  1. The key man v Leeds. They put forward so many players he'll need eyes in the back of his head but it's important he's supported by others defending. We know he has remarkable composure, his technique and distribution will be put right under the microscope with the amount he'll be getting pressed in dangerous areas. Doug has a really good game and we'll see 'em off by two goals.
  2. He could very well be joining Gabby, Hutton and Richards in retiring once their Aston Villa contract ends. We've given them all hundreds of thousands more than they'd have made anywhere else. Why carry on when you can do no training and finally spend some of the money you've been gifted for not doing much.
  3. There was some truly hilarious stuff about. Suggestions Hourihane was a more useful player being the funniest. We went off a cliff when he hobbled off v Southampton.
  4. Such is Jack's level at the moment, people expecting him to make zero errors in games. It's just not going to happen. That 3v2... best "option" was a wonder ball left to Watkins. He could have made it yes, would have been brilliant though, blind curled around the back of the defender. People are simply expecting amazing things every time he gets it, then saying he's made the wrong choice or "hangs onto it" if he doesn't pull it off. The pass to the right, Barkley didn't do anything movement wise, made no space, no run to lead defender away, Jack carrying on through the centre was probably more dangerous than giving it to Barkely out wide. If the defender eventually did shift to cover Barkley, it open up for Jack to shoot. Maybe if Barkley got given it, he could have done something, maybe not. As it was with that chance btw, yes it came to nothing, but Jack still got the ball rolling across the 6 yard line in the opponent's area. As we've seen, most weeks Ollie has probably made a run back in and is waiting to tap that in. Grealish is so good, people are picking up anything he does that isn't amazing as "holes in his game". I hope he listens to none of them, especially Gareth Southgate.
  5. So predictable to watch play out isn't it. Gotta develop new and innovative inflammatory techniques. Just enjoy the frustration that must be being felt at Aston Villa's and Smith's success.
  6. They'll get in a right pickle if they think they can leave Grealish alone while Ayling runs round pitch.
  7. BTTS is the bet for this one. Standing off until they get in our half would be the play. They struggle to break down deep defences which is why they've lost so many games they've dominated in the last two years.
  8. Everyone on the bench just has to watch how hard he works, it's ridiculous. Put that sort of effort in and you'll be of some use.
  9. Anyone missing from the starting Leicester XI, we'll struggle. Got to compete with their effort levels before anything else. None of the subs, including Traore, are ready to start. Think we'll be OK if the same team are ready for at least 75 mins each. Watkins' hold-up and winning something from nothing long balls will be crucial. If we're brave on the ball, we'll crack these open numerous times and score at least three.
  10. No you don't. The performances matter more than figures. He'd have had 10 more assists last season if we had a striker. Would his performances have been "better" if El Ghazi didn't sky every tap in he had? No. They were brilliant either way.
  11. Correct. You can add in other villa fans telling you to be happy with the shite football as well. Never been less interested in us than with Steve Bruce's guff in the championship. If we win nothing this season (very likely) I want to have enjoyed watching us at least. You'll take the odd sneaky 1 or 2 goal win you don't deserve every so often, they can be a nice bonus. But when they're your only hope of points because the manager has zero ambition to try and play, they get boring fast.

I do wonder if they might be up for something silly if we're still in the nosebleeds by January. We have minimal quality depth, one or two good players that could provide options would be very helpful to the manager. He can make one sub that doesn't hurt the side at the moment. Might need to make sure we stay under UEFA ffp though
  13. This is what opposition managers have to make a call on. Leave him alone at your peril.

Seriously readjusting his levels at the moment. Mings has helped him along a lot IMO. The best CB in the league on form. England would be idiots to ignore him...Oh...
  15. Imagine how annoying he is to play against. Well done Trez.
  16. You know his game. Great how gutted he'll be at the moment.
  17. He bloody loves 4-3-3 does Deano.
  18. Keep it coming Deano. We're in the position now where any sub bar Trez/Traore monstrously weakens us. Any other sub in the whole squad before 80 mins and we'd have lost that tonight. Excellent game management to roll to Traore dice when he did. Thought he tweaked it at HT from the 4-2-3-1 back to his favoured 4-3-3 and we were more dominant in that shape.
  19. He's pretty much unplayable at the moment. Leicester consciously flocked to him today, booted him as far away from goal as possible, and they still couldn't stop him creating loads of openings. He's going to get Barkley into the England team and probably miss out himself due to a man with a fundamental misunderstanding of football.
  20. Yeah can see this being likely. Got to keep perspective any which way. These lot should have finished 3rd last season. Something Smith is always very strong on actually. Never gets too high or low regardless. A good man to have at the helm.
  21. If Wes Morgan plays Ollie will have some fun.
  22. Wow, Spurs got Rodon for £11m, wtf
