  1. Loads of pace and work-rate. Some on-the-ball ability. Teeny tiny brain. Doesn't understand any situation for what it is. He just acts as fast as he can with whatever action is quickest to carry out at that particular moment. Get some composure in his game and he'll be a right menace.
  2. Us and Newcastle look comfortably the worst teams in the league which is a shame. I feel like the players are good enough actually. They aren't doing it though and the setup is wrong, the mindset is wrong. Biggest issue is we're rushing everything when we've got the ball. McGinn and Grealish get tired around 60/70 mins because they're spending most of the first half sprinting forward or sprinting back. Crack that and I think we'll see returns.
  3. You think they'll get 45 points? They were terrible today. We brought them into the game. Invited them in, took their coat and offered them a drink.
  4. I'm presuming the game plan is to sit back as that's what we've done all season? If it's not, he could have changed Nakamba who was rabbit in the headlights whole match on the ball for Lansbury? That would have settled us. Hourihane for McGinn as McGinn wasn't holding position very well? Here's an idea, he could have done something instead of nothing.
  5. Arsenal are not a good side. They were terrible today. With our performance that could have been Watford and the same would have happened.
  6. Rubbish today I thought. Overall performance is floating round between 4-6/10. Doesn't seem to be doing enough.
  7. 100% his fault that second. Backed off as usual letting things play out. See what happens. Anything to not get involved. Oh someone on this pitch who is trying to play football and has just scored. Stealing a living. Sick of watching him. Go away. What the hell he's even doing in the squad is a mystery to me and all the other players.
  8. Players didn't do much for him but that was a disaster. Real carcrash. Going out to win every match? Is that a lie then or are the players disobeying instructions? Right now it looks like a PR line because we are absolutely not attacking. Every time we did, they had no answer really, we were getting chances but we sat off and got deeper and deeper. Surely the 2-1 goal made it clear, ah if we go forward we'll win this. Go and get Hourihane or Lansbury, put them on for Nakamba or whoever you bloody want and tell them to keep the ball. It was madness. So careless. Only some players are allowed to be taken off due to fatigue it seems. McGinn and Grealish out on their arse most of second half. How can he not see that happening? I don't understand. That was Steve Bruce stuff from Smith today. I can't say anything worse. Absolutely terrible. The game happened around him. Please Dean. Please drop Taylor. Please. Admit you're wrong, send him off to the reserves never to be seen again. And just to finish that Arsenal are terrible. We have them that. That could have been Watford or Newcastle and the same would have happened. We walked then by the hand back into the game.
  9. I'd be more forgiving v City and Liverpool. But these aren't good at all. We're being horribly wasteful in attack. Great. Pen.
  10. Jack been brilliant but he is nervous. As unsure of his own passing as I've ever seen him. Anything other than a win when already 1-0 up vs 10 men for 60 mins isn't acceptable really. But I'm a big wet blanket so I'd take a point now. Losing this would obliterate confidence. They're open, we can score again.
  11. That 17 or 18 year old Saka starting for Arsenal. Probably bag himself a few goals to settle in.
  12. Bench: Steer, Lansbury, Hourihane, Kinda, Jota, Elmo, Keinan
  13. Team: Heaton FredG, Mingels, Taylor John, Jack & Marvelous Trez, Wes & El Ghazi
  14. I reckon he'd be some sort of Maldini and Alan Wright werewolf.
  15. Incorrect. 100% wrong. Desperate to see some good performances from him because it looks like he's in the team to stay. I'd keep him in v Arsenal actually as we're likely to have so little of the ball.
  16. Sorry I know I just quoted but I've just seen this...and want to share some guff. It's not something I would do because he's too good in the middle for us but McGinn would be a ridiculously good left back. Like silly good. I almost want to see him tried there because God knows his ceiling. I think he could play for Champions League contenders as a left back.
  17. He's been OK in purely defence yes. Honestly I don't think he's been good or brilliant, if you do, lovely, but he's certainly not a safe pair of hands I trust. But look at the overall picture regardless. We're so lopsided. None of the players want to give him the ball. When he does get it, everything stops, the other team resets and starts to push forward because you know he's got nothing. On the attacking side of things, he has been "bad" I'm afraid, he's been stifling and I think it'll be a huge improvement on that side when we get someone who can help us hold the ball in possession. It doesn't have to be a direct error for us to be negatively affected. Bit like last year when we were in smelly form and Hourihane was killing us in the middle of the pitch. He was never the one to lose the ball or get caught in possession but he was hiding from every bit of responsibility he could and shoveling off hospital passes so other people were being dispossessed.
  18. You're right, quite worrying for me that actually. Tremendous waste of money if he isn't better than Taylor. Then again, he got it wrong with Guilbert not starting the season. Fingers crossed Targett's a similar step up in level as Fred G is to Elmo and Deano has just misread it or played it overly cautious.
  19. In his pomp Young was the best diver I've ever seen. Tom Daley stuff. Defenders couldn't get near him, and if they did it was 50/50 he'd win a FK.
  20. We've watched Taylor look average at absolute best in the Championship for three seasons. It's wild people are now saying he's a good defender. He's guff. If Targett is worse in defence the he'll have to be incredible going forward to be a worthwhile signing at £11-14m. He is very tidy on the ball, we'll look much more composed with him in the team. We've been pegged back deep in our half for much of the season which means less space in behind, maybe that's why Taylor is finding it easier? There's still about 5 players I'd play there ahead of him.

As usual Parker and Stone nailed it.
  22. We need to attack to get anything. Sitting back will only lead to the David O'Leary style 2-0 loss we showed up for.
  23. I'd rather bring Targett in v Burnley just because we're likely to lose Arsenal game anyway. Don't want confidence being dented.
  24. I agree, Wes hasn't looked anywhere near as good as Benteke. He looks scared and out his depth. Step one is to get some aggression to his game. There's no desire to get the ball, which is the opposite to what the reviews of him were when he arrived. There's hope along with plenty of work to do.
