proper left back and CB cover... How many games after Jan 1st? 18? Stick 54 points onto our tally right now.
  3. We couldn't last 10 mins without him. Yes the guy handled it in, and the keeper gave his usual trash attempt at being a goalie. But we should have been knocking it around, looking after the ball... and dare I say it, drawing fouls! If he stayed on I think we'd have won.
  4. Weird player. Soft as puppy dirt sometimes, but then others he's very clever and bumps people off the ball before they know what happened. Brilliant tonight. That bit out on the touchline outrageous. Genuinely taking the mick. Perfect for Smith's system that gives him opportunities to run at players.
  5. I actually thought he was a bit unlucky with that goal. He basically wins it then slips over. Unsteady on his feet I suppose though. Must start ahead of Taylor left back though. About as big of an upgrade over him as Elmo is over Hutton himself at RB. Marginal gains which we need at the back.
  6. His very first touch he skipped inside and should have hit a shot, thought he was going to lash it in. But I think the obvious instruction that he needs to be more of a team player was ringing in his ears and he turned left and passed wide. Shame he then went on to put no effort into anything else. Very little natural understanding of what the right thing to do is. Lots and lots of work to do. Look at the contrast with him and Abraham tonight. Tammy was largely poor tonight and still bust his arse chasing things, winning challenges, offering himself for players.
  7. It was immediately before? They got his flick, launched it forward and scored. Others culpable for the defending obviously. I agree it's good to try things around their box. Just frustrating as it was a really crap flick He waited for it and telegraphed it, before then miskicking it.
  8. I think he'll be the first attacking change next match after that from Kodj. Either on the left or Tammy will go for a run out there.
  9. Oh Tammy. Worked really hard as usual. General play very good. But man that one chance really cost us. Easy to say, but I think we'd have scored again after as they'd have been pushing right up. He had others as well. Silly flick for their first as well. Never going to connect that return ball. We know their danger is on the break and you gift them the ball when we're in a great position. Want to see him take it out on Stoke and bag another hat-trick.
  10. What? No, not one game. Every game of his Villa career he's been on the scale of terrible to average.
  11. A big soft waster. Sick of it. Handball by them, but the position he gets himself in is so weird. It's still behind the forward when the ball comes across. Rodriguez has his hands up presuming he's going to get clattered. If he'd have headed it in, it would have just flown into an empty net.
  12. We're so good. Missed a million chances and done by a ref decision.
  13. Better at left back than Taylor. Should be starting there.
  14. I'd bring Hutton in for Taylor. Sick of him getting caught on the ball. Also worried about Hourihane and Chester losing possession in dangerous areas. Going forward, Bolasie will roast the lad from man city time after time. Could do with scoring early to open them up more.
  15. He won't touch that job. Too much risk of going down. More brains than Lambert.
  16. He's floating there in case of an injury I'd imagine. If Chester got injured in training, he'd be signed the next day.
  17. Yeah, slightly wary of anyone who has been injured forever and then not played since. He was bloody good before the injury though.
  18. It really is so good, I've got a weird feeling when the losses come, they'll be bad. That feeling comes from years as a Villa fan, not on what I'm watching.
  19. 1) For £40m+ yes. I'd be gutted though. 2) Yeah because I trust the guy in charge. Probably unwise, but I'm feeling good about Aston Villa atm. We've got a lot of huge earners off the wage bill at the end of the season. 3) Don't see a question there. Sounds alright if we don't go up I suppose yeah. Don't want to sell Grealish though. I don't think he'll be itching to leave either, especially if we keep playing like this.
  20. I agree. Hopefully Smith and Villa's form will continue because you can see there is a system in place. It's a bloody attacking system, but there's one there, and the players stick to it.
  21. One of my favourite players ever. I was at his debut and watched him become a player getting bollocked by Southgate and Ugo. Had that funny 18 month spell when he was the best left sided English midfielder by so far it was farcical Sven would never have him in his squad with no left mids. 25 year old Barry into our current midfield and we win the league with games to spare.
