  1. Engineers - Thrasher leading into Jeff Buckley - Mojo Pin 2 very good tunes.
  2. De Niro. Pacino has become hopelessly typecast, and partly I think it's his own fault. Plays the same character in every film he's in. Scarface probably is the culprit. And even that isn't that good. Whereas De Niro is quite versatile, capable of parodying himself in the likes of Meet the Parents, which showed him a good comedy actor, or the more serious aspects of his range in his more well critiqued films like Raging Bull.
  3. One of Aphex Twins best songs (if not THE best, taken from Selected Ambent Works 85-92, a great album)
  4. Newcastle. Small Heath will never be that good and it's good to have the derby. Newcastle meanwhile are a laughing stock driven by rabid delusions of granduer. It'd be hilarious to see them go down, and best of all regardless of the money I don;t think they'd easily come back. It'd also show what prats the Geordies are, they lapped up 'King' Kev's return, buying the shirts with his name on the back and the little cardboard crowns. Allardyce wasn't doing well but it was crazy to sack him and then even more insane to replace him with a bloke that a)doesn't know how to deal with their biggest problem, the defence has been out of the game for some time and looks completely out of his depth (because he is) and c) then choose to bring in a loud of execs for no apparent reason other than some ham fisted way of trying to make things better, but which in fact made things infinitely worse by undermining whatever authority Keegan had. So Newcastle it is for me, bring them crashing to back to earth with a very heavy Geordie bump.
  5. The version from Hvarf-Heim. Still not managed to get hold of the original Von, or the album of the same name. Hopefully will get round to it one day, and get round to picking up Heima which is meant to be stunning.
  6. Haven't listened to In Rainbows for a bit, despite Radiohead being my favourite band. Great album. One of the few bands that experiment with their sound successfully and consistently IMO.
  7. Very much back to old school Feeder. Sounds good. Anyways M38 - Moonchild going into Dandy Warhols - Godless , a song that may be familar to bill Bailey fans.
  8. Massive Attack - Angel Can't believe this song is 10 years old now...
  9. Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful (I'll Put a Spell on You) A song best known for being used to sell VW Beetles. I really should look into more of his stuff if this song is anything to go by, but never bothered.
  10. Bizarrely one of their best songs AFAIC, but consigned to being a b-side. In fact quite a few of their b-sides are twice as good as anything on their second album. Even if they aren't your cup of tea, this and are worth a listen anyway. Shame the second album was awful compared to the first.
  11. Or married to them! :winkold: ...touché
  12. Currently 43% have said football... Right so that means that 43% of the site is pre-pubescent or needs to put some more effort in in the bedroom. I'd have thought it'd have been no contest really. I love the game but you know... I love something else that bit more . Of course it could mean 43% of the site are middle aged hoursewives... I kid I kid!

Just a warning that the ITV showing of this has been cut. Never watched it myself but have heard its very good, just happen to know the ITV ones are edited.
  14. Jesu's Silver EP is immense. The last album not quite so much. Little Lover's So Polite - Silversun Pickups
  15. Amazingly good song. My favourite Cat Stevens song actually... I'll leave the Elbow for a bit and go to... Wild World - Cat Stevens.
  16. You're Not Alone - Olive Also, for any Elbow fans, Seldom Seen Kid is...cough, available. Not that I can do anything about it, damn uni network.
  17. I reckon Elbows new albbum could be very very good if is anything to go by. really like them but their albums always seem to a slight let down, they'll produce a few great songs and then a load that don't quite get to that standard. Hoping Seldom Seen Kid bucks that trend. Anyway, currently on Sea Song - Doves. Great song by a very underrated band. Their earlier stuff, like this, appears in loads of TV shows, especially Top Gear.
  18. Children - Robert Miles. Possibly the best euphoric/trance/dance track ever IMO. going into http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj3zdFzafIM, possibly my favourite Snow Patrol song and from the period before they became popular and crap. Great song and one a lot of people relate to. Love it.
