  1. Shock horror at that one. If he settles thats their keeper sorted potentially for the next decade (if not longer).
  2. Having to turn down a lads midweek birthday getaway to the seaside.
  3. I don't think this season especially that it's that simple as saying 'we finished 9th so we're the 9th best'. It was far too tight for that and that is damning in itself. But hey, everyone else can be overjoyed with the 9th if you like, no skin off my nose.
  4. If we'd conceded a goal yesterday we'd have finished 15th. The 9th thing is rather less telling that it seems. Shite season, looking increasignly like next season will be presided over by the same manager.
  5. If true, will be an absolutely idiotic decision.
  6. I'm terrified that that may be the case.
  7. Anyone recommend a book like Kerouac's On the Road? I thought Naked Lunch since Borroughs was a big influence on Kerouac, but I've not read either title so suspect the influence isn't overly direct.
  8. I just think he's a man who is used to the top end of the table everywhere (and I also think he's considerably more suited to Italy even now which would count against him being in our dugout further). In my eyes he's the kind of manager who can steer a very good side well, but suffers a lot when things get a little tougher. His time at Milan is punctuated by Milan underachieving (their fans growing increasingly uninspired by him over that period) as other teams got into their stride. He won 1 Serie A with the other traditional big guns misifiring and Milan's team coming together well. He predominately won cups, achievements that hold a little less sway with me when you consider their are much more based in luck than other achievements and he did them with first rate sides. That doesn't say much for us. I'm not saying he's a bad manager, far from it (though admittedly I've never rated him like some), but I do think he's the kind of manager who is suited to the top end, rather than scrapping below title hopes. I don't think he's got it in him to get his hands dirty and drag every ounce of ability from less skillful/fit/performing players, which is what we need.
  9. I don't think Ancelotti would be a good move. Assuming he'd even take the job.
  10. I bet most end up at maths beforehand.
  11. We won't reveal anything tomorrow. It'll be June before we know or hear anything we haven't already.
  12. The Walking Dead is an example of them being pretty uninteresting imo. I love the series, but the zombies are the least interesting part of it. They're almost like scenery, they provide the setting and very little else, occasional moments of threat, and thats it.
  13. Zombies. Pretty much any media featuring zombies is either actively made worse by their presence, or they bring spectacularly little in the way of interest to it. Even straight up zombie films suffer from this imo. Shaun of the Dead is one of my favourite films, brilliant in its opening act, yet the moment it becomes a more overt zombie film it steps down in quality immediately. Another example, Red Dead Redemption, my favourite game of last year, has a zombie apocalypse themed add-on. It's widely regarded as one of console gaming's best add-ons ever, and yet the zombies succeed in only making the gameplay more annoying and reducing the vanilla game's charm.
  14. ^ Yes. Once at Villa Park and once at Everton, it's understood they said 'hello' before each match.
  15. We do, it mostly covers the state of the actual media, which were all fine, rather than the cases, which just had this dirt on them. They'd be fine if someone put a wet cloth over them, assuming the smell came off with whatever the crap on them was.
  16. What do you do for work, Chindie? I'm pretty sure he works at a computer game store. Indeed. I think more or less anywhere that offers a trade in service is going to get some questionable people once in a while, and we certainly do (I would hate to think how much stuff we get come in is nicked for example) but that woman yesterday and her stuff is the first time I've felt repulsed.
  17. The clusters of balls seem to rotate on the edge of your focus if you stare at the centre.
  18. I was genuinely damn near retching serving at work today. We get some pretty grim examples of humanity come in but **** me... eugh. Doing a trade in for this woman who stank, the stuff she handed over was absolutely vile. It was covered in what appeared to be just dirt, but it smelt horrible, smelt like a wet ill dog. This stuff was inside the cases as well, and they felt and smelt very slightly damp, it' was horrible. Worse, I made a mistake trying to rush through these trade ins to just get away from having to handle this crap and had to redo them again. Then I had to process and stock them. I washed my hands about 4 times before touching anything going near my mouth after that, it wouldn't surprise me if it was dried on shit.
  19. ..sigh. I like Hardy. But Bane is **** bollocks.
  20. Philips is a vile woman, a hateful bitch. Shes accused my old uni department of antisemitism. Twice. It led to the department having to ask students to consult them over any issues before writing to the cantankerous old bint. Along with Warsi, shes bound to raise my blood pressure before they've even spoken.
  21. Shami Chakrabati? Shes generally worth listening to, I generally find Liberty is bang on the money. She occasionally goes off a bit, but we all have some questionable views.
  22. Statements turned into questions, like 'So and so really is great, isn't it?'. Dunno why, just annoys me.
