Never fancied Benteke's rollers either tbh. Can't remember him missing one though.
Barry had an air of confidence so I trusted him a lot more, even though he definitely missed a couple.
It's odd how bad he is.
£17m for Danjuma
£13m for Kelly
Fat contract for Defoe
£15m for Rico who has now made it into the team after 2 years
£6m Brad Smith which was the weirdest one. Hardly even played for Liverpool.
Agreed.
His ball carrying is absolutely out of this world. He'd start for Liverpool and be flirting with the first XI for City.
We'd just have to change the way we play a bit and move the ball quicker rather than expecting one man to beat two players and move us 30 yards up the pitch every time he gets it.
We'd really struggle for a few weeks I think. The sole negative side of having a player like this is that the team becomes used to having them and adjusts to it. That's half the reason that first City goal happened. Engels and Guilbert couldn't foresee Jesus winning such a direct flick on against Tyrone because he wins 99% of all his headers. Hopefully they've learnt now.
What are their various attitudes like? Can you see them all succeeding long term?
Really fancied Berge for us in the summer. Odegaard and Haaland beyond us now I think.
Also like look of Hakon Evjen. Reckon he could make it in England?
He hasn't had much of a go in a Smith first team has he? 10/20 minutes at the end of games that are mostly already dead.
Starts v Wolves in the cup and Liverpool for me. See how he looks in one "easier" game and one tough one. My money would be on him contributing more in the tough one than Wes, but he needs to look a threat in the easier one.
It's absolutely incredible.
I honestly wonder how some of the absolute best would have done compared to him, bearing in mind he had to take over from the anti-coach Bruce and lift the team out of the ground.
Two games off the boil (one of which city away) does not mean Hourihane can be compared to McGinn who has stood out alone so many times.
There's a huge gap between them and they have their roles in the squad.
Hourihane's is to play when we're on top and either score or assist. If he doesn't manage to get involved in a goal, there's very little else he does.
One, maybe two teams will go down feeling like they've been alright this season. We need a run of form and desperately need a striker and ideally a winger in January.
Pretty sure he means technically, not the profile.
Profile is spot on.
Wes looks like he can't control or kick the ball properly half the time. Hopefully there's some confidence issues right now and not just a lack of technique.
It's not a move I'd make yet. Davis deserves a go.
McGinn would have more goals than the magical 4 I keep hearing about if he'd played as many minutes up front as Wes this season though, definitely.
It hasn't reached Green levels of blind defence yet. Hopefully it never does because he improves.
For 90% of his time on the pitch this season Wes has looked really really poor. We're a very nice team to play for as a striker.
They've got no squad it's incredible. I just don't think they'll have enough for top 2. Would love them to get up.
Their only big buy in the last few years is Tom Bayliss who can't even make the bench.
Blimey, great positivity!
Nowhere near that me. Every point feels precious.
I'll be over the moon if we really hit form and start to pull away.
We absolutely need to buy at least one "starter" in Jan to not be in a huge scrap for me.
Would you be fairly comfortable not buying anyone in January and still be thinking we'd be fine?
