  1. You haven't got any bollocks. I can't say I've ever done the talc on the family jewels myself, but this topic almost makes me want to try.
  2. He means Bane, not Bale. In the comics, thats this fella . His back story is that he was raised in an prison in South America for tedious narrative reasoning, during which time he has plenty of time to develop his natural skills - he's very intelligent and also bloody strong and likes murdering people. He eventually gets used a test subject for a chemical with a silly name (Venom) that he gets addicted to and makes him even more immensely strong. He eventually gets it into his head he needs to kill Batman for even more tedious reasons. A lot of Batman fans love the character, he's one of the newer roster (I say newer, he's got to be knocking on for 20 years now) of Batman enemies and got a lot of love for being in a storyline where he cripples Batman by snapping his back over his knee. Personally, I think the character is bollocks if you follow the comic canon. He appeared in the god awful Batman and Robin as a glorified henchman. The problem with your other suggestions Dem is this. The Penguin you either play really straight, which the newer comics have done - which means he ends up just being a gangster with a funny look, or you play it over the top in which case you get Danny De Vito in Batman Returns. And the Riddler is way, way, way too close to the Joker, especially if you play him 'realistically' like Nolan did with Joker - in fact that interpretation of the Joker borrows a bit of the Riddler's gimmick arguably in the trials he puts Batman through in TDK the only difference really is that the Riddler asks the question, and the Joker just set the task. I'm surprised they've gone down the Catwoman route (although to be fair the Warner Bros announcement doesn't expressly state she'll play Catwoman... she does play the character who becomes Catwoman - it's possible he's just named the character as an Easter Egg for the fans... but probably not). I think they may try to play her differently too, bring her in as someone who's took it on herself to replace Batman as he has been made into the enemy at the end of TDK, and ends up being an antihero. That lines been played in the comics before but may work in Nolans universe. Done right, I can see it working. Not sure about Hathaway being able to pull it off but ****, leather catsuit + anne hathaway = eyes on stalks and tongues on the carpet. How they do Bane I really am looking forward to seeing because that character is going need a lot of squeezing into Nolans vision of Batman to remain anywhere near faithful to the original concept of the character whatsoever. I can't see Nolan picking up the Venom serum crap, and I can't really see him sticking to the back story and the abilities of the character, because it's all a bit too silly and stupid.
  3. Begins has the Scarecrow and Ra's al-Ghul as villains. Rises is due for release next June.
  4. They're going to have to tinker Bane to work I think. Very surprised he's gone down the Catwoman route. Very happy for Anne Hathaway to get the part though, phwoar.
  5. Bjork - Bachelorette. into City and Colour - Body in a Box.
  6. You can support the team without supporting the man in the dugout.
  7. Theres no reason to support the man just because he isn't going to be sacked soon. If he's unutterably crap, let him know.
  8. You misunderstand me. I dislike Houllier, saying nothing of his success or not. I wouldn't like him if he managed someone else. I'll never like the guy. I might eventually approve of his management, if he won me round with success on the field (which currently based on his track record seems unlikely but lets be hopeful, eh, as we're stuck with him), but I still wouldn't like him. If I did come to approve of him as he had become successful with us, I wouldn't, like I do now, hope he's sacked immediately obviously. Thats all I was saying before. It's a bit like if Redknapp managed us. I hate Redknapp, but if he was successful, I wouldn't want him sacked. If he failed though, I'd bay for his blood. Currently I don't like Houllier the man, and he's been crap - I'd rather see him go immediately.
  9. You asked me to look forward to excuse Houllier his failings, and I won't do that, it's pointless. He can't escape his failures, and as things stand now it's what came before at Villa that defines him. And it's been shite by and large. Almost exclusively shite. For a summary - I don't like Houllier, he's been crap, I'd much rather he wasn't Villa manager. While he is I'd rather he does well because whats good for Villa is good for us as fans obviously. I'd have sacked him by now, and until he starts to outdo himself and turns us around consistantly, I'd rather see the back of him. If he can make us better, I might not want to see him gone immediately. I'd still prefer he wasn't here mind.
  10. I'm not a fan of Houllier because I've seen little to make me approve of him. He's largely been a disaster. It would take a miracle to make me become a fan of him, as I just dislike Houllier. I don't like an awful lot about him, I don't like an awful lot of what he's done here (by which I mean asides from having a team he's responsible for the success of plummet in quality it seems), for example the Liverpool debacle, the Ireland hilarity, etc etc. For me to approve of him, however, I'd quite like to see us actually start to be good again. I'd like to see us be consistantly as good as we can be. If he can manage to make us do that, I might not want to see him leave very quickly. Until that happens, I'll just be deeply critical of him. Pointlessly deeply critical of him because we're as likely to sack him as we are to discover he can fly, but I'd rather be vocally critical rather than have silence taken as an approval.
  11. Looking forward, what would it take? The gift of sight?
  12. Aphex Twin - Hedphelym into Radiohead - Up on the Ladder.
  13. Clark ain't a left back, Gabby ain't a winger (and certainly not a left winger). Reasons to be hopeful, we've not been bad at times, but somehow theres still something missing.
  14. Blitzed my way through the first one and got cracking on this one today. What a great game. I do miss some elements of the RPG that the first had, but overall really enjoying it. Just recruited Mordin, interesting character haha. I'm wondering what other old faces will return. Got advised that a couple of the DLCs are incredible so have Kasumi downloaded and will go for Shadow Broker when I'm further into the game I think.
  15. I've watched Spiderman 3 a few times. It is shite to be fair, you could tell that from the moment they retconned the film story line to stick the **** Sandman in there. They then tacked on Venom as effectively an extended cameo that also played the character terribly. If they'd done the black suit and Venom correctly, and pretty much ditched the Sandman for someone better (they'd had 2 films to realise that Doc Conners is a fairly prominent supporting cast character and, shock horror... he becomes a villain!) they might have mad e a decent film out of it. I do think a lot of that film was undermined by the fact Raimi didn't really want to make it and didn't like what he was being given to work with so ended up not giving a shit (he hates the Venom character but fan pressure meant the studio wanted the character introduced for example). If that hadn't had been the case it might have been a decent end to a decent trilogy.
  16. I wouldn't put myself down for the bone marrow one. Supposed to be one of the most painful medical procedures around.
  17. We had an attempted murder outside my house last night, fun fun fun. Having the police close the road off is nice though, it's quiet.
  18. My dad gave blood for years, he got very close to get getting the top donor badge that they did/do. But getting cancer meant he had to stop. He was actually a bit pissed off to be honest. I'll give blood myself in future. I've given blood samples before and that wasnt bad at all, and I've never been bothered with needles.
  19. First shot of Andrew Garfield in the suit for the Spiderman reboot, due for release in 2012 and almost certainly I reckon, going to be in some way inspired by the Ultimate comic line... which I don't think is going to be a great thing.
  20. Nor me. I do sort of know what my nans was. The rare one.
  21. Actually has a go on one of the guys at work's iPad the other day, couple of mins on a blatent Halo rip off called Nova. That type of title will never work on a touchscreen. I also discovered that there must be something wrong with my fingers because it would not recognise an awful lot of my touches on the screen at all.
  22. If he gets fit and can even be half arsed, he'll destroy that league.
