  1. In fairness Grealish didn't know where England was on a map.
  2. Wow, is that true? If so his days are numbered here. And that number is less than 24.
  3. But that's the thing. A good executive will also be able to read the room, and will work with stakeholders. Introduce ideas, sure, great even, but work with them. Only a bad manager forces through an idea unilaterally that has already been roundly rejected by consumers. From where I am, outside the industry, it seems that branding's job is populist. Unpopular branding fails at literally the only job it has to do.
  4. Joey Barton Memory Lane.....hmm. I think in time he'll be remembered as fondly as a car accident, or the bubonic plague.
  5. Yeah, I would also expect that he'd walk if the owners stepped in, but are we expecting N&W to let this rumble on and commit to it for the next umpteen years when Villa Trust and FAB are kicking off, and there has been almost universal dismay online. Can you really adopt a 'they'll come around' approach' when only 12% (reddit final vote) of people actually like it, and 69% actively hate it? Call me insecure, but if 88% of people tell me I'm doing something wrong, I generally think the problem is me, not them.
  6. I don't mean a vote on what we'd like, like a consult, I mean a vote on finished options presented as fait accompli. To be honest that's all I've ever wanted. I'm not a designer. Just get a bunch of options and let us pick one. I know we have to fulfil marketing shenanigans, but we also need to get something that the fan base can get behind and be proud of. People are saying that it doesn't matter. I'm thinking there is a reason every country on earth has a flag that they rally behind. Not sure if, for example, a country with a giant turd on their flag would be mega successful internationally.
  7. Does anyone think we'll have a vote on the new v current designs? Might Wes and Nassef insist we have one if they become aware of the depth of feeling on this? I think we know which one would win. And then who would end up with a massive bollocking.
  8. Unai has to get them fired up for this one. We are not at home to Colin Complacency.
  9. I am slightly concerned that without VAR our high line might be subject to a few wrongful onsides.
  10. Was brilliant, loved it. First series was a pretty straightforward football documentary. Second series was like they got someone in to write a pisstake mockumentary of terrible management. The bit when their wideboy commercial guy, who must have been a parody of David Brent, decided that the stadium needed pumping techno music played at mind buggering noise made me laugh so hard I nearly punctured a lung. Also, much like the Wrexham Doc, I really felt sorry for their supporters, who seem decent people who've had a terrible run of it. Plus the opening music would have almost brought a little bit of a tear, if I wasn't so old and cynical and my tears hadn't turned to sand years ago.
  11. Sunderland with an impressive 26% possession so far according to BBC. Not able to see the game unfortunately. Do Beale's Sunderland have any wingers by any chance, or are they forcing it through a 1m corridor in the centre of the pitch?
  12. In fairness I don't think anyone else, including the refs know what the offside rules are at the moment. You need a Masters in astrophysics to understand them.
  13. Yeah I loved Brockmire. The service I had only streamed the first two series though. The second series went to some incredibly dark and interesting places between the laughs too.
  14. What's a squib?!? Man I can quote that series from memory.
  15. That was the most fascinating one. As you say contestant 1 said 'I'm 100% stealing and i'll split it with you afterward'. Contestant 2 is effectively bullied into voting split, or he'll get nothing, which he does. Then the first guy who said he's going to steal, also splits so they both ended up with the money. Really interesting tactic, underhand but for the right reasons, and as it turned out he was right not to trust contestant 2, as he said in interviews afterward that until he was forced into changing his mind he was absolutely going to try and steal. During the discussion he promised he would split, stating that his father had a saying: 'a man who does not give his word is not a man'. Turns out he never knew his father, haha. The argument went on for 45 minutes, getting heated, and the audience started to turn, booing Contestent 1. That episode has been studied since by psychologists. Watch it on youtube, it's incredible. Anyway, back on topic, Blues suck.
  16. If you've not seen Golden Balls, it's actually brilliant TV. People can be utter utter assholes, and psychology is laid bare in that show. Radiolab did a brilliant podcast on a particular episode, which I would highly recommend.
  17. Unfortunately im 44 this year Which is coincidentally the number of 'little aches and pains' I currently have (excluding the kids).
  18. Second playthrough now with the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty (although I've not got there yet). Man I love this game. Going full netrunner for this one. I generally wipe out most bad guys without setting foot in a building, then stroll in at my leisure. Overheat for the win. Awesome.
  19. You heard it here first. Jasper Carrott has taken control of first team affairs. They say he has golden balls.
  20. I grew up in Dudley, and most of my mates and horrible side of the family were West Brom. I can always enjoy a bit of banter, but usually when it came from Baggies fans there was a real barb in it.
