  1. Welcome Morgan! I have a good feeling about this one.
  2. Did he though? apparently when asked about his accent he said: "I have a strange accent myself, it's half English and half American, and everybody, my entire life, has thought I was Australian. "I have a lot of family in Melbourne – I came to Melbourne the first time when I was two years old and spent six weeks there, so I've been coming to Australia all my life." That might explain why he never sounds like a human being from a place.
  3. That's because it's his 'Valley' Geordie.
  4. Also thanks for bloody ruining The Gentlemen for me. I really liked that film.
  5. Oh my god, just checked and he is. Jesus wept, get that guy an accent coach.
  6. I'm not sure Charlie Hunnam counts in terms of accents. He's British (Welsh) but even his accent when playing English characters is appalling and usually destroys any immersion for me. His American accents are absolutely rubbish. When he's used his own Welsh accent (The Gentlemen), he's really good. He's the main reason I've not watched the TV adaptation of Shantaram, which is one of my favourite books. Not because I think he's a bad actor (he's clearly not), but I know his Australian (NZ because plot) accent will sound more like Jamaican, and it will destroy the show for me.
  7. I reeeeeeeeeaaaaalllly wish we had Pau back for this.
  8. Big fan of Giamatti and Payne. Will be seeing this. Funnily enough this is the second, independent mention of this being a great film I've seen tonight, which is weird for a film released last year? Or is it only just out now over here?
  9. I don't like gameshows where it's entirely chance. I don't mind some element of chance involved, that's fine, but there is almost no skill or knowledge involved in D or ND.
  10. The irony will be totally lost on Lutheran Republicans, I'm sure. Someone needs to nail the court order to the door of Mar-a-Lago
  11. Ah shit, Carney on. Written in the stars innit.
  12. So did VAR turn itself on just to disallow our goal? **** this game, man.
  13. The NRA have the amendment written on the wall in their headquarters with said 'militia' clause edited out. And they have been lobbying for the right of the 'individual' to bear arms for at least two decades. I'm not sure one person can be called a militia, well regulated or not.
  14. The 2nd amendment contains the words 'well regulated militia'. Those are generally ignored.
  15. You think so? He'll do a Putin and increase term limits, or create a new role, like PM above President. We can't say for certain any more that the establishment will stop him. He attempted a putsch at the end of his last term, and half the country (or more) are still going to vote for him.
  16. Increasing matchday attendance is not really our main issue financially. It's important to us as fans, yes, but from a marketing point of view, it's peanuts. That's why it's been scrapped. We all want the upgrade, but it won't make us money, and we should stop thinking about it in those terms. Figures vary slightly depending on sources, but using Forbes figures from May 2023, Villa's matchday income (£47.9M) makes up around 27% of our total revenue (£179M.) The big PL teams range from Man City (10%) to Arsenal (22%). If you are interested, at Man U it is 20%, Liverpool 15%, and Chelsea 14.9%. Assuming for a second we can increase the capacity of VP to 50,000 (17% increase in attendance from current), and assuming that we make the same from each of the spectators pro-rata, it will net us an extra £8.14M per year (bringing total matchday revenue up to £56.04M, and total revenue up to £187M (based on 2023 figures)). That would mean matchday revenue would be 30% of our total revenue (again assuming 2023 levels), and we'd have increased our total revenue by.......drumroll........ 4.3%. So there are many reasons to increase the capacity of VP, but overall increase of turnover is not one of them, and we shouldn't be saying that it would make a significant difference in the long term, unless we could make VP 60 or 70K, and even then, broadcast rights dwarf matchday income. Let's call for an improvement of the North Stand for reasons of prestige, or to help the boys on the pitch by creating atmosphere, but not for income.
