Connolly electric recently for them. Really started to shine in the cup v us funnily enough. Him and Maupay big dangers. I do think we'll come flying out the blocks though. Hopefully be going in 2-0 up.

It's absolutely not hindsight. There was huge deflation to see Taylor in the team on day one. 99% of people were looking forward to Guilbert after the preseason fun he'd had with Jota. It was clear the full backs were wrong. I was certainly having a right cry after 2 games and said we wouldn't win a league game this season if Elmo and Taylor play 90 mins, still think that's the case.

Good young player. Be tricky unless we're in a very good position January. He'll be in the Belgium squad at the euros and I imagine a big agent has already got hold of him so will see us as a risk.

There were some comments that I just think can't have been properly thought through around this. Clichés people just couldn't shake from their mind. The players you've listed plus Steer were not good enough for the bottom end of the PL and stuck out in our team in my opinion. It's very clear Targett and Guilbert should have started the season as well. Getting to game 7 to play obviously our best defence is a bit of a miss from Deano. Great that the league is so tight with us having City and Liverpool in successive matches. A win v Brighton would be massive.

His teammate Takumi Minamino is likely to be more available and would be a fantastic purchase. We can get him if we're midtable by January.

Agreed. Hospital pass from John. It's never a pass McGinn would have made if it was 1-0 though. He was just getting on with it. Still a weird pass to attempt from Mings, which he cocked up. Heaton was also very slow off his line and he was favourite when the pass happened to me. A messy, crap goal that will hopefully annoy everyone to sharpen up if they want clean sheets.

Contribute when we're not playing well, it's that simple. He hides away every single time it gets hard. He's very consistent in everything he does, positive and negative. He's brilliant at grabbing goals on the front foot, undoubtedly. He should have been brought on in the West Ham game, it was absolutely made for him. I'd start him v Brighton definitely, we're looking good. He, Jack and Targett combining and switching around really well.

I think he looked good in that brief cameo. Very clearly wants to play out. Knows what Smith wants, will try and do it all the time seemingly. Added bit of confidence that even though he's not starting he knows the manager rates him by shelling out £12m on him. Bjorn not done enough to justify a drop atm, he's absolutely fantastic. More sensible on the ball than Mings as well. Bright future. I'd be 100% starting him every cup game no matter how far we go, need to get this lad minutes. Wouldn't hear me complaining if we're safe by Feb/Mar and we start giving him more.

Some battered old, incorrect clichés are still tough to shake. International football is the highest level to play at. No doubt we played better teams in the Championship than Czech and Bulgaria. -
Never seen one, fairly inoffensive, player have such a negative effect on the team. He killed everything, and did do again when he got 30 mins v Burnley. Never want to see him play for us again. It's pointless, he's not going to improve at 30. Use Hause or a youth player, or Guilbert, or bloody anyone else.
