  1. I've never seen this, but that clip definitely makes me want to. That's some amazing acting.
  2. How much for just his knee? To be fair that's all we need. We've got the rest of a really good defender, we just need the bendy bit of another.
  3. I take it Prisoners still can't vote in the states? It would be funny if Trump couldn't do the usual photo op of the candidate voting on election day cos he's ineligible. Ineligible to vote, but eligible to run for President. Haha.
  4. Trump supporters have posted the names and addresses of the Georgia Grand Jurors online. More and more like the Mob every day.
  5. Plastic chairs my lord, plastic chairs....
  6. Gonna be a tough game, I think. We might have to be a bit lucky to get past them, the Aussies are strong.
  7. I think the should do what Elliot Ness did in the Untouchables. Go to Italy and bring all their refs over here, and send all our refs over there. Switch the jurors.
  8. Is the photographer OK? Looks like he continued shooting while the player ran at him. The last shot will just be a blurry image of the weave on the fabric.
  9. So why does it matter the relative quality of the women's game versus the men's? I'm not sure why you'd want to make that point?
  10. Or a rubbish side character from Alice in Wonderland.
  11. I just hope our training this week includes many sessions of defensive shadow play.
  12. He's good at looking moody in advertisements, if that helps? Tends to look less macho when a gust of wind makes him roll on the floor crying for 10 minutes.
  13. I don't understand how, other than perhaps due to fatigue, why a style suited to a cup run would not be suited to the league. Other way round maybe, cos playing for a draw in a cup competition is folly, but what is a league but an aggregation of individual games? You win all your games, you win the league, simple. Also if this statement refers to a differing approach depending on opposition strength, well that is equally applicable to both cup and league. After reading the thread, it appears to be a criticism of UE's system based solely on the Newcastle game. Err...worked OK for most of last season. It's just a rubbish attempt to extrapolate the failings of one match into a criticism of a system. It's absolute garbage. It also provides no rigour to their argument that what worked last year won't this year. Behold: So it worked last year because we have some top players. We haven't sold anyone, added two to three top players, but now, for ReAsOns, it won't work any more. Utter clown this dude. Whatever issues resulted in the loss yesterday, you cannot write off the whole approach of UE on the strength of one game, after we had 3rd place form last year during the Emery era. Maybe a tactic tweak, and either tempering, or better organisation of the high line, maybe, but not a complete do over.
  14. Pretty much. On first (you know that would not have been the case if we'd won 5-1), and then spent a good while discussing Tonali and Isak. To be fair they didn't lay into us too much, although the high line was lambasted.
  15. Ah, shit have I been done by the vagueries of the Internet again, sorry guys, my bad. I withdraw my post. Anyway, I think we all are in agreement that the Newcastle ownership stinks.
  16. Hang on I'll get a link for a summary. I'm rubbish at doing links in the right format, so I'll probably get a telling off, but here goes. Click for link
  17. In fairness, Sky Bet just did a survey (can't testify to it's validity, mind), in which supporters of PL teams were asked how happy they were with their current ownership. Villa topped the list with a figure we'll above 90%, whilst Newcastle were the lowest, with 3%. Edit, sorry, Sky Bet not Sky Sports
  18. And Arsenal, and Liverpool and Man U. Not saying Newcastle will finish below those teams, but they will be competing. If we're not there yet, and it seems not, then we are scrapping for 6th/7th again, which is not pushing on from last season. I'm actually fine with that, tbh, but it's not the continuous improvement we've been aiming for, and not the project Diaby and Pau will have signed up for. Look, I don't think it's the end of the world, let's hope it was a nightmare day at the office, but today, we've lost one of our most influential players, and unless we go big in the market again in a way we arguably can't afford, we will struggle to maintain our position. Let's just have a whisky, forget this and pray for a better showing against Everton, and a rabbit from the hat in the transfer market. Both of those objectives are attainable with difficulty.
  19. I'm not panicking, I think we'll fix it, I'm just angry, and to be honest I think quite justifiably so.
  20. It's almost like that wasn't the first time we conceded 5 in the last 3 and a half years.
  21. Absolute f***ing shit show. I'm proper angry at that. Folk will say Newcastle are a great side and that's true enough, but if we want to get to where we want to be they are direct competitors. I don't expect us to beat them, but we need to go toe to toe with them, and that was an utter thrashing. Players looked half arsed, well they can all f*** off. Get f***ed Villa.
