It was all technically correct, but horribly soulless and they don't really deserve to be behind. We've looked very ponderous going forward. Players isolated, chasing long balls, not much movement. There's no pace at all.
I was pretty complimentary about this guy earlier in the window, but as each day passes it becomes clearer that he could actually win a tw*t-off with Mbappe.
Ooooooh yeah!
This window just got real(er).
This is an excellent signing,
We are going to absolutely muller some teams next year.
ITSOTP, but assuming it's done....Big Welcome!!
Well I started following Villa in 94, so I missed the early one, but I didn't pick up on the 99/00 incident. I will have to go and investigate that, so thanks.
The only caveat I would use is that we were under Doug (bicycle kick) Ellis at the time, and he was never really known for his drive for professionalism.
Oh, i'm not embarrassed, and it's not the end of the world, but it doesn't give off the air of professionalism that we all suspect we've been trying to achieve.
In fairness, this is the think that's been most noticeably missing since his appointment. I've never known two badges, two representations of the club, to be used simultaneously in my lifetime supporting Villa.
The know inflation is still >8%, right? Prices are still rising, but slightly less fast. Costs are still rising by more than (aside from this year) they have since 1982.
Either they are idiots, or they know their readership are idiots.
Not about the money, though. If the Saudi league ends up being perceived as a retirement league for players, like the MLS he'll struggle to get a move to a credible European league, and NO ONE will be able to afford the ludicrously inflated wages, so he'll stagnate in a league where aside from maybe 4 teams, the standard will be like the Championship or League One.
In short, it's not good for his career. Money or no money.
