I think we'll lose. Newcastle are a really strong side and have had an unchanged team for months where as ours is still in flux.
Like others have mentioned, I'd just like to see a solid performance with more attacking intent in the final third. If we came out of this with a clean sheet it would be a great achievement.
So if we can offload Warnock to Blackburn for Olsson, and Hutton to Stoke for Jones (probably with some minimal cash involved in both)... think we'll have made enough of a dent in the wage budget to be able to get in that creative winger/attacking midfielder we need?
If it turns out to be OGS then I like the move. Whether a Premier League job is too early for him at this stage of his career is a very good point, but I'm glad we're targetting a guy who is young and on the up rather than in decline.
Having learnt from one of the most successful managers in the game can't be bad on a CV either.
Now it is the Mirror, but the Sanchez Flores link has been there in the background the past couple of weeks. At the very least the board should sound out his representitive to see if he would be interested because, and I can't emphasise this enough, I would hire him every day of the week over Alex McLeish.
Woah. Some people need to calm down. Nothing has even happened yet. Really going to take the medias word for it after the amount of stuff they've got wrong these past two weeks?
The McLeish link has less chance of working than McLaren. I can't see Lerner refusing an interview based on possible fan reaction to Steve, and then going after the Blues manager!
These past two weeks, I doubt even 1% of all the Villa related tweets have been right. Twitter is stupidly good at spreading rumours, and usually false rumours in this case, fast.
