  1. I really don't want him going off to England if he isn't fit. He'll push himself to get on the pitch once here's there and we have probably our biggest match so far when he gets back. A must win at home v Newcastle
  2. They have real quality up front. A talented but slow midfield, with consistent wide players plus all or nothing Traore. We can get at the defence. If we play well, we'll take points. Nasty feeling actually. Feels like we've played OK recently a lot and not got the points we probably deserve. Feel like a bad performance could pop up soon.
  3. Don't like the sound of Smith hoping he'll train on Thursday. Thought he'd nearly made the Liverpool match?
  4. Please.... please stop responding to trolls.
  5. That video is excellent. Man with a plan. Telling the players they would beat Derby 95 times out of 100 is a ballsy move.
  6. If we stay up, I don't think we'll be in any danger next year. It'll be another summer of strong investment.
  7. Jack plays somewhere for me, haven't decided where yet. Smith is fairly loyal to players he feels have played well though.
  8. We're outputting so much effort for not many points right now. If the front three click at some point we could easily go in a run I think. Newcastle game so big.
  9. My word I disagree. Tammy is much further along in his development than Wes.
  10. I reckon it was if Chelsea didn't have a transfer ban. What could have been.
  11. Absolutely agree, we don't have the players for two up front. With this squad, I think we'll lose points we could win by insisting on this narrow 433 midfield in the tough games. 4231 is a worth looking at at least.
  12. It's definitely hoping rather than thinking he'll become a good striker based on anything he's doing.
  13. That's the one. Someone who plays like him would absolutely keep us up yes.
  14. Henderson is so funny btw. What a bad footballer. What's he doing in that Liverpool side? Sticks out like a sore thumb. Imagine how good they'd be if they had a proper talented player in there!
  15. No chance. We've seen what he does with a good team in that league. Men behind the ball, no tactics, hardly a formation. Play on break and hope individuals win you the match. They'd probably win some matches, but they wouldn't he running away with the league.
  16. They've been absolutely crap in every game except today. What's yer thinking?
  17. Nah, he put in a proper Hourihane of a performance there. He could have shot or passed to Wes. Passing to the defender was a bad choice I think. John McGinn isn't an exotic name, he's great.
  18. Pretty sure the pass was nowhere near Wes. Hourihane's fault. Can't predict Hourihane passing it to the defender?
  19. That's the standard now please Trez. Unconvinced about his intelligence around the park. Does some very strange things. Given Smith a dilemma presuming Grealish is fit next week. I cannot pay him a higher compliment.
  20. Very standard Hourihane. Didn't score, so did nothing. Losing Mane a real shame, didn't fancy following him? Pretty annoying actually. Had his sniff around their box as well, I'd have backed him shooting there...especially when it's Wes waiting for it. Then the pass was poor anyway. Passing the buck though, I've seen that enough from him to know he'll do it wherever he can.
  21. Love Smith, love the intent. He's an ambitious so and so, and I'm not convinced we have the quality to play how he wants, especially in the PL. We have too many players who are just not good enough. I understanding him persisting, why would you not try and play the way you want? I pray it doesn't cost us though. I think some good teams will go down this year who feel like they've had an OK season. Could be us, Watford, Burnley, Brighton, West Ham anyone outside the top 7 basically. We're too narrow in midfield a lot of the time. When full backs come forward, for anyone, they have so much space and our midfield gets spread too thinly. Today we played the best pair of full backs in the world (I think Trent AA is actually the best in the whole world at the moment, ffs what a player) and being honest, with some decent shooting, Liverpool could have had 4 or 5. Their finishing was abysmal. Wolves and Sheffield Utd for example, if they play 352 against us, I'm very very concerned they'll open us up for fun. Newcastle as well are playing a 541 with full backs pushing forward. In many ways we're playing with house money here. Forget a year ago...in February we were absolutely out of it, no chance of promotion. Almost got a win v European champs! Not overly disappointed though because I don't think we deserved anything, got thumped for much of the match. Only frustration is the Hourihane pass to Trez could have been better, or he could have shot. And the other was I thought for some real fun McGinn could have shot from about 45 yards instead of play El Ghazi (?) in, Allison was charging out. Both tricky chances, well defended though.
  22. Agreed some adapting is needed. He will, he always does. The better the opposition, the harder it gets, the more it matters... the taller John McGinn grows. Huge part of our future. Makes me laugh what the hell Doug Luiz must think watching him charge around. They need to take a bit of each other's game on board and at worst we'll have two top 6 Premier League players.
  23. No chance we'd get Deeney. Club captain from a relegation rival. He's exactly what we need. If we can find a 22 year old Deeney with a 30 year old Deeney's attitude we'll be finishing 12th or higher with zero issues.
