  1. Loved what you said about people just calling him "Jack". Because everyone knows who that is.
  2. I often think about this as I'm watching his reputation grow. I think he left spurs this summer and went to a super elite. City, Liverpool, Real Madrid stuff. 5 year deal in 2018, made it clear to Levy he wasn't signing a new one. They got £115m for him. He's an England staple, not even a debate.
  3. If we have a good season I think he'd still want to play. Won't want to go to city and be on the bench. He'd be well worth paying them another £20-30m to stop them buying him back IMO. The guy's nonchalant ability is silly. You just trust him on the ball. Plays his way out of everything and has figured out how to compete while not being the biggest.
  4. Amine Gouiri who we probably could have pinched for £8m at the start of the window has started the season on fire for Nice. Very lively left winger/striker. Turns 21 in February, someone who we should definitely have a look at next summer. Any longer and I think he'll be beyond us unless we do a real madness this season. Nice are having a good run at Champions League in France this season.
  5. He could get a league two club if he really wanted to. Hope his agent isn't being silly here and telling him to wait for a "big club". He needs games or he is in danger of falling out of football. The last two years he was here he was abysmal. If he wasn't injured, every second he was on the pitch he was terrified. Real shame he couldn't use confidence from that Sheff Utd goal. Came on in the playoff final, and quite a few other key games towards the end of the season. Did nothing in any.
  6. I imagine it could be Jacob Ramsey or Lionel Messi and ROK would treat them exactly the same in training. Shouting at them to use their weak foot on drills and to pick up the cones on the far side at the end.
  7. Good words from Dougie. So often you see these annoying "lost in translation" stories around this time saying I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE VILLA or something like that. Nothing of the like.
  8. He wasn't even good for him tonight. That formation was a rotter, Grealish hid another bad England performance.
  9. This is very correct and you could see it after 5 mins. Embarrassing professional management. **** embarrassing. Stubborn this. This formation is a mess. It was against Denmark or whoever it was.
  10. We would **** murder England with Southgate as manager. For one, only we would have Grealish playing. We'd thump them about 5-0.
  11. Nah, he's injured. Been walking round the whole game. Quite what the **** is going on I don't know. Southgate now planning to play him for 270 mins no doubt.
  12. He probably wants to play. But he should be sitting out a friendly ffs.
  13. Pretty horrible watching him play a friendly with a massive bandage round his hamstring. Southgate going for the old 703 formation to make sure we're nice and easy to play against.
  14. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the right at some point. You know that place he hardly ever plays.
  15. He would have got the van Dijk elevation had he left this summer. "He's really come on now" bullshit.
  16. We're now getting to the point the team, certainly the 1st XI, is good, so in certain circumstances, yes. If it was for a one off match, De Bruyne is probably of more use to us, as is Cristiano Ronaldo. But for the last few years I wouldn't have. How would De Bruyne have done playing with Neil Taylor and Wesley last season? He'd have had no interest putting in the effort Jack did. He's been a monstrous part of us becoming and remaining a PL club. He's already in the top 10 Villa players ever. Few more years and he's clear at #1.

    Ezri Konsa

Hopefully we don't have to see it any time soon but it'll be a good test when Mings isn't starting next to him. He's still the boss back there, sorts everyone else out, talks constantly. Ezri lacks nothing to be a top top Premier League players. The Fulham performance impressed me so much. Their whole plan was get Mitrovic up against him for challenges and he was sent packing.
  18. It is yes. They're also lucky it's a weak league this season making things more comfortable for them in their first season back. They've got Fulham and Albion that are definitely going down. There's only one place to play for! West Ham in disarray, Bruce at Newcastle, Burnley looking as bad as they have in five years. The pressure is non-existant.
  19. Oh, you're back? What a shame. It was a good three days at least.
  20. I love the Championship when we're not in it. Swansea, Blackburn, Luton and Cov look like exceeding expectations to me. Norwich struggling much more than I thought they would.
  21. No matter when he leaves, I'll remember the first two years of Dean Smith at Aston Villa forever. Let's hope the momentum carries on and that becomes the first five years...
