Ooooh. I've read this book a few times, and it was indeed epic. I liked how by the time i'd finished it, it had actually changed my thought processes. Certain comments or actions by a character which by western standards would be innocuous or throw-away were a huge deal in that culture, and I'd started to think like the protagonists.
Tai-pan is also great. In fact I preferred that one, although mainly because I've spent time in Hong Kong, and it was interesting to see it's formation.
I'll be up for this show.
We did most of South India (Mumbai downward) over 3 months. India can be hard, hard travelling but well worth it. There will be times you think: 'why the f*** am I here', but it is a hell of an experience.
Plus the states vary hugely in feel and character.
I'd recommend Kerela for newbies. It's a bit more modern and easier to travel, but wherever you go, safety is rarely an issue. You may get scammed, but generally there is little violence, at least in our experience.
You mentioned tigers, if you do Kerela then Kumily is good for tiger parks, plus you have the backwaters and Kochi, which is awesome. Bit of everything.
Hampi in Karnataka is a once in a lifetime experience.
Goa is v touristy and would avoid unless you go to the southern parts, which are less so.
Tail Nadu is a challenge, off the tourist track, and very.....rustic, but some of the temples and culture are incredible.
Good luck. You will have an unforgettable time.
Edit- Mumbai is f***ing crazy, man.
Just been to France which makes my list:
UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, USA, Egypt, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand. So still some work to do, but in my defence I've spent between 1 and 3 months in some of those.
Think you are right here. I know everyone has a management style, but these are adults here. If you have to shout at them like they are kids, then something somewhere is not right, and it is probably the manager's fault.
In fairness if we'd just been knocked out of the cup by blues 3 nil, and Bailey went out laughing and joking in All Bar One, the 'Game's gone' thread would be going crazy with folk saying 'players don't care any more'.
What he did was not technically that bad, but it doesn't scan well at all.
So they are both Representatives for Wellingborough? I think that's something we can all agree with.
Edit- oh wow, I finally just found the word that the naughty word filter substitutes that phrase for!! Woo hoo.
Representatives for Wellingborough all around!!
Are you struggling to get in the 'black' financially? I used similar tactics to CS1 and put loads of specialised industry, but with a small town I'm struggling to get there. I'm OK money wise cos of the bonuses on levelling up, but I always try to get sustainable asap. The costs for upkeep of any power generation except wind and coal seem very steep at the moment.
