  1. Like I said prior to list, some songs mean something and meeting someone and later marrying them makes a difference, than if I was single still.
  2. I know what team I would like to see but think he will stick with the same Newcastle starting line up! Personally, I would like Gil and/or Traore in but it won't happen!! Moreover, if he plays Gestede in this one it will play straight into Collins' hands, as he can cope with a lazy big man. Would love a scrappy 1-0 but think it could be a draw again. Really don't like the line up below for a home game though: ---------------------Guzan Hutton-----Okore-----Lescott--------Bacuna ----------Sanchez-----Westwood---------- -----------Veretout------Gana---------- ---------Ayew--------------Sinclair----------
  3. Really hard to do this but have tried to put a mini timeline of songs that have meant something at one time or another. I am 40 years old now and started loving music as a child in the 80's to present day: 1. Duran Duran - Is there I should know 2. Genesis - Throwing it all away 3. Simply Red - Holding back the years 4. New Order - World In Motion 5. Embrace - You're not alone 6. Stone Roses - She bangs the drums 7. Oasis - Champagne Supernova 8. The Sundays - Here's where the story ends 9. James Morrison - I won't let you go 10. Take That - Rule the world
  4. Think we need a platform to build on, so although we need to win games fast it is a must not lose game for me now! We therefore need to be solid at the back and have pace up top. Richards back hopefully and perhaps Westwood can feed the front 3 better than Sanchez? ----------Guzan--------------Okore-Richards-Lescott-Clark----------Westwood---------------Gana---------Veretout----Traore----Ayew----Sinclair Would have Grealish and Gil coming off the bench to keep the ball better in the second half. Score draw for me but would love to sneak a 2-1.
  5. Think we need pace up top and get the ball quickly to the front three! Would go for this as we need Bacuna's pace against Walcott: ----------Guzan--------------Hutton-Okore-Richards-Bacuna----------Sanchez---------------Gana---------Veretout----Traore----Ayew----Agbonlahor Predicted draw against Saints last week and honestly think the best we can hope for is same again (draw).
  6. 532? Richardson has moved from left back to under Bacuna when reposted on here for some reason? Not sure why? Think that team can give them a game and can be solid enough. Still think we can get a draw.
  7. Have to disagree with this to a point, we can't keep a clean sheet on a regular basis and look like conceding 2/3 goals a game. That is why I like the idea of five at the back! All about opinions of course but would like to see how it works now Okore is fit.
  8. Think it could work as five at the back including Sanchez without the ball, can quickly change to three at the back when we have it. In addition, wing backs could suit our front two, especially Gestede? Who knows but think we need to try something different at the back, without Hutton and Clark! For me, think it could be a draw!!
  9. Guzan Bacuna Okore Richards Lescott Richardson Sanchez Gana Gill Gestede Ayew Think we need to try something new at the back? Couldn't decide between Adama or Gestede, but went for the big man as away from home and may need to hold the ball up top better? Think we could be more solid with that kind of line up, then have Adama and Agbonlahor coming off the bench in the second half to scare them with pace?
  10. Working in a customer service role, I now hate hearing the opening words "what it is mate".
  11. Be brave boys! Feel excited but sick at the same time. Going to cry when Abide with Me starts!!
  12. Think I will cry when Abide with Me starts!
  13. C'mon you Villa boys! We can do it with a bit of luck on our side but most of all "be brave".
  14. General, Today, we were out-run, outfought and outplayed by a Newcastle team who showed real hunger and desire to get something out of the game. It's just a diabolically poor performance from the team as a whole… and totally unacceptable! It's so disappointing when you see what appears to be a lack of effort and what bothers me most is that most of them are quite experienced players. We can accept a defeat to anyone as we have no divine right to win any game, but the real worry for me was the style of our defeat today, as we put up virtually no resistance during the match and seemed doomed to defeat from the first goal to the last. As you can see from the comments already posted, we as fans care and are not happy - Please could you ensure that our comments and concerns are shown to the players and let’s then see if they care?
