  1. Another convincing performance. I'm sure he'll use this preposterous amount of luck to revamp their style and they'll look a different outfit next year. Their "tactic" definitely won't be...sit back and defend for your lives, see what happens going forward.
  2. We're not a good team. We don't need him to come in and be pretty and intricate. We need him to do what we can't right now, run round and smash stuff. Stop other bad teams from looking better than us because we're slow and can't close then down. Make room for Samatta and Grealish by causing some panic. He can definitely do that.
  3. I like when Kesler goes off on one of his overlaps. Looks the fastest kid in the world.
  4. Has to be the team going forward. My only query would be Engels and Mings the other way round. I'd feel more comfortable with Mings in the middle but we could have a look at this.
  5. A square sausage and a tennants and he'll be set for Spurs in two weeks.
  6. I'd highly recommend a trip to see them. They get loads more live out of middling album tracks from years gone by and the new stuff crowds don't know as well which is always a good sign. Their music was always a level above the million "indie" bands popping up around 10 years ago, now they've got some presence to go with it.
  7. Honestly I love it, too funny. Rock bottom Norwich thumped them again at the weekend, still got a point. If we pull off a miracle and stay up I'll look back with such joy at their season, total comedy. It's a farce how many points they've got. Of course you could Steve
  8. We keep having games like this we then lose comfortably
  9. An bargain for £3m. Shouldn't be in the team right now though, he's been shaky for a few weeks. If teams use him as well as Bournemouth did we'll really struggle to get anything going out from the back.
  10. Bombay Bicycle Club have grown into a very good live act. Plenty in the back catalogue to choose from as well.
  11. The first 45 mins painted a very unpleasant picture. We were swept aside and bullied.
  12. FFS. Right thing to do getting him on the pitch for U23s, got to get him up to some sort of base of fitness.
  13. I agree TRO, but all the other teams are going to be feeling this as well. They all have better players than us as well which is an issue. We'd probably have about 5 points without Jack this season.
  14. Why do you keep saying this? Do you think it was a good decision to let him go? We've got no centre halves at all in reserve as of right now. It'll be Taylor or Elmo in at CB should someone get injured or sent off. It was a bad decision to let him go with no recall.
  15. I think that's very likely if we go down. He's remarkably similar to Pukki in style.
  16. 100% yes. Bournemouth lost at home to Watford the other day getting caught pissing around with it like we were. Against us, they got it forward and competed heavily, playing all the football in our half in the first 45 mins. We went short again and again, and as usual looked light in midfield because they had 3 in there and we had 2, one of which in Nakamba is as much use on the ball as a chocolate teapot.
  17. Can't blame him for first one. Heaton might have got it but it's a free shot from 12 yards, incredibly difficult to stop. Second one should be going out wide yes, error.
  18. He's unfit and still the best striker we've had since May 2019 by a mile. Main weakness is pace probably. I think he's half a yard short of being a really top player but looks pretty good at everything else. Some good hold up, some good link play, movement around the box good, brave for the goal, just finishing we've yet to have a proper look at. Fluffed the one v Leicester but the areas he gets into will lead to more opportunities like that. Get him doing plenty of running next fortnight please Deano.
  19. It was clear we were second best first half. He was gifted the chance the change it with Konsa getting injured. He's got so little faith in so many of our players and I don't think I blame him to be honest. Not good enough.
  20. We knew it was going to be hard. He's been given players not good enough for which I have sympathy. I flit between thinking he should be doing better and thinking he's got absolutely no chance because of the lack of ability in the squad. With Jack Grealish...he's got something no team outside the top three has anything near IMO. He'd walk into every other side in the league and be key attacking threat for any of the top three as well. Smith must do more to get him in games. We've seen Jack will force himself into games if needs be, but we need to give him more freedom. Moving him central in front of a midfield two, behind a front two seems such an obvious move, especially now we have three strikers to pick from. I don't honestly believe he likes any system apart from the 433, but the midfielders we have are totally unequipped to play it. Either no legs, or no ability to use the ball. One thing I'm sure on is he will be our manager first game of next season.
  21. We won't be sacking him I don't think. It'd have to be a grim end to the season for them to now decide to twist having stuck through a right bad patch. He needs to be more flexible to improve I think. Things could unravel incredibly quickly if we suddenly look lost because Jack Grealish isn't there to look after everyone.
  22. I don't like Facebook posters appearing on Villatalk.
  23. Always been telling that most of the defence of him is just pointing to other bad buys. That doesn't make him better. His signing and performances have played a huge part in us probably going down. Going to be tiresome people saying the injury has ruined him when he comes back and looks just as bad as before. Perfectly acceptable among Villa fans to mock Hogan now, be interesting to see when Wes passes the threshold.
  24. Any word on where he is? From starting two in a row to out the squad? He'd have likely been bumrushed just like Doug, but at least we could have had Doug off the bench where he's been good.
