  1. We as fans are always thinking over much too short a timescale. Over a season injury crises, international breaks, they all even themselves out. A decent team, which is what we have, will do ok. I won’t be worried if we are in the bottom half in October. I will in February.
  2. I’d like to think i’d vote for an overhead kick over an average villa goal, but I guess you are right.
  3. You were right Bruno Fernandes won. Decent goal, but no way should it beat the Ings goal. Once in a season job. F***ing hate those plastic glory hunting bastards who support United.
  4. Our owners are ambitious to get to the level of other offers on the table now? Bristol Rovers are ambitious. Also, we've invested less this year than fees incoming, and most teams in the Prem pay high wages. In fact we currently have the 11th highest salary outlay in the league, below Everton, West Ham, Leicester and Crystal Palace. And that's without JG.
  5. Remember him getting sent off for pushing Teale (might have been Rico come to think) into the stands during the 94 Coca Cola Cup? Look at his little face........ Hahahahahahahaha........
  6. That is some find. Presumably period. How on earth did you find that (quickly before we get deleted for off-topic).
  7. Or at least mention the Malvinas, for god sake. What kind of chickens**t outfit is this?
  8. I agree. Smith has done a great job. Pep is a top manager. It’s not mutually exclusive.
  9. My first was under Ron Atkinson. Sheffield Wednesday at home in 1993. I was 13. 2 all. When Neil Cox scored for Villa the Holte End started singing 'We've got Cox and you aint' at full volume. Amazing day which cemented me as a Villa fan. Brian Little was my favourite manager growing up though. Not only because of the Coca Cola Cup, but some of the football we played under him was sublime. The players had real character too.
  10. Can I just say that if Ings does not win Premier League goal of the month for the Newcastle game, the world is 100% broken.
  11. I think what will probably happen is that we’ll get spanked for a while until things gets really bad, then we’ll end up putting Axel in there who’ll do a job, and we’ll recover to an overall ‘OK’ league position before finally **** sorting this nonsense out next summer. I’m very happy with our progress over the last few seasons, and I would not have anyone other than Deano and NSWE in charge, but I think collectively they will look back on the lack of Midfield recruitment this summer as a definite mistake.
  12. I agree with you, but i’m not sure when we will see our best players on the pitch. Could be Christmas at this rate.
  13. I appreciate what you are saying, but the discussion is about quality, not resilience. Is the squad more resilient with Jack gone? Certainly. Is it better quality? Well, I actually think it probably is, but for the sake of argument it’s not as clear cut.
  14. That’s a false comparison. Jack is not three players. You have to include the contributions of the other two players who were displaced by the new boys. Edit: Just realised about 3 others made this point before me. Sozzers.
  15. Latest from Deeney’s press conference. He’s just about to come out. Shh. Lets watch:
  16. The answer to all those questions is ‘midfield’.
