I would have liked Keinan and Luiz both in. But we murdered Burnley first half last week. Play like that again v the much less solid Norwich and we're going into HT 3-0 up. 3-3 draw be a good result I reckon.

At some point this season, probably more than once, we're going to lose the ball in a disastrous area. Man City did against Norwich so I hope we're sensible with what we're trying to do. That goes for the press at the other end as well, we need to standoff them until they're 30 yards out or they'll cut us open from the front.

Taylor is my go to because he's crap. Hourihane following closely because of his disappearing act. Wes will need a whole season of tripe before he gets into their league. Christ no, I'll be over the moon. I'm just saying I think he's been poor, goals today won't retrospectively improve previous performances. Don't care much about 2 in 7 or maybe 5 in 7 tbh, he's clearly not a poacher who's going to have quiet seasons but still pick up 15+ goals. If he had 0 goals but had played well, I think we'd have picked up more points already. He looks self-conscious I think. Unsure of himself. Needs to shake it. Reports from Brugge fans that he was "invincible" as a target man, not seen that yet. PL is 100% a step up but for the size of him, he has to do better holding the ball when it comes to him. He won nothing v Burnley whether a long ball or a ball passed into his feet, every ball was lost, hardly battled for. Keinan wouldn't have lost every ball and Wes has to do better. I'm hoping from Smith's comments he's fired up for Norwich and their heavily injured team.

Abuse? Starts to feel he isn't wanted? Is he on a fan discussion board thumbing through posts? I would advise against that for any player. He's been really really poor. If he bangs a hat-trick tomorrow that won't mean he's played well in the last seven. He should be giving Smith something back. I expect a performance with effort at least.

Smith's comments tell me he's starting. Give me some fight Wes. People aren't going to let you have the ball. Smith is showing a lot of faith here, Wes has to give him something.

I think Terry needs to get hold of him for some one to one work. He knows first-hand what strikers do that are tough to defend against. Perhaps more within Wes' grasp for now...Terry also knows what's a real pain to play against. He just has to do more. Good to hear from the boss he's aware that performance wasn't acceptable.

The key thing at the moment is we're far from cut adrift. It's the top two, then Leicester, then the next 17. Arsenal are 4th and they were terrible against us, we gave them the win. So while it's frustrating, we're playing OK and still in the mix.

That's monstrous for us. I feared the worse with no news coming out about him. Luiz in for Hourihane and either Keinan or Kodj in for Wes we can win our next two.

It's definitely possible. There is more work to do elsewhere though.

I'd have played Targett and Guilbert every game this season. That's going top of my application form if Purslow loses his marbles and boots Smith.

He's definitely worse than Richardson. He can't play football. It's horrible to watch. Don't think I've ever seen other players so concerned about giving another player the ball. If he went down to league 2 he wouldn't stand out at all.

Well that's not going to happen is it. Proper top drawer? Aguero? Don't think that calibre of player will be coming to a relegation battle. Fork out? Wes was £22m and has been honking. Absolutely no chance we'll buy anyone for >£22m again in January. I agree with the point we might need it, but we aren't going to get it. I think we can succeed just with the addition of some solid players tbh. We can't keep carrying bad players, when Taylor, Wes and Hourihane all start that's been like having 8 players straight away. Wonder if we could get Odsonne Edouard, but he could be too expensive. Bruno Petkovic from Dinamo could be worth a look as well, used to playing as a target man.

The same sort of messages will pop up if we don't take 6 points off them this season.

TRO, even with all our weaknesses, if we'd had Barnes or Wood or a 26 year old Gabby, or any average striker in our team yesterday, we'd have trounced Burnley. We battered them! They are not a good team.

Watford haven't looked that bad the twice I've seen them. On the face of it though, we looked better than Burnley and only drew. We need a striker and a winger in January. Until then we need to try all options.

Watching Newcastle now, and even Burnley yesterday...I'm so glad we've got Smith as manager. Who wants to watch that nonsense every week? If it can win the title, I'd be up for it. But you know it can't. Burnley honestly, they're just a really good non-league team. Go and watch top of the table in your local league and they'll be doing that. Clatter it long and "make the most" of second/third balls. What does the future hold for them? Mid-lower table PL for anywhere between 2 and 20 years followed by eventual relegation? I'm alright thanks, I'd rather see my team try and pass the ball and actually enjoy what I'm watching.
