  1. As a layman, could someone explain how we could spend £260M and comply with FFP, especially after a season with no ticket revenue?
  2. Thought it was around 16. Ah well. Could be worth testing the waters in any case
  3. Good shout. His market value is £22.5M, so within our budget, if Juve would sell him. By the sounds of it though they are having some financial issues.
  4. "It's nice to be in the top 10 and we want to continue that, that was one of our aims this season, to make sure we were in the top 12.” Implies a pre-discussed target.
  5. One more. Likewise. Hope you have taken it as a spirited debate. Respect.
  6. Anyway, time for my dinner. Nice debating with you folks. UTV.
  7. OK. Would you work for that company? How long do you think it will last when they sack all their decent salesmen after 6 months, and then have to find replacements. Assuming you hired the best folks you could in the first place (and you would). How long before you get to Options B, C, D etc, who are inept and couldn't sell in 18 months what the first guy did in 6?
  8. That is absolutely not what I said or implied. What message would sacking Dean send to players who have stuck around like Jack? What message does it send to prospective managers? If you act like a mercenary, you get mercenaries. No organisation with massive staff turnover is sustainable. You just damage your own resource base.
  9. See your point, but you can't judge someone on performance against a set target, then move that target and criticise them for not meeting it. Target was 12th. Your expectation was 14th. Both met.
  10. I must admit Allani makes his points eloquently. I still don't agree that sacking the manager should even be on the table, but fair dues. Look we all know the squad needs work. It's blatantly obvious, and to Smith much much more so. But I also expect this to be addressed, and the precedent is that it will be. In my opinion there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that we would slip backward. There is no precedent for it.
  11. Not heard of him. Sad to say I don’t follow the youth team as much as I should. What type is he?
  12. I’m sorry but If I sacked my employees because I think their performance will drop next year I would be rightly taken to tribunal. Moreover who the F would want to work for a company that sacks employees for meeting targets?
  13. A normal business run by Villa fans: “Ah, Mr Smith take a seat. As you can see, year on year turnover is up again, our stock is the highest it’s been in 10 years. As our Managing Director you are to be commended. By the way you’re fired, because Amazon beat our sales projection. What? No we’re sacking you now just in case the turnover drops next year. Yes we will invest in infrastructure. No, we have no reason to think turnover will drop. There are your cards matey.”
  14. Rodrigo has made 24 appearances. The exact same number as Jack. Raphina 28 apps Costa 22 Harrison 34
  15. See that’s funny, because Transfermarkt say they spent 95.2 million pounds on transfers this year. With Rodrigo costing 1 mil less than Watkins. That’s on 14 players, a full team and half a bench. But it’s still the same team as the Championship, sure. And Rodrigo has scored 6 goals from 24.
  16. Again, this incredible manager who is showing Smith how it should be done has guided them to…..ONE PLACE ABOVE US! Picking up a whopping 4 more points!! F**k it you’re right, lets sack Smith and spunk another 100 mil on a rebuild. Involving Bamford.