  15. General, Not sure if you have been asked this before, but I would be interested to know. Now that you and Randy have bedded into the Premiership/English football, who from other league clubs (ie Owners, Chairman and their Officials) have you and Randy been most impressed with? Additionally, which clubs facilities/hospitality when travelling away have you and Randy been most impressed with? I ask this as did Randy take any ideas from other clubs when formulating the new Trinity Hospitality or would you say it is unique? Thanks
  16. Hi General, you may have missed my question from a couple of days ago and I would still be intrigued to see what your answer would be. Thanks
  17. On a light hearted transfer question General, I like many other Villa fans dream of certain players signing for our club at this time of the season, however unrealistic. My dream signing for the club over the last few years has been and still is - ‘Thierry Henry’. Just imagine him and John Carew up front together! Anyway, with your rose tinted Villa supporter glasses on General, is there one player who you would love the club to sign? If you don’t wish to provide Bill Howell with an exclusive General, you can cop out and provide the name of a past great if you like, as I’m sure this would be just as insightful.
  18. Hello General, Firstly, have the club ever thought about putting the words 'The Holte' in lights on the roof of the Holte stand 'inside' the stadium? I sit in the North Stand and on night games I think this would look fantastic! Secondly, during live televised games I've noticed that the cameras focus on the players coming out of the tunnel before a game - again have the club thought about putting the wording - Villa Park, Prepared or even Acorns around the tunnel roof?
  19. General, Just a quick question which you may or may not know the answer. Some time ago, 2 or 3 seasons back I think, the club ran an advert called 'finding a star' or something similar and coverage of this was on Sky. Basically, we were looking for a future talent and this was a bit of a gimmick and I guess exposure for the club. Did the club ever find a talented youngster? And would the club ever consider something like this again?
  20. General, Just a quick question, with the Doug Ellis stand the only one named on the roof inside the Stadium, are there any plans to have the other three stands names put on each roof? In addition maybe a clock or the new badge above the 'Holte' would look good! Finally, like everyone else on here recently - Thankyou !!
  21. General, In view of the above posts re 32Red.com and the release of our new home and away strips shortly, could the club offer a 'special' price for fans purchasing either or both shirts/strips for next season? The reason I ask this question is that this kit is likely to only have a one season life span (ie due to end of contract with 32Red.com). If a discounted price cannot be offered, could a discount be provided for any fan willing to make the same purchase the following season (if prove of purchase was provided)? With two children in my household both wanting the latest kits on release, I am reluctant to spend a large amount of money for something that will only be 'new' for 12 months.
  22. General, Having read several posts (as above) about the Liverpool takeover today, do you know George Gillett and Tom Hicks and are they a threat to our charge for the Premiership title next season? In addition to this, hearing about their new stadium plans and having been to the Emirates Stadium on the first day and Old Trafford this season, do you think Villa Park can still compete as a first class arena? In the next 5 to 10 years can we upgrade Villa Park enough or do you think we may have to relocate?
  23. General, I would be interested to know what you and Mr Lerner have thought of your Premiership counterparts (ie Chairman/Chief Executive's etc) to date? How receptive have they been towards you both on matchdays and have you built up any decent relationships yet?
  24. General, I must agree with the above post, surely after todays announcement from Charlton that they are now willing to listen to offers for Darren Bent, we should place a bid at the very least? After years of dissapointment general, some of us are a bit sceptical when transfer windows are open!
  25. General, Just a couple of quick questions - Is the recruiting of the board/club officials now complete with the latest arrival of Richard Fitzgerald? If so, do you and Mr Lerner now feel that the people at the club can take it forward and become a successful and profitable business off the field? Finally, I would also be interested to know what you and Mr Lerner thought of your Chelsea counterparts last night (ie Mr Kenyon and Mr Arbramovwich) and how receptive other Premiership Chairman/Chief Executive's have been towards you to date?
