  1. Hold the phone, it's Dean Saunders moms birthday!
  2. Spectre has bigger problems than that I think. Agree that Skyfall is a weird curiosity because of it though. I know why they did it, the 50th anniversary and all that, but it's a weird little film in part because of it. Especially as they'd only just done a 'soft reboot' of the series with Casino Royale 6 years and only a single movie before.
  3. In my defence I genuinely can't remember ever having heard Dean Saunders speak :D. On tonight's showing, good as he was for us, that's probably a good thing.
  4. 'The one thing you can say about this Villa lineup is its got some names you recognise in it, haven't been able to say that for a while'. WTF does that mean? Who is this idiot on Radio 5?
  5. Elba as Bond won't happen, mostly because he's probably too old to start off now, but if he did take on the part, or any non white bloke, it could immediately confirm the fan theory that James Bond 007 is a code name that has been passed between different men over the years. You'd have to ignore Skyfall of course, unless you also assume the DB5 comes with the name as well...
  6. The argument usually boils down to white dominance being institutionalised, and thus the minority actors are prevented from taking the roles that they might shine in as brightly as any white nomination, as well as, particularly in the Oscars, studios not pushing minority actors and directors to garner nominations and wins. Basically, whilst I agree with you and it should be a pure merit based award, the argument comes down to the deck being stacked against the minority participants and therefore it can't be a meritocracy. Not that the Oscars are that anyway, but that's by the by. The major omission this year seems to be Idris on the basis of what I've heard, the other films and performances I don't recall immediately having award worthy praise at release, whilst Elba in Beasts of No Nation instantly had excellent critical reaction.
  7. They may as well have plucked some other names from the hat while they were at it...
  8. I've not really bothered with any news on the Division but watching some footage this morning, it's Destiny smashed into Ghost Recon without the squad commands. It looks pretty, and I actually think there's legs in a Destiny style game without the odd flaws of Bungie's title, but this looks a little dull and there's something completely... disorientating... about the realistic setting with real weapons, but then watching an assault rifle empty 2 clips into a bloke in a hoodie before he falls over. You look past that when it's whacky space rifles and aliens the size of the Hulk, but when it's an AK47 set to full auto at some guy dressed like a taxi driver it's harder to accept.
  9. Grab your bugout bag, they're onto you... You don't want to be David Kelly'd...
  10. He's had an absolute howler on the general knowledge.
  11. Did alright but got a couple of bankers completely wrong. Also looked like he was about to burst into tears. Quivering lip.
  12. 9 is easily the best. Fantastic game. Must have played through it 5 times, used to be a bit of a summer tradition.
  13. The Witcher 3 will always be buggy, no matter how often it's patched, so I wouldn't hold out on there ever being a version without it's kinks.

The first series of Serial pisses over the second, to date, from an absurdly great height.
  15. The only celebrity to get to me when they went was Pratchett. He'd been an enormous part of my life and he suddenly went the day after my dad passed away and I palpably felt that loss even when grieving over my father. I wasn't distraught to lose my favourite author but it still hit me.

Glad you like it. Certainly not for everyone, but I've unashamedly laughed my arse off at some episodes. Given what they talk about, that's saying something. Give a couple of the non-murder episodes a listen, the stuff they do on aliens and the paranormal is fascinating and hilarious. Particularly the Hotel del Coronado and the Betty and Barney Hill episodes, and the Dulce Base episode. Some of the 'Heavy Hitters' episodes are quite hard to listen to, as funny as they can be the subject matter goes seriously dark. Toybox Killer, BTK, Dahmer, those I found hard going, and particularly Chikatilo - those episodes, for some reason, haunted me after listening.
  17. See also VillaAjax's car. I think it was a Mustang wasn't it?...
  18. Thats a fairly common glitch IIRC. Try fast travelling somewhere, meditating or just reloading, and try calling her again.
  19. Any protest is the acting out of frustrations of an impotent actor - It doesn't, and won't, achieve anything constructive because it can't, but makes it clear there are frustrations. Ignoring the fact that anyone that cares already knows there's frustrations. It's a collective tantrum.
  20. I wouldn't hold out too much hope on that front... In fact, I wouldn't hold out any hope of that, because that isn't going to be what this statement will be about. You could probably cobble the statement together now actually... 'We're disappointed at the position the club finds itself in' 'Remi has clubs backing' 'We will invest this window to improve the side' 'We have contingency for going down' 'Understand and share frustrations' 'Continue to hold discussions about future of the club and investment'. Etc.
  21. Even if there is a statement it isn't going to contain anything of use to anyone. They may as well not bother, except that will only increase the pressure that theres no communication from the club and the ownership is distant.
  22. You can easily get up into 70 odd hours or more. However it's design is more or less set up to be played in smaller chunks, the missions you have can take anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour depending on how you approach them, so whilst it's a big game, you can break it down into bite sized pieces.
  23. You can still get odds on Garde to go at Skybet (7/2), and I don't think Paddypower at the moment offer odds on any manager going. Twitter being a paragon of utter, utter horseshit again.
  24. Ref was absolutely dying to give that.
  25. UK release is 22 January. Looks interesting.
