  1. This is quite possibly my favourite post on VT ever.
  2. Some bloke did a youtube video once where he made an entire meal in a hotel room just using the kettle (noodles cooked in the kettle) and iron (bacon). I'm not sure he will have got his deposit back.
  3. He looks 'delighted' to be there.
  4. One of my Wife's work colleagues was nicknamed Trigger because of the almost daily hilarious but dumb stuff they would say. My Wife worked on the fifth floor of an office building that had a lift. Unbeknown to my wife thr lift was out of order. She met Trigger outside in the morning and they had the following entirely true conversation: Wife. 'I just heard the lift is broken.' Trigger. 'Well the one on the ground floor is, but I don't know about any of the other floors.'
  5. Sure, I get that, and I gotta be honest it was good to see us beat them last year. I'm certainly not depressed after the great season we had. I think though that ultimately money generally equates success, and we have to be honest about what we're doing as a sport. We're at a bit of a turning point it seems at the moment, and we need those in charge to show some integrity in the face of the temptation of unlimited wealth. The league thinks that the patience of fans to endure extended periods of being unable to fairly compete is unlimited. I don't.
  6. To add some more context to this, our ppg in the league with Carlos last season was 1.44ppg. Without him in the lineup we were 1.63ppg. Obviously this is not definitive, and there are other factors at play, but it's worth pointing out I think. I'll be honest I was a big advocate of Carlos in previous years, but based solely on the 'eye test' (until I just worked out those figures), I found him disappointing last year.
  7. I dunno, it kind of looks a bit 'crown green bowling' to me.
  8. Well it's fair to say that in terms of results we've not had the best of pre-seasons, but that all means nothing now. I hope we've learned all the things we needed to have learned, and I hope our first game goes better than the same fixture last year, where we lost our defensive leader for a year and got battered. I'm sure it will. We've got a good team on paper, and an elite manager. West Ham are no pushovers though, these days, and we're gonna have to be on it from the start. Come on Villa, lets goooooo.
  9. I guess it's more emotionally profitable in the long term to support Manchester City then. The fact that the above statement is facetious just shows that fans are now not being entertained, they are being exploited for their allegiances. When did this start? Was it always like this to a degree? I dunno. It's just so dispiriting.
  10. Then something is horribly horribly wrong with the League.
  11. How is PSR of benefit to the integrity of the league. HOW? Chelsea going on another bender, chucking £185M around again despite finishing 12th and 6th in the last two years and only getting Europe because Man U win the FA cup . They've spent £794M in the last 5 years assembling a grossly bloated squad and hoarding talent. We're having to sell one of our best players to avoid points deductions. How is anyone meant to compete under these terms? How is it rewarding well run clubs? No one on earth can convince me that Chelsea is being well run. If Chelsea are compliant with PSR, then PSR is pointless.
  12. Just seen the football final. Man that French keeper is absolutely cack.
  13. Just got round to seeing Inside Out 2, and I gotta say I thought it was fantastic. It absolutely nails the experience of being human.
  14. I'm not a fan of personal politics, but it's the only way to take Trump on, and at this late stage they needed to be aggressive. I'm glad the Democrats have got someone who can highlight the absurdity of Don.
  15. Surely this is flimsy though. I'm not really sure what American values are these days but I'll still stick my neck out and say that suing someone for not using your product is pretty much the opposite of free market capitalism, and is pretty Anti-American.
  16. I suspect he's trying to be controversial now so that he can get as many users on board as possible over the next couple of months, and have the biggest influence possible on the election.
  17. Had a bit of a break from Rebirth, but I put it on for 10 minutes last night. 5 hours later, and at 4am I'd completed (as much as I wanted to- I didn't complete all of the Fort Condor mini game stuff) Junon ground level, went up top and completed all the SOLDIER stuff. I thought I was kind of cooling on it, but god damn it's magnificent.
  18. She's my hero. Plus this was one of the greatest photos of the 21st Century.
  19. This is what always gets me about people like him, and the Conservatives (big C) here. They have this reputation of being good with money, but they are not. They just put everything on the tab so that our children have to deal with the consequences. Same with climate change. The term 'conservative (little c)' is the biggest misnomer ever. They use the old cc and forget about tomorrow so they can live like kings today. Edit- for context, when the Conservatives came into power here, national debt in the UK was just over £1T (around 65% of GDP). When they left it was nearly £2.7T (just under 100% yes 100%! of GDP).
  20. He successfully avoided the war with China he nearly started. He also successfully steered the middle east away from a two state solution and into an interminable state of conflict. Successfully advocate alternative internal uses for domestic cleaning products during covid. Presided over more mass shootings during the 4 years of his administration (39) than in the preceding 9 years. And successfully built a tiny bit of wall which immigrants walk around. Oh, and almost successfully staged a coup with the intention of destroying democracy. You're welcome, world.
  21. They clearly got the price point wrong. By all accounts sales have increased 3000% since the price drop. The demand is there I think. Although I am gonna get the PC cable just to be safe.
  22. Not sure if there is a seperate thread for this. I looked but couldn't find one, so apologies if there is. I just took advantage of the price drop to get PSVR2. I have PSVR so this will be an upgrade. Firstly, to whet my anticipation for delivery, has anyone played on both iterations, and if so how much better is PSVR2 than the first? Second, what are the must have games for it? I have a few in the library which have been upgraded to work with the new kit, but I was sad to hear Blood and Truth is not one of those, because it was freaking awesome. Any new ones?
  23. I for one am very much look forward to the next time Unai Emery's Champions League Aston Villa get to play them. I'm very very much looking forward to it.
  24. Yes!! Well done Anna Henderson silver in the time trial.
