  1. Either Meireles is a moron, or theres been stuff going on behind the scenes and the transfer request is just the final touch to get the move. I'm banking on the former for hilarity.
  2. Recently happened with my local Greek pizzeria... the family that owned it sold up and moved back to Thessalonica (why they'd want to move to Greece, I don't know, though I suppose that living in Greece with a few hundred thousand dollars stuffed in the mattress isn't that bad). The new owners (fresh off the boat) have **** up everything: they've changed the cheese mixture, messed up the sauce, and the pizza's not as greasy. It's **** annoying. I eventually made the plunge last night and ordered from another place, well rated, offered what I wanted, more expensive by a quid but still. It turned up and it was nice enough but just totally different to the old places' loveliness. It actually looked like a completely different dish too. . Search goes on I guess.
  3. Thankfully I have better things to do than fantasise over my dislike of Kakuta, but whatever makes you feel superior duder.
  4. Indeed. He's the exception to the rule, I wouldn't wish that on any other player. But that night Kakuta put himself in a very special category in my kind, one deserving of all my ire - **** him, I hope he has no career, and every tackle I manage to see go in on him I hope it's late, high, and hard. I think you might need to get some perspective. I'm sure I couldn't care less what you think.
  5. I thought the Palacios fee was a bit steep too. Guess you can put it down to Spurs being bastards to deal with. The Crouch fee is a bit steep too - £10m? Ouch.

  7. Yes. I've never claimed to not bear a grudge. There are exceptionally few players I despise like Kakuta.
  8. Kakuta gone to Bolton. Good. More time for a deserved leg breaker.
  9. Played well in Scotland. Came to England, hasn't been much cop. ...hmm.
  10. When your favourite curry place goes into new ownership, and is nowhere near as good anymore. I used to have one place I always ordered from, they were great value, stupidly fast, and delicious. And their menu was great. I ordered from there after a bit of a break a month ago and it was vile. Turns out they'd sold up and the new chaps couldn't do it like the old guys. I'm having to search around to try and find a new one without silly limits for delivery that isn't miles away that does the dish I want, and even then it's a gamble that it's going to be up to scratch.
  11. Well they've been trying to get another defensive midfield body in and seemed to be aiming for someone who might be happy to warm the bench or even just make up the numbers (but also still be very good - they went for van Bommel the other day, got rebuffed). I think Hargreaves matched what they wanted (injuries aside) and was an easy get, so they went for him knowing they don't need to rely on him. I think they just decided it was an easy move to make, and if comes off they're laughing. If they aren't, they've not really risked anything, and been able to get it done fast with little hassle.
  12. Spike Lee's doing it, Josh Brolin cast as the lead.
  13. That's pretty much the only thing that pleases me about this transfer.
  14. He's a gamble they can afford. They don't need to rely on him because of how many players they have ahead of him, allowing him to stay as fit as possible for when they might need him - most likely in January/February when the ACN comes round again and Yaya Toure buggers off for a month. Saying that, it's still a helluva gamble, he cannot stay fit. His knees are utterly, utterly ****. If there was a hope of him being reliable he'd still be at Manchester United.
  15. £60 is most places price, believe the RRP is £70. I'd have been getting it for £45-52.50 . The lack of a proper game case is idiocy from the buyers POV.
  16. Bugger. I was planning on being a bit of an idiot and grabbing the Collectors Edition of this. I love the game, I like my Batman stuff, and staff discount would make it slightly less of a rip off. (I just wanted the statue...) Anyway, annoyingly, these hopes are dashed. Firstly it's being offered as an online only item by our place so I can't claim staff discount without doing a couple of annoying things first to get a copy into store, which is a pain in the arse. Without the discount I'm not crazy enough to drop the cash it'll cost. Secondly, see that picture? There's something missing. A proper game case. The game comes in a paper sleeve attached to the artbook it also comes with. What a **** stupid idea. I'm convinced this is just another use of CE releases to combat preowned sales, but it's just dumb - a paper sleeve not only doesn't afford the same protection of even the shitty eco cases they're releasing things in these days, but it also is just more awkward to store. You're supposed to slip the whole artbook/sleeve thing in behind (or under) the statue, which then goes back in the box, which goes on the shelf... It can't have cost any more to just give us a proper case, surely? Looks like I'll be ordering the steelbook from Shopto. Also, they're going crazy on the different skins. There's talk theres another one being given away with the release of the Green Lantern on home media. And theres a load of others knocking about. It got so bad with the different bonuses and editions for this game that the Community Editor of the official site had to put together a guide of who's getting what, where on release.
  17. I'd rather we straight up sold him if we were letting him go. A loan does little for us. Except pay the wages for a week. Maybe. If we're lucky.
  18. He was legitimately a great player in France, especially for Lille. I saw so with my own eyes. For Aston Villa he's been a completely different player. Even accepting the difference in the leagues, he's been like night and day to what he's French performances showed.
