  1. Penis pic? Haha... I don't believe we've met.. . Unexpected response , I don't think it'd go down well with anyone really. Envy, ludeness, etc etc. . As Brumerican says though I did worry it was a bit downbeat when I picked this one. Really like it though, not sure how the perception would be.
  2. I need a new avatar. In my time on VT I've been a destructive gopher, myself, and this tree to my knowledge (actually an EP cover for a good band for Jesu). This one was only meant as a short term thing while I got a better one and it's not happened. It probably does affect perceptions. But for some reason with some people I can't expect other perceptions. For example, I think partly influenced by the sumo, I can't help imagining BOF is Dara O'Briain.
  3. University is pretty damn good, your mates had the right idea. Shame I'm done with it now but onwards and upwards.
  4. Bloc Party - Blue Light Engineers 'Anti-Gravity'Mix. 2 of my favourites combine to mix a nice chilled version of Blue Light, making a lot more of the vocals than the original. Nice. I'd never bothered with the Bloc Party remixes till the other day, they're generally rather good (couple of duds found so far).
  5. If you live in civilisation I think you'll be able to get a copy. If you live somewhere like, say, Aberystwyth, then you'll find Game sold out in 20 minutes and won't get a restock till past the next ice age. In Brum though, somewhere'll have it.
  6. Sorry, I really rate the hell out of him though. If that worries you, don't watch He really is a good striker. The big question mark is how he'll take to a better level of defender here, but I'm fairly sure he'll be fine, sadly. He could be quicker and while he has ability, he's not the sort to skill up a defence, he'll beat them with a good touch and strength more often than a bit of genuine trickery. If they do sign him, it'll be done sharpish as well, he has a clause on his contract that allows him to leave for 40m Euros that ends on Monday apparently. ...Go to Milan you bastard!
  7. He's a spectacular player BOF. Big, strong, reasonable pace, but it's the skill that really marks him out. His control is brilliant, his touch often sublime. He can poach goals effectively and also bang them in, his shot is powerful, sweet as a nut and controlled. He's basically everything someone like Ibrahimovic should be. It pains me that it looks likely he's off to Citeh, because, as a bit of a Wolfsburg fan as well as being a fan of his type of striker, I really like the guy. And now I'll not be able to. If he does go to Citeh, I think it's almost undoubted he'll be a success.
  8. Dzeko's agent apparently reckons Citeh are close to signing him.
  9. Productive day today, I just managed to get to level 16 on tetris for the first time, 157 lines. I'm sure that 10 minutes could have been better spent but hey ho.
  10. Bloc Party - Pioneers (M83 Remix) 'kin quality.
  11. Falcao's Portuguese record is very good, however, that ship sailed the moment he went there. Besides which, he's a a player used to 'softer' leagues. Some South American strikers, like Tevez, take to this league. I don't think Falcao is one of them, especially given him already having done in his ACL once in his career. And even if you disregard that and think he's going to take to this league well, it's Porto he's playing for now. Thats £20m all ends up at least and we ain't paying that.
  12. And why d you want us to sign Radamel Falcao Garcia? Can you fill us in on how good he is, any previous he has, what experience he has, what his attributes are?
  13. Just took down a 4 handed friendly game of poker, fiver in, 1 rebuy for the entire group in the first hour, went from being pretty down in last to first in one hand. I raise with QQ, mate reraises to an enomous degree, I push in over the top, he calls as a fairly big chip leader, turns over KK. Manage to river trips to take the chip lead and from there take it down, nice quick £17.50 and an evenings entertainment, job done. My mate ain't best pleased though .
  14. Holston. Not keen. And the Spurs connection makes it worse.
  15. Shall be purchasing in the coming days. Worth going for the Limited Edition? EDIT - Seems me and Risso had the same brainwave at the same time From reading reviews and the experiences here, and the glimpses of it online, I thinkt he thing that compels me the most is the stark beauty of the game. The vistas remind me of the long shots from the opening of No Country for Old Men, or pretty much every long shot from There Will be Blood... it has that stark but enormous beauty, harsh and wild. I can really see myself spending a few days, like Dante above, just wandering the map and seeing what it has out there.
