  1. Up against fast wingers he's made to look slow, but no he ain't quick.
  2. I know but with those, you could see that they had kicked a ball before. Wesley can't trap a ball, pass, head, tie his shoelaces or shit in a bucket.
  3. To his detriment, so does Dean Smith! We play the aggressive same shape v Liverpool and we do v Dog & Duck FC. We know when it clicks, it's great. The hope I suppose, is that it starts to click v better sides as well. If we stay up, I am confident of three or four starting players being signed next Summer. It'll be great. Whether we stay up or not feels 55/45 at the moment.
  4. Definitely bookies favourites for West Ham, Newcastle and Brighton. If we get thumped at Blades we'll still be favourites for Southampton as well. It won't be comfortable by the way! Just something I've noticed. Wins v those around you are better than wins v top sides in relegation terms. You get 3 and make sure they get 0.
  5. Never saw Horsfield put in any performances like Wes has. A dream to play against.
  6. We've beaten almost every team this season we've been favourite to beat before kick-off. If that carries on we'll be fine.
  7. Nasty feeling he'll be starting at Sheff U. Don't really mind that match but I don't want him in the team v Watford or Southampton. Took Smith ages and ages to drop him and Targett at the start of the season.
  8. He's soft for sure. A footballer not a grafter.
  9. Chelsea was the wrong game for him. Leicester was the wrong game for him. Sheff Utd I think is the wrong game for him. Watford and Southampton... I want him on the pitch.
  10. Was fearing for him if taken off.
  11. We haven't done a Fulham and still won't have if we go down. Can we close the thread?
  12. Not about goals for me. I want to see he can play football and contribute for the team. The team incidentally, that are all sick of him and try and keep him out of the game. It'll be a nightmare trying to explain why he still should be dropped if he scores a tap in like the Newcastle one he fluffed. Performance, performance, performance!
  13. Doug, McGinn, pick whoever you want except Taylor. They would all be better.
  14. Targett injury might have saved him getting subbed. Crowd reaction would not have been good. They've started to reflect to feelings of the other players who are sick of him.
  15. Absolutely he's got worse and worse since then. He's clearly still our best CB. And when he eliminates those easy errors like not getting tackled trying to cruyff round a striker he'll be even better.
  16. If Smith is determined to stick with him, he still should be taken out v Sheff Utd where we're likely to get a good kicking. Watford & Southampton define how the rest of the season is going to go and what sort of targets we'll be able to attract in January.
  17. If we had Glenn Murray we'd probably have 4 or 5 more points. We're trying to win games with a striker who can't play football.
  18. Good chance I'd say yes. Without a new striker, I'm afraid not.
  19. See it? Peach. Smith has largely been handed this squad to work with. But he mentioned a few times he didn't think Maupay was worth the asking price. Wonder if someone convinced him Wes was the better option or he decided himself. We'd already be looking to next season if we had Maupay now.
  20. Deary me, absolutely no chance. God knows his level, but Championship is well beyond it.
  21. What a misjudgement. We've got Wes who can't kick a football instead.
  22. Worst performance for Villa. Shame. Should have won the ball for Leicester first, even with many other issues contributing.
  23. Best keeper to ever play for Aston Villa.
  24. So before the injury... He got tackled cruyff turning outside the edge of his own area at Chelsea. Today he lost it thinking he's better than he is, again outside his own area. Wonder if he'll ever get told to stop. Really interested in what happened around the sub. Did he lie and say he was OK? Physios know you can't run off a hammy but if the player says it feels alright what do you do? Hope he's not out for long, increases the chance of Taylor appearing on the bench.
  25. Eduoard has been on for 10 mins Celtic. He's held the ball up more than Wes has all season. We could have tested them with £22m bid in the summer.
