Yep, absolutely. If the day comes, it might sting if it's not the mad fees we see all the time. Right now though, the question is: Do you want this player for 12-24 months and we'll give you £5-10m? My answer is yes. Yes I do.

The price for players in the Prem has exploded though. I imagine before the season starts we'll be offering John a new 4 or 5 year deal on 40-70k a week. Once he signs that his price is £50m, and it's already probably £40m.

I've got mates who are Bury and Tranmere fans. Plus one who was never really into football but has adopted Salford as he lives right by ground. Maybe I'll visit them. Us and no other teams should be allowed a U23 side though. Another way that allows big teams to hog all the players.

Him having players who are confident on the ball around him will be an absolute joy to watch. I give it two or three games before teams start man marking him again. I just hope he stays fit. Watched a compilation of him last season other day and he does have that Wilshere thing of hanging on to it until the very last second and gets a frequent clattering. -

More I think about this I reckon it might be an obligation type thing. They have to buy him back from us for £20m next summer. Something like that. We're doing it as a service to get him in and get him a WP.

The buy back isn't going to be £15.1m. It's going to make us money. City wouldn't be selling him to us ordinarily at all. Certainly not for £15m, I'd imagine they'd want £25m. They've just bought their Fernandinho replacement for £65m.
