Get their first album, lyrics are amazing. They have certainly got better as musicians since then, but the rawness of it kind of adds to the charm.

Can I get a judgment on Arctic Monkeys please? For me their first album was epic. Acerbic, witty, down to earth. Second was OK. Then they slid off so hard into ambient shoegazing that the city of Sheffield had to spontaneously generate The Reytons as a defence mechanism to do what the Arctic Monkeys should have been doing for the last 10 years.

Oasis 100% Agreed. Not heard enough Nick Drake to comment. Would you include Jeff Buckley for that reason? Curious, as I'm on the fence.

Do we really have to go through another cycle of the net spend/club equity argument again? It’s like deja vu. Not sure what DS has to do to get respect, other than by winning the Champions league with Walsall. The bar for some reason seems to be way higher for DS than other managers. In the same time period there can’t be many managers in English football who have achieved what Dean has, and no that doesn’t only mean trophies. There are a handful of trophies every year, and hundreds of football league clubs. Plus Dean actually has a trophy for the playoff win, which already puts him in the top 5% of managers using that metric. We were about to go into liquidation THREE AND A BIT YEARS AGO. And we’re now top half Prem. Give the guy a f***ing break. God knows he’s earned it.

I think Gerrard might turn out to be a really good manager, you know. Think he needs to cut his chops at another club, preferably in England, as it is hypercompetitive. The problem Lampard has had is that it all came a bit easy. He’s not had the experience, and he’s been thrust into a couple of high profile scenarios. They both need to manage at Wigan for a couple of years.
