  1. Maybe not directly no. But referees favour big teams and now if you don't have a ref giving a 50/50 decision against you, there's some other word removed trying to find a way to 200 miles away. You think we'd have got that Engels pen at Anfield? Absolutely no chance. Evidenced by McGinn on day 1. You think any of our players wouldn't have been sent off if they'd did what Maguire did? Off you pop, no doubt. The Wes "foul" on the the keeper against Brighton. They just dived in and decided to disallow it, when did they become part of it? Going back and looking for fouls to disallow goals? Refs who have decisions overruled should have marks put against them and be relegated to the Championship for a few weeks, then they might get into shape so they can keep up with play. The refs are mostly all poor and just want a quiet life. They know in the back of their mind a result with Tottenham beating Villa isn't going to make news. A decision given to Spurs will be easier for them to give than one to Villa.
  2. I think Stern John's 2-2 was the original basis if I'm honest. But anyway, yes... plenty of fans at all other clubs he's been at don't seen to like him. Maybe he said that to all of them? It's nice he's still got fans around though.
  3. No, he shut them all up with disgusting football and by telling them they didn't know what was best. They like him now.
  4. They're the worst team in the league and it's incredible they've fluked the number of points they have. There's no way he will, who's going to employ someone who gets the team to not participate in matches? The dinosaur's dinosaur. A great appointment for Ashley undoubtedly. Lightning rod of hate and might keep you up because you won't take too many tankings. When his luck turns, probably next season, he'll be out the door. I detest him yes, massive prick. Newcastle fans were having a right whine after the arsenal game, I don't think they like him very much at all. Why wouldn't they be pleased with their season? Beyond their wildest dreams that they'd be out of the relegation zone at this point. He's a boyhood fan like Smith, he should have the gallowgate singing his name every week.
  5. Grealish is much better than him. Utd are run that badly signing two excellent players for the same role in the XI wouldn't be out of the question. Plus Jacko can obviously move round a bit. It'd be a blow to see him go Utd when they're so bad. He will transform them though.
  6. This. It's getting attention now. When you play like this, there's absolutely no leeway as soon as you have a bad result. He won't be getting another Premier League job after this. The dinosaur's dinosaur.
  7. Out for the season as well! Didn't think it would be that long.
  8. Excellent. That's right up there with Wes' best 60 mins of the season coming in the same game he gets put out for a year.
  9. He goes to the Euros for me yep. And he's pretty close to getting in the team. Trent would start but has to show he can get as involved for England as he does for Liverpool to balance out his weakness compared to James defensively. If teams aren't as dominant as Liverpool, Trent's effect is lessened.
  10. How Drinkwater is playing right now is exactly how I imagine Lansbury to play if he ever got on.
  11. Wolves' average 343 formation. Note the more balanced midfield and the deeper defensive line! 3-2 win v Southampton (think Neto/Adama were switching wings leading to this mess) 1-2 loss v Liverpool 0-0 draw v Man Utd 0-0 draw v Leicester
  12. Same as the problem with 433 was the two 8s pushing too high and leaving the holding midfielder to defend alone, the 343 is not giving us enough of a foothold in the middle. The midfield area and team shape is the major issue with us conceding, not "the defence". Average formations we've taken up recently... v Brighton v Watford v Bournemouth v Tottenham This is obviously only a general guide, things happen in a match where you can get pulled out of position all the time, but the consistency with which our two midfielders are occupying the same space cannot be good for us. It's clear watching how tough we find it to have relaxed possession in the middle. It all goes down the wings. We either need the forwards to drop in and press the ball more, along with the central two showing confidence on the ball and spreading out; or my preference is switch to 352 bringing Grealish into the middle where he can get more of the ball. I'd put El Ghazi up front and tell him to play right alongside Samatta. I think Ghazi being uncomfortable up there is still better than us leaving Grealish on the wing where he can be quiet, and it'll strengthen our midfield. McGinn returning will clearly help everything as well. If we're going to have this stupidly high line we need the midfield and forwards to harry the ball so players don't have time to pick out a run and float a pass into the 40 yards of space we're giving teams. A 23 year year old Gabby would absolutely ruin us, he'd get on the end of every through ball. The amount of space we're giving teams to hit is not sensible. The 343 could improve and we'll make it work, but I feel like we need to stop this constant supply line giving whoever we play 4 or 5 incredible chances every game. Something that can immediately help is the two side CBs move forward whenever they are spare and go to mark players before the ball reaches them. How many times watching us do we end up with someone dribbling directly at our back 3/5 with runners everywhere? Teams should have to work their nuts off to get a chance to do that and they don't, the ball breaks unfortunately or we lose a 50/50 further forward and teams are in immediately storming towards us. Just as a comparison, here's some recent Wolves games, their midfield. They also play a 343... can't attach will do next post.
  13. They are honestly so shit. Watching them pass it out from the back is horrific. We're better and that's saying something. Their players mostly all have ability but there's no plan. They've clearly been told "pass out from the back", but haven't worked on any sort of patterns or runs to make. It's totally up to individuals making decisions. Grealish will completely transform them if he ends up there. He'll give the whole side ten times the confidence with his willingness to get on the ball.
  14. Absolute **** horseshit. Knew this would happen with VAR. Just another way to favour the bigger sides. Any of our players do that they get sent off and we quite rightly slate them. Joke.
  15. I think he would as well. Depends what sort of bids we get in, we won't be selling him for less than £15. Engels, Konsa and Hause are all "good" Championship CBs for me. We should have no issues with them. You can definitely batter your way out of the championship with goalscoring.
  16. Really made me laugh this typo. We must not lose, and we probably need to win.
  17. I would heartily disagree with that.
  18. I didn't ever rate him highly myself to be honest. But sending him off when we're almost in a position of having to change formation or play...Neil Taylor...I'd rather he stayed.
  19. I like Bjorn. Think he was good yesterday but yes the one at the end is just death. Don't know what he was doing. Spurs had given up and were not even pushing. Gutting. I'd start him next game, if Mings is fit I'd obviously bring him back but I'd drop Hause. Funnily enough the guy Reims brought into the side to replace him, Axel Disasi, is some player. We should try get him in the summer.
  20. He did and it's incredibly frustrating, very unlike Doug. Probably the only time this season I've seen him shite himself. He's been tackled in his own half and remained calmer than he was there. If we can stay up he'll be a huge player for us going forward.
  21. Meant to say when that first was posted on here. What it does show IMO is the worst three sides in the league can't help but be making last ditch challenges/blocks whatever. It's well known how many blocks/tackles/deflections we invite because teams have a million shots against us every game. Our big problem for me is that we come flying out and try and win the ball off teams when we just aren't good enough to. Against better sides, in general play our whole team should be 25 yards deeper than they are, the gap in behind yesterday was so easy to play in to. We're giving teams 40 yards of space to play into and it's a silly approach when we can't close the game down in midfield due to personnel and formation.
  22. I've got a funny feeling he will as well. If it's only Utd from the UK after him, I honestly think he might sign a new massive deal. 3 years on his current one? 4 years and making £150k a week isn't that much different in terms of what we'd be asking for him anyway. Depends on the euros some of it. No doubt in my mind he'll be one of the stars of the tournament if he plays every game, England can definitely win it. If that happens, Barca and Real will definitely be in having a look, that'll be harder to turn down.
  23. Also, just like everyone else in the league apart from Liverpool, they sit deeper than us. We are so high all the time. It's OK if you can run and press the ball to stop them picking passes through, but we can't.
