  1. I'm afraid it'll be that way for a while while us losing is the norm. No one really cares. If that was a Liverpool goal getting them a point at Burnley, firstly they'd have given it, secondly if it was disallowed it would be getting brought up every day until the PL kicks off again in 2 weeks.
  2. Signing a good forward in January will be tricky if we're anywhere near the bottom, which you have to think is likely.
  3. If we come 20th we still haven't done a Fulham.
  4. Could only half watch on Saturday but I thought McGinn was impressive, especially when we went to 10.
  5. I've just about given Jack the benefit of the doubt with that goal in that he was unlucky it ricocheted into an incredibly perfect spot for Ayew. Bet that wouldn't happen if McGinn was there though. It all would have gone into the stands, ball, man and Mings probably along with them. Anyway, Jack was unlucky and had made sure he got back to help out. But it was his lazy, poor cross that launched their attack. If you watch again, we had loads of players forward, including Engels and Guilbert for the first time since we went down to 10. Jack's ball was hopeful and nothing more and it was that rather than the deflections at the other end that I'm more annoyed at looking at that goal. I rate Jack so highly that chance balls like that from him annoy me. If it was someone like Hourihane who I don't trust to do anything with responsibility, I wouldn't be surprised see it. We need Jack to be better. I think he will be as time goes on.
  6. Can we change the name of the thread to relegation or something, annoying me. Isn't this the same as the PL 2019/20 thread?
  7. Hope not. Said before he needs to be willing to try another system. Been here a year almost and we've only played 45 minutes that wasn't 4-3-3. Even in the horrible run last year between the two West Brom league games, same setup every week. When the team needs a change to shake it up a new shape can give something different, even if he doesn't want to change the players too much.
  8. He got nailed numerous times yesterday. Body check in the first half was such a joke. Any of our players doing that to any of theirs he'd have given a foul. Ref got exactly what he wanted, big cheer from the home fans.
  9. Issues clear. We still haven't played well for me. Feels like the team is always too far away from each other, certainly when we go forward. I still think Taylor is a huge issue when we're in possession, we can't go to that side of the pitch, if we do teams can just close the CBs down and it ends up with the keeper. Team is trying I think, hard work is there. A problem is we're rushing so hard to get the ball then rushing too much when we've got it. There's no period of relaxed possession, can't build anything. It'll look smelly if we get nothing from West Ham, bearing in mind we were robbed of a point yesterday.
  10. That was made for him today. Funnily enough, when I saw the bench, the main reason I was disappointed was because I just thought there's no scenario where Hourihane and Lansbury both make it on! Not convinced Wes off needing a goal was a great move, but Smith was a bit stuck really. Couldn't take Keinan back off.
  11. Nice touches late on when we actually got it into his feet. Not sure what the answer is, but we aren't getting him into the game enough, and when he's quiet, he also isn't making enough happen.
  12. Don't know who it was but someone got the biggest McGinn arsing off of the season. Van Aanholt maybe? Was down their left. Very funny.
  13. Smarten up FFS. Appreciate what's going on around you. Before getting sent off he didn't listen to the call from Grealish when McGinn had played a perfect ball in for him. Slow down. He's going too fast for his brain to follow.
  14. Kevin not my friend any more. Played the homer today. Easy one to play as you get adulation.
  15. Bench: Steer, Lansbury, Hourihane, Konsa, El Ghazi, Elmo, Davis
  16. Team: Heaton Guilbert Engels Mings Taylor John, Jack & Doug Jota Wes Trez
  17. Stop Wilf and they don't score IMO. He played up front v Sheff U and on the right wing v Man Utd. I think they'll play the same shape as Sheff U and look to come at us, but I do wonder if Wilf will be kept wide. If he's central, Doug has a game on, big test for the lad. These are the games I came for Deano. You said we were going to try and win every game. I'd love a front foot performance to help us achieve that.
  18. He'll need a couple of Pickford errors to get into the side I think. I think Heaton's footwork will improve loads here and they're already steady. Short range 25-40m passes can really help us get out without a percentage long ball. They'll be working on it loads every day and he'll need it to be top to secure a position ahead of Pope.
  19. I think it's more Mount is playing for Chelsea and Jack's been defending on the edge of our box for two of our three games. The more we run games, the more influence Jack will have. Right now, there's no way Mount is a better player than him for me. Lingard? Nah Barkley? Nah Winks? Nah He'll get into this squad if we have a good season, I'm certain. Lingard won't be making the euros so there's a spot right there.
  20. I will agree if he got a bit nastier and physical he could see himself that there's another level there. He gets outmuscled sometimes by guys half his size and speed. When he's not playing well, you can see when he's going to lose the ball 5 seconds before he goes. He's certainly not been bad this season, but he really could be a decent Champions League footballer if he can figure his own game out.
  21. Like the idea myself, but Deano loves his wingers. And we'll have to wait until Targett is fit to try it definitely Like though of Trez as a nippy forward, bet he'd be a nightmare to mark.
