People like Holloway...if anyone even whispers Aston Villa he automatically praises Bruce. He talks about him in glowing terms every time we're brought up on the radio. He praised him after we beat Sheff Wed 3-1. He praised him after Dean Smith won us promotion. It's like a weird tick. It'll have really pissed Bruce off us going up, he'll be sick as a dog about it. Delighted.

I think this silence is him considering a 25-50% pay cut and one year deal. I think he'll take it because no one else is going to give him much more, and as has been said, he's settled.

Good player, good signing. Doubt it's quite as high as £4m + Gardner, wouldn't be surprised to see Evans inflate that to try and raise some ire. He's still smarting from the Tammy embarrassment.

His last few appearances his effort definitely fell away. He knows he's not good enough and doesn't seems to be able to work through it. His wages will be £50k+ now, probably £60k+. We're going to have to swallow our pride here and try to get £2m off someone and pay 70% of his wages for the first two years. Grim.

Doesn't really have the position to suit the system. If he works hard to adapt, I've no doubts Smith would give him a go. A loan until Jan to Luton or something would be great.

Purslow quite bullish on the no loans thing. Smith has said it before as well. Needs must though. If you offer me Axel or Tammy today on loan for the whole season next I think it's a good deal. Yes we're developing then for someone else but the benefit is us getting use of the player for a season. Maybe we can get more halfway house arrangements with fixed fees clauses in there.
