  1. 100% with you. This is what I want to see, I love it. The end game is correct. Also, we've been boned enough this season, delighted to pinch a win at the death. Having said all that... Against 10 men that was a really poor performance, Brighton had so many chances. No one bar Jack was particularly good, he alone dragged us to that win. The shape of the midfield was a right mess, even with the extra man. Look at poor Marvelous on the average position map... The game could have been 3-3 or Brighton could have won 4-3. We were far far too open and Smith must address this. Not just a manager or formation thing of course, those average positions can only give you an idea, that could have been a 4-0 win map. Hourihane was very poor throughout and McGinn lost his head a bit last 20/30 I thought, was trying strange passes and getting frustrated.
  2. Having done mostly nothing in his career he's scored around 80 goals in 90 games, it's farcical. Best see if he casts a shadow.
  3. Can't see this at all. He's messy and awkward. Right now he can improve hugely on absolutely everything. His shooting is incredibly annoying. Scuffs 90% of efforts.
  4. He absolutely has to start v Liverpool and City for his pace on the break.
  5. I thought Brighton were excellent yesterday. We weren't great and snuck a win. If we'd have played like that v Arsenal we'd have won by 2 or 3 goals, fear cost us v them.
  6. Edouard is a tidy player. Not certain he's got the holdup play if they want to charge £20m+ but then again we spent £22m on Wes who is a work in progress. Shankland isn't good enough IMO, we definitely don't suit him even if he is. Poacher who seems to have sold his soul to the devil and can't stop scoring the last few years. We aren't good enough to be carrying a poacher right now. Linked with Plea weren't we in the summer. He's been great for Monchengladbach this season. Probably out of our reach for January.
  7. Needs a bit of work when to hold off. He's so quick and keen to get the ball that on occasions he gets properly mugged and sells himself one-on-one, leaving us exposed. Made an incredible difference to us going forward though. Really like his confidence on the ball. Crossing can improve. Keep working on that.
  8. He's got modern-game shortcomings, but I just feel safe with him. And that's with a few errors this season! Bournemouth and I think Burnley he could have come for that cross. Everything is solid though, handling, organisation, shot stopping. Perfect for us right now.
  9. He finally looked like he found some confidence. Carried us on his back to a win we probably didn't deserve. Excellent. The dribble for the goal and the absurdly good assist aside, he had so many touches of class today. Great thing is there's still improvement to be made, some poor passes trying to serve chances up for team mates. Poor for Jack that is.
  10. Does so little...aside from score. Never seen anything like it. Today, a great goal unfairly (?) ruled out, and a sitter he missed. So zero goals, negligible contribution. Very poor game overall. He looked very slow today, the game was fizzing around him and he looked lost I thought.
  11. Can be selected. Would definitely have him on the bench. Out of contract at the end of the season. If we're going well I can see his contract being extended.
  12. What they hell are Scotland doing to their left backs?
  13. It's one of those annoying ones when you're scrapping at the bottom. A point for them will likely feel a bigger reward than it is for us. This is a must win. Right now, I think we will. Targett for MOTM.
  14. Bruce was the chef and the only man who knew how to cook when he got on board. Then he gave food poisoning to everyone because he insisted on giving them raw meat and boiled potatoes. Plus he left the stove on, the ship caught fire and was burning down.
  15. We probably had about 10 good games in the 100 Bruce managed. That's it. Absolutely useless "manager". Bruce was a stable boy used to shovelling muck who somehow found himself on the back of thoroughbred. The poor horse managed to battle to some wins despite being steered through every hedge and jump on the course. Luckily he fell off into a ditch and we could get a real jockey in. Now we're up in the group 1s competing again.
  16. 25 years young today. What a player, what a man. Huge part of our invigoration. Gets better every game, finds a way, makes it work, God knows what his ceiling is. I'd like to see him with the armband on occasion soon. Deano, Grealish, Mings and John boy are this club's spine.
  17. Honestly good luck getting a ticket. We're selling out every home game for what feels like the first time in my life. Away games you've hardly ever had a chance. The cup game I'd avoid as he's not 100% to play. He'll start every league game so eye up a date that suits you and wait online. Think Newcastle go on sale Nov 8th and Leicester 22nd
  18. Youcef Atal would be a great pick-up from Nice. Top RW/RB who can do a job on the left hand side if needed as well. It'd probably have to be the Summer though.
  19. It's a lovely analogy. Gives Bruce far too much credit though. He left us the same way he came in: in a battle to finish top half of the Championship. Remember the fixtures Smith had to face when he first came in? Bruce had played the entire bottom half and we we had scraped three wins. Before the 10 in a row, the early wins Smith picked up were an astonishing turnaround.
  20. I want mean Wes out on Saturday. He won more in the first 10 mins v Norwich than he had in the last three matches, you could see something was different. Right at it from the off please Sir Wes.
  21. Heard this as well. Too old school for modern management so keeps himself busy scouting Scotland and Northern England.
