  1. I like that a lot. The look of the sponsor is vital to it. Works with Vodafone and their simple bold logo, but would look crap with others I think.
  2. I still can't take business studies seriously since a lot of my mates got full marks in some aspects of it at A Level.
  3. The Grauniad Sorta sums up what I've felt about the leaders. It's worrying I almost like Gordon Brown.
  4. Mark Williams MP really is desperate for the student vote. He's now sent a (once) handwritten letter (the copied and printed) with hand addressed envelopes. Lots of rhetoric and I'm fantastic, anyone would think this is a close seat.
  5. What difference would the knives or guns make? I've stared down a few gunmen in my time (had a couple of sawed-off shotguns in your face when the packie ("package store" aka "liquor store" aka "off licence") one works at is robbed at various points) and it's not really any different than dealing with another bully. I've had a shotgun pointed at me in jest by a girlfriends father and that shit me up. My dad also had a gun pointed at him years ago while working for the council out of hours in a dodgy part of the city, and didn't much like it either. I think in this country we're (rightly) not terribly used to guns and it's a sobering and frightening experience to be confronted with one. Same goes somewhat for knives - I don't particularly want to get stabbed.
  6. Right now I'd probably say no. Partially because I'm just not a child person. I can deal with them if they're smart and attentive and well behaved. But that only really becomes de riguer when they're older. Partially because I just don't think I have particularly nurturing instincts. Partially because I like my independence. I would love to share that with a 'soul mate', but right now I can't see myself wanting to impact on that with a child. And partially because I have the suspicion that bringing a child into the world as things stand isn't a particularly good idea. We do need to have less children as a species, generally. And some of the horrors that they could face I don't really want to inflict on anyone without having the necessity to. The world isn't a nice place. Then again I'm only 21, theres a lot of time for things to change and, well, mistakes to be made, or for people to change my mind or for me to see the appeal more over. Who knows what a good woman might do to me. And who knows, one day I might decide that it's better for humanity if theres some counter balance to the low end of society (struggled for a way to say that isn't quite so nasty... still can't really. You know what I mean, 5 kids, 5 different fathers, not the sharpest, never achieved anyting and never will type) pumping out kids. Had this discussion with a mate of mine the other night and his conclusion is effectively the last paragraph. Reckons the educated elite need to have children for the betterment of society.
  7. Touchscreens just really don't go with me. They're fine for certain jobs, simple non repetitive gesture stuff, tapping, swiping through things, etc. But when you start doing stuff like texting, with the constant taps on the screen, it becomes awkward and uncomfortable imo. It's also, I imagine, an absolute nightmare for your joints because there is no cushion to the movement. I have an N97, which has a touchscreen and a little keyboard. The keyboard is, honestly, brilliant, makes texting a breeze. I'd never go back to a standard 9 key text system. The touchscreen is far from amazing, but it does the simple job it needs to do well. It's good for simply quickly picking options from menus, browsing through things, etc etc. The time it is used for any major info input is when dialing new numbers. I like the compromise. I've used touchscreens for texting before now, with things like the iPhone, and didn't get on with it, and don't think I ever will. Which seems like it might be a hinderance if ever I want a HTC phone as they're big on the whole touchscreen only thing (I think a couple of models have had proper keyboards but I imagine they're become increasingly far from the norm).
  8. :winkold: Yes. I really am not thinking straight recently at all. :?
  9. Wally is top left, by the top left corner of the counter, just below the woman being revealed naked in the changing room.
  10. I despise kids. I'm not good with them and don't like things that don't behave. When I was little I was raised to basically know that if my dad raised his voice, that was enough. I was well behaved and I tried hard in school and never had any trouble. Always was mature for my age apparently. Even when I was in school I used to get annoyed at people playing up. Sadly I can't however say I've not been in any fights, been in a few, mostly because someone has pushed and pushed me to the point my temper has snapped. Hasn't happened for a while though and these days I just walk away from anything liely to push me to that point.

    Do you read?

In the past couple of weeks I've -reread Terry Pratchett's Carpe Jugulum, which is a good satire of vampires and has some ideas on the notion of religion too. -finally read No Country for Old Men, which after the film I enjoyed a lot and flew through, although I found McCarthy's style (lack of quotation marks for speech especially) a bit jarring at first, and I'm still not sure I like it. but otherwise a very good read. -and start Iain Banks' Whit, 4 chapters in and liking where it seems to be going currently, even I think the overall plot arch looks a little predictable I think it'll be a good read regardless.
  12. Only just got up, had a migraine come on last night, first one for quite a while, finally got it down to a mild headache now after some hardcore painkillers I got prescribed earlier in the year got too tempting. Hopefully it won't affect my ability to play poker.
  13. My brother and a few of my friends have picked up Blackberrys recently. Don't get the fascination but by and large they love em. I'd actually forgotten the other thing I have against HTC phones is the reliance on touchscreens - really really don't get on with them, especially for texting. Just doesn't compare to a proper button, even with haptic feedback and the like.
  14. So in laymans terms I'm guessing the hilarious amount of debt I've got is about to become much worse...?
  15. My German team is Wolfsburg. I'm not clinging onto their every result but I favour them in the matches of theirs I really look at. Looked out for them in that way for a few seasons now, even when they were pretty poor. Mostly comes from the family's like of VWs to be honest. I had a history teacher in school who used to be something to do with the RAF/Army IIRC and had spent some time in Germany, reckoned either Dortmund or Gladbach (can't remember which) had a lot of British servicemen support them because they were the nearest big club to a barracks, which might make it a bit easier to get into the community of whichever club it was.
  16. I'll have a mooch later. Probably be on Youtube by now.
  17. Was going to stay up to watch the fight last night but was far too knackered. Worth looking up highlights I take it? On the Pac thing... what are his objections exactly to having drug testing? I really can't understand why you'd not have it done if there was nothing to hide. Unless of course it's just a convenient excuses to duck the fight or something.
  18. I'm quite encouraged to see no support for the SNP. Had 2 letters this week from the Lib Dems. One from the party itself saying how important Wales is to them and how in many parts of Wales Labour and the Tories can't win, and how we should feel let down by Labours dominance in London and Cardiff (where Plaid props them up). And the other from the local candidate who is seemingly bloody popular, for reasons beyond my knowledge, gunning for the student vote in Aber, which apparently is one of the closest seats in the country, only 219 in it apparently according to the letter between Liberals and Plaid, the only parties that can win here (the Labour candidate is actually a student, I've worked with him, dunno why he's bothering). Interestingly the candidate letter notes that the Tories are planning to raise interest rates on student loans. I'm utterly naive when it comes to finance, so a silly question - assuming, God forbid, Cameron gets a majority and he puts through an interest rise on student loans, does that affect the loans I already have taken out, or do they stay under the rates I had taken them under under Labour? Apologies for how stupid that sounds .
  19. If it's similar to the Netherlands home shirt, the collar is going to be a mix of last years and a round collar. Dunno if thats any better for you.
  20. The alleged chequering is under the sleeve on the side of the body if the suggestion posted here is correct IIRC. I think the look of the sponsor is going to make a big difference to how this shirt looks, as I suspect chequering aside (it's that true) it's going to be very similar to the last 32Red one. Which was a really nice shirt to be fair, again with a crap sponsor.
  21. Don't know many Villans from Bristol to be honest. Always willing to be proved wrong mind.
  22. Cuellar absolutely monstrous. Proud of the season, and we didn't play that badly today imo. Could have easily won it. Still... we didn't. We're not finished yet as a side and the summer will take us another step closer to it.
