  1. And yet, none will buy him because he's crap. I'm trying to figure out what sort of wind-up you are. Please be more entertaining like @screwdriver, it's all samey samey at the moment.
  2. By the end he could hardly play football, I don't know what happened to him. He would, head down so he could see it, really carefully trap the ball; then rotate himself around it with the ball stationary and pass it straight to the opposition. When he was 18 for Wimbledon he was 10x better than by the time he was getting released by Villa at age 29. It's not supposed to work like that.
  3. Great shout. Perfect side for him. He's got work to do. He has to get games and learn how to play without thinking everything has to be a game winning pass. Carlisle fans generally rated him so that's good. He's only 2 months older than Green, interesting Deano seems to really like Green and keeps giving him chances, O'Hare less so.
  4. NRC was an OK organiser but horribly limited. He was a better all round player when he was 20 than when he was 26. He went backwards as he got older, really weird.
  5. Really? Must have missed that news! Where was it reported?
  6. What have you seen of him to say that. Him and Doug likely to have similar amount of time with the team pre-Spurs. One of them is starting, I reckon it's going to be Marvelous.
  7. It wasn't a left "winger" as such though. The shape Tim came up with was actually incredibly effective. The old school narrow Christmas tree formation, 4-3-2-1, but Jack and N'Zogbia were fairly narrow behind the big man up top. Having said that, he could go out there this season and be one of the better left wingers in the league.
  8. Mount didn't show top 4 quality for me last season. Neither did Tammy. Not seen much of Hudson-Odoi, he's certainly got the hype.
  9. He's appeared on Fantasy PL without the club even confirming he's got a WP.
  10. Marvelous Nakamba and Baptise Santamaria would be the best named midfield football has ever seen. Get them both in.
  11. My only issue with Smith is a possible inflexibility in his formation. He's only tried something else than his 433/4141 for 45/60 mins in his whole time here. He's got the definitive way he plays and that's great, he knows exactly what he wants, and the players worked into it well last year. I just think we need something else to try if we've had 4 or 5 poor performances in a row. A freshen up. With so many CBs now available a 3 at the back could be worth a go. No problem with him having a preferred system he's confident in and is the way to play most of the time. It'll definitely help having some strength in depth as new faces can be put into the same 433 and we might see a change in fortunes.
  12. He's missed the boat I'm afraid. If he wanted to come be shouldve "forced" earlier.
  13. Agreed. Hope Wilf leaves them as they'll be another one I can pen as in the mix with us.
  14. I don't think he was good at all. Didn't feel the need to post it as I was enjoying posting positive stuff in McGinn's thread, and he's always poor so it's hardly news. Surprised he's getting so many minutes pre-season. Can't believe he'll be making the bench in anything other than league cup. Get him somewhere he's going to play every game until January.
  15. Centre mid competition then... DM: Luiz, Nakamba CM: Grealish, McGinn, Lansbury, Hourihane I think either of the DMs could play further up if needed, neither is a true "Makelele" (or "Whelan" if you prefer) who doesn't go forward. We've then got Jota who could possibly sit in a very advanced central role. Hourihane could be used as a hefty makeweight if we're trying to save some money and buying anyone from the Championship. Don't think there would be as much interest in Lansbury as he hardly played last year, Hourihane's stock will never be this high again.
  16. Absolutely no chance sir. Elmo can't defend. He couldn't in the championship. He became a good weapon in a team on the front foot 70% in every match they played from March onwards last year. Fred G will be starting every PL match he's available for this season.
  17. Story of £50m was weeks ago and it came up in conversation higher up the page. I don't think anyone has offered it.
  18. He doesn't know when he's beaten and backs himself in all situations. I think he's going to steadily improve even more this season. I wouldn't accept £50m.
  19. Delph had a good 6 months and that was it really. He was loaned out to League One (I think) Leeds while he was here! Was unlucky under MON though, should have played much more often. Still surprises me how our own fans underrate Grealish. Delph isn't fit to lace his boots, he's a top 4 level player right now, God knows how good he'll be when he peaks. I do have a horrible feeling someone is going to smash him and badly injure him this season. Some wild swinger like Delph is as likely as anyone. The over-reliance won't be as bad this year purely because of the turn around in players. Even McGinn struggled when Jack was out the team, he had no one to pass to! We've now got more than a few really good consistent players going forward. We'll be weaker if he's out, but we were beaten half the time walking out without him last season.
  20. I was looking for this thread yesterday but couldn't see it on page 1 or 2! I'd imagine he might get a half of the red bull game just to get him in the side. He can save us a load of striker money as I think he's good enough to be backup. It's tricky signing a "backup" as well, feels like a waste. Maupay for example would costs at least £14m you'd think. Attitude key once more for Kodj. Tammy used to scream at him when they shared the pitch and I imagine Wes will be the same. If he wants to, he can still get in the starting XI this season I think. Not from the off, but I reckon he could force his way in when he's really on.
  21. I think that's decent. Surely in the season he'll get at least 2.
  22. I think he looks quite slow tbh. He's not an athletic player, he's a technical one. He can play football so he'll fit in and play some good stuff, but may get some roastings this year.
  23. I don't want to see him on the pitch this season. Hause showed in about two games last season he's got much more going forward and defensively. Can't believe he stayed in the team.