  16. And with that I am done. 100 minute on whether nationalism is an ideology (yes but a thin one) and whether Britain is a primordial or modern nation (thoroughly modern, if it exists at all), and things are sweet. Uni, over but for the drinking. Woohoo. Even got to see my diss advisor to ask about my diss, which he didn't have a clue on, and whether he would be a reference, which he would. Great, fantastic, wunderbar, woo. **** elated.
  17. I'm not wrong CED, you are, you're generalising to an insane degree, you ARE painting an awful lot of normal Muslim men and women as something little better than extremists, the normative notion of extremists. I've met women who wear the veil of their own accord. Lots of people will have. In a previous debate on this The Rev mentioned similar to what I have - most do it because of an interpretation of their faith, and that is that. I don't think I can make it much clearer. There are Muslim men who honour kill and force their wives to wear the veil, of course, that I've acknowledged. But is it that big of a problem, by which I mean is a widespread and common issue? Almost certainly not. Is the story of the majority of veil wearers a spouse forcing it on them? No. To think otherwise is fundamentally wrong, imo. And the rhetoric that it is helps no-one.
  18. Are all practioners who support the veil dangerously fanatical, or is that just ignorant rhetoric? Are some? Undoubtedly. All? No. Some are simply quite conservative. Some may be generally fairly liberal Muslims who, in a nation/society that they feel is threatening or makes them uneasy in their faith, decide that they will follow their rules more to the letter. And so on. Education works, it may take time but you would eventually be able to help those that are forced to wear the veil. Not necessarily. Does it take a constitutional change in a woman who has a violent partner to seek help? It's a similar scenario. Many eventually seek help of their own accord. I don't think many women, even in very very conservative Muslim homes, with the veil forced on them, are so insular that they cannot ever come into contact with some form of state intervention - and that means you can educate them. I assume they sometimes have to take a bus somewhere, they're covered in posters for one thing or another. And so on. It's not impossible. These women do go out and about - hence why we're aware of the veil, if they didn't they wouldn't need it. Men who do force the veil on them are most likely doing it from a dominance point of view wrapped up in religious rhetoric, or are very conservative in their faith. I don't think there are many of them, to be frank. They do. You've surely seen Muslim women wearing headscarves and dressing conservatively? The veil is just a step on. Just as many Muslim women dress in the same way any Western woman would, interpreting their faith in such a way as to allow them (if they care at all), some interpret it in a way that dictates they must go beyond a headscarf and dress in the veil. These women do exist, in fact I would say that they are almost certainly in the majority. The idea that the majority is the wife to a man forcing her to dress in such a way is, well, wrong as far as I'm aware.
  19. What if they are British? They have no society to go back to, this is their society. It's a society that accepts a persons freedoms (well, broadly, asides from the terrorism stuff and what not but thats not the point I'm making). Not all women who wear the niqab wear it because they are forced to. Many will wear it because their interpretation of their faith instructs that they should, that is their choice. Banning it isn't the right way to go about combatting any issue with it. Thats not to say I like it - I don't, far from it. But I understand and accept the reasoning behind it, on the whole I don't think it's that big of a political issue really and for the women who don't want to wear it but are forced, the right thing for society to do is try to help these women on a matter that is much much more than a piece of clothing.
  20. Welcome advice for any youtube video, it has the worst community on the web.
  21. As of 11.30 (latest) tomorrow, I'm done with university education. Quite looking forward to it. Just this exam to get out the way and then a week and a bit of fun, hopefully. Just went over every lecture in the module and I don't think I learnt anything. Great module. But roll on tomorrow afternoon for freedom fun and good old good times.
  22. That design doesn't lend itself terribly to sponsorship. The diagonal itself messes things up, and the colours just mean it's difficult to get a logo on it in a block colour. It'd be a top class training top as said though.
