  1. Got jumped by my first (and so far only) cougar at Cholla Springs, killed my horse, but went down fairly easily. I was annoyed that wolves seem to be more valuable when skinned than the cougar, given that the cougar seems to be able to kill you twice as fast. Incidentally, any had their horse hit by the train yet? I managed it completely by accident, miles from anywhere, was off the horse looting bodies from a shootout, the horse is stood stock still with it's head just over the track, along comes the train. Horse turns into red mist.
  2. Why does 'operating in a small market pool' immediately mean we aren't looking abroad? Couldn't it mean we're looking at a calibre of players that is small because of the position we are in now, caught between the top level and those that really aren't good enough anymore? That goes across borders. Besides which, the man himself has said he is now more prepared to look abroad as his spine is as he wants it, from the British Isles.
  3. Well, had a day or so's play, and it really is good isn't it? It's slightly odd really, I've played it very relaxed, I'm taking my time getting around, messing about in the wilderness, shooting pretty much anything that isn't human, enjoying the scenery. I don't think I've ever played a game where I've felt a lot of the enjoyment comes from just pottering around. Looking forward to getitng further. Not done all of Bonnies missions yet, gotten the lasso however, based on Rev's say so above I'll return and finish them off before I get much further. Not that I've done many missions at all, couple for the Marshall and thats it.
  4. Anything with the word studies in the course title is usually Mickey Mouse Political studies included It tends not to count at degree level in my experience - or at least the rule becomes less hard and a fast. Political studies is what I did and it was, at times, pretty hard work, and was also exactly the same as any other politics degree the uni offered.
  5. Neither did I and nor were some of the guys getting near full marks . I did pretty awfully at A Level as I gave up and couldn't be arsed. Still got me into a good uni for my subject.
  6. Gonna? Sounds like he already is. By a less than well endowed man.
  7. Said it before, will undoubtedly say it again - business studies is a subject that a number of people I know got damn near full marks for. Mickey mouse.
  8. I couldn't quite remember the exact figures for Spurs Risso but again, I think people have this impression it's going to be arseloads - it isn't. £8.5m a year whilst it isn't pittance by any means, isn't that much in football club terms is it?
  9. It is worth noting again that even if this is a pretty big deal by Premier League standards, it'll still not be masses of money. When Spurs agreed their last deal that was (and still was until it ended this season) one of the biggest in the league and that was the nowadays in football terms comparatively small figure of about £6m a season. So it's not like this is going to make us suddenly flush with our cash. But every little helps.
  10. I was having a shower this morning, had BRMB on in the background as usual when I'm at home, and it suddenly dawned on me that every single song they played I had hated and thought was shit. I've spent so long away from commercial radio that it was like a shock to the system when I listened to it for any length of time and realised that, across the board, there was nothing worth saving about any of those songs. I barely heard a real instrument I don't think. Every single one, heavy processed beat, all using the same generic layout for the music... crap.
  11. No word on the figure... saying it's the biggest in the clubs history doesn't really say a lot.
  12. Gay Dad - Different Kind of Blue into 3 Colours Red - Beautiful Day. Woo, 90s.
  13. I hope so, I'll be expecting it .
  14. Just ordered from Shopto woohoo.
  15. From the Portugeuse Second Division 2nd highesy scorer to the Prem.... could be great could flop. Wonder what the pricetag was.
  16. I had wondered if the lion had a limit for getting it, cheers. Had one twice now, it makes the page look more complete. Good idea whoever came up with that one.
  17. From what I know from other sites, the ads and so on do generate income, but it's not a lot at all. Every little helps and all that, so clicking them is worthwhile, but not really enough on it's own to maintain a site.

    Do you read?

My problem with Blood Meridian was almost entirely down to the writing style, I just really don't get on with at all. It makes reading it more of a chore than an enjoyment for me. Glad to hear the Bridge is popular, Iain Banks apparently thinks it's the best of his non sci fi fiction and I'm quite looking forward to getting into it. It'll have to be good to supercede the Crow Road as my favourite Banks book though.

    Do you read?

I've essentially set Blood Meridian aside for a while. It's annoying since I know it's a good read but I'm really struggling to get into it and get along with it. In the meantime, I'm shifting to Iain Banks' The Bridge.

    Fox Cull?

Let some good come of it and put them out for the foxes.

    Fox Cull?

Little do you know Tony that the mother is simply showing them what to eat in future - your parents. Best shoot them now. The foxes that is.

    Fox Cull?

whaaattt?? Leaving the door open is a crime now? No to a cull though, would achieve nowt, there's millions of the things Of course I'm not saying leaving your door open is a crime but I am saying that by leaving the door open, she is complicit in letting the animal into the house, if she hadn't this doesn't happen. Now that doesn't stop this being a freak accident, but she's still not without some blame.

    Fox Cull?

I was wondering when this would turn up. Are we having a problem with foxes ravaging children? If we are they're keeping it quiet. So does that make this an isolated and sad freak occurence? Yes. So no to a cull. EDIT - and it seems the mother left a door open... little bit of guilt there herself?
  24. Perhaps the team buying him would see him in a different role than we desire - for example they might see him as a good sort of target man, whilst we see him as main goalscorer.
  25. My nan used to work for HP in Aston years ago, and would never eat tomato sauce, simply saying she'd seen how it was made. Never told us what it was exactly that had put her off but she'd not touch it.
