I don't get it. Unless City buy Luiz (which is 50/50, he'd be a great squaddie for them) I can't see anyone leaving but Grealish. Do we need money? Is the £60m minimum we'll get for Grealish not enough? Our players are all on very moderate PL wages. If someone offers us £50m for Mings and £50m for McGinn, with a capable recruitment team we can pad out the squad nicely with quality.

Correct, the animosity is unneeded. I'm only interested in an outstanding candidate. Not pacifying people who think we should be mid-table with this garbage squad in our first season back in the PL. They'll round on the new guy at the first sign of trouble, same as they did with Smith.

Correct, it would be silly to sack him after 10. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Happy to replace with a great name...who will come? If we can get a Bielsa, obviously yes, goodbye and thanks for the good times Dean. Even my possible favourite of Barnsley's Struber would be a risk I'm not sure I'd take. It's all about Suso and getting him out. Doesn't matter who is in charge if they're given crap expensive players every year.

Idea growing on me he stays to be honest. I wanted to see some sort of performances at the end of the season and we've got them. The team isn't good enough and we're probably going to finish 19th. We're competing with established PL sides who have PL squads plenty of whom would be our top earners. I want Smith replaced if we stay up, but unless there's an outstanding candidate there's no point replacing him. Only realistic name I'm up for at the moment is Gerhard Struber if we go down. No interest at all in Hughton/Lee Johnson?! They are the names we'll be dealing with.

It's funny but sad when you read it all written down. This is what happens when you give a guy out of his depth like Bruce the ability to sign players willy nilly.

I love him, totally unique style. Really wanted us to sign him last summer. Wouldn't have given us a huge amount more solidity I don't think though. Went to Marseille and they finished second. So Champions League instead of Championship for him.
