  1. The epitome of a training ground coach. Don't think it matters if you're a 17-year-old in your first 1st team session, or a guy who has just won the World Cup, ROK will treat you the same. Been described as "the bad cop" numerous times by Smith and Terry, it's good there's a balance amongst the coaching team.
  2. We wouldn't loan an 18-year-old to not buy him. He ain't gonna get in the team regularly. If we do, I look forward to taking notes on Purslow expert back-pedalling. Bet he does it really well and you end up agreeing with him.
  3. Ben? He's not as good for me. He's a decent player but I think he'd get sent off a lot in the PL. Doesn't have the legs or willingness to get on the ball Phillips does, that's vital for us under Smith. I've talked myself into paying anything up to £20m for Phillips, I've never seen him be anything less than 8/10 for Leeds. He plays the exact role we need to fill.
  4. Pickford has a horrible habit of showing how far he can kick it. Like to blam it out of play for a goal kick at the other end couple of times a match. He must think that's good.
  5. I think in organisation this may be fair. But for reaction saves/one on ones... Pickford=Butland>Heaton I'm not a huge fan of Butland to be honest. £20m feels expensive and it will be even more than that. It's the sort of transfer we can hopefully look back on in three years though and just laugh at what a bargain we've got. With what will possibly be a completely new defence for Aston Villa in front of him, I think a British keeper who doesn't need to settle into anything other than the team will be a plus.
  6. Thanks, not seen that before. Two feet is nice. Excited to see how he fits in. Currently he's the only one of the back 4 that will lineup v Spurs at the club.
  7. The hope would be we can buy him I'd imagine. He has a year left on his deal with 1 year option, so basically two in this scenario. £40m to have him and Mings at the back? I think that's worth it overall.
  8. Because he can't defend well in the championship, he'd get roasted in the PL every game. He's an excellent crosser, and was a huge part of our winning run because we were on the front foot for 75% of our time on the pitch since Jack came back v Derby in the 4-0. Hopefully Fred Gilbert will be solid but he'll need to offer something going forward as well in Dean's side. Doubt he'll be as good a crosser to be honest so hopefully his general play will make up for it.
  9. Agreed with everything he brings. A figure like him will be huge in the dressing room with so many new players coming in. If he wants to join, he'll hand in a transfer request. If we go to America without him in, it'll be a blow to preparations already as he was such a key man. Wouldn't rule out us moving on.
  10. He's being clever with his use of social media. It's loud without being enough to be reprimanded by Bournemouth. If these roles were reversed everyone would be up in arms on here. Obviously not Bournemouth though, say it was a Leeds or Newcastle who has just come up and our player was flirting with all their fans on the internet. He's achieved meme status due to that 10 game win streak as well, so the club is under a bit of pressure to buy him I'd say. Bournemouth should charge a fortune, and I'd definitely be keeping him right up to the start of the season. If he wants to move a transfer request should go in. His performances were fantastic last year, but I don't think he's worth £20m as just a player. Maybe as a symbol he is. Like batman or something.
  11. Disagree. Many many other managers could have come in and got better results and performances with the resources available. Whole club had issues at the time with Wyness and Xia in charge though. The steps that happened have took us to this point which is ultimately a good thing.
  12. Hopefully this will be one we can look back on and say money well spent. Seems steep to me only because I've never watched him and thought he was brilliant. Great age and no "settling in" needed, he probably won't even have to move house.
  13. Always cool when people do that. He must be cool.
  14. I know prices have gone mad but don't think he's a £20m player. Bournemouth would have sold him to us for £8m in January.
  15. He's an Arsenal player. But they'll be selling him for £10-15m this summer as they've got no dosh. Never been impressed much myself.
  16. A false 9...the size of a house! Always a bonus in the PL to have a bit of physicality.
  17. Be stunned if this Dunk stuff is real. He'd cost a fortune.
  18. While we're here, we should be hoovering up players like Bayliss and Turnbull for £3m a piece. Have a look, if not ready, out they go to someone like Luton or Barnsley for the season. Maddison signed for Norwich when they were in the PL, straight into their team when they got relegated. Sold for £25m one year later.
  19. Wasn't Evans first on Jota? Presumably with info he got from Blues. Will keep an eye out, useful to know who can be trusted.
  20. He's never stood out for me I must say. Can't remember him dropping any clangers though. Good age, good all rounder, but will need to work on feet. It's a position that's sorted.
