    End of this season he has two years left. He seems to value football over money so I hope for his career he doesn't sign a new contract at Chelsea if this season doesn't work out for him. Be nice to see him back and progress here. He had a lot of areas to improve on despite his great record last season.

    Yeah, Grealish could have made that pass. It would have to had been a genuine worldie. Outside of the foot round the goal side of the last man. But he's good enough to make it, and there's the curse of being him, people expect wonder balls others wouldn't even see. He's going to have a huge season I think.

    Danish winger turning down a move to the PL seems odd. Feels like Scandinavians usually do alright here.

    I'm honestly still reeling from Taylor and Elmohammady, I can't believe it. I wonder again if Dean will try and keep the number of changes fairly low. Definitely be changing full backs and DM me but I don't know if he'll think that's too severe. Hope El Ghazi gets another game, I worry for him if he's in and out. Obviously no hint of that happening yet, but Trez looked very good and Jota I think will provide a good contrast to him on the other side despite poor spurs showing.

    I like to think if you've got that hair, you're bloody good and know it. I'll forever think the same when I see particularly garish pair of boots like the horrors Jack is wearing.

    That interview really is worth a look. He's so good. The approach we've taken has been spot on, and I'll probably think that even if we finish 20th to be honest. The only thing that will have gone wrong is the quality of the player we've ended up with. Scouting under the microscope with so many debuts still to come. PL players are out there somewhere for £10-15m but aren't easy to find. Hopefully we've got 12/12 bang on.

    The best midfield three in the league is Rodri, KDB, Bernardo. The second best is Fernandinho, David Silva, Gundogan.

    Fan of Westwood me. Would be great option for us now. Constantly showed for the ball, the opposite of what Hourihane does when it matters, when it's hard. Many players can sit alongside Jack Grealish and John McGinn and look great when the going is good. The only way Hourihane will be playing much in the league this season is if both Luiz and Marvelous bomb.

    Kodjia just played himself behind Davis I think. It was really poor from him, certainly didn't get much but did absolutely zero with any sniff he did have. A 2-0 win v Bournemouth, Wes and Keinan off the bench late on to finish the job would help Deano so much going forward. Hopefully a run without goals won't bother Wes going forward, he's fairly experienced for a young guy. But Keinan would grow a couple of foot if he can grab a goal I reckon.

    Just read them and must have missed those posts? Is this more crying when someone had commented on a performance? On a forum meant for discussion. Who has written him off?

    Jota and Kodjia were guilty of trying clever or ambitious passes whenever it got near them. Wasn't what we needed. We hadn't had the all for 10-20 mins and they're trying first time balls back into dangerous positions. It was the mark of what we've seen for years, cowardly play when the pressure is on. Getting rid of it as soon as you can so you aren't the one to lose it. Need more Grealish and McGinn responsibility bearing please. Most players here have got the ability, just not the mentality.

    I didn't see this thread before the mods had to clear out so maybe I missed some. But what I've seen much more of is people responding to criticism of any player or decision with flapping. "X didn't play well. Y shouldn't have been on the team. Z could have done better." WE'RE ONE GAME INTO THE SEASON STOP MOANING What's the point of the forum?

    Last year many shrivelled into their shell whenever it got difficult. Hopefully some of the new players can stop our squad doing that.
